No Worries
It was quite easy finding her, especially when she was called down to the office. I smirked and walked towards the office making the guys follow me.
I started smiling like a alligator when we found her in the office with a very annoyed father. We waited outside of the office, on the extremely squishy chairs, for her to come out and when she did she was redder than a cherry.
I started laughing when I saw her and ended up falling off my chair onto the ground. If it was even possible Becky's face got even redder, "What are you laughing at?"
I sat up on the floor and remembered where we were causing me to blush this time. "Well duh, you. You look sooo cute when you're flustered."
Micah offered me a hand up, which I gladly took, and the five of us started down the hall. Becky grabbed Cole's schedule and led him away to show him his classes. I stopped by the library and opened the door, walking in with Micah and Cade following.
"Why hello Lacey. How was your summer?"
I smiled at the elderly librarian. "It was great Mrs. Chesterfield. How was yours?"
"It was alright. Oh here is the new calendar for the meetings. And if you wouldn't mind helping me after school, it would be much appreciated."
I took the calendar from her and nodded, "Of course. I'll see you later Mrs. Chesterfield"
"You too dear."
Micah and Cade didn't say anything about her calling me dear. But it wasn't hard to figure out that they were curious. I folded up the calendar and placed it in my pocket.
We found an empty round table in the corner and sat down, I pulled a pen out of my pocket along with my schedule. "Let me see your schedules quickly."
They handed them over and I looked them over, writing their classes down, then handed them back. "Okay, ready to get a tour of the school? I promise it'll be worth while."
They nodded and we stood up and walked back to the front off the library. Where I caught a glimpse of Becky leading Cole down the hall. I shook my head and walked out of the library.
I lead them down the senior hall and pointed out their classes as we went, "The rooms are easy to remember. 100s are upstairs, 200s are downstairs. The odds are in the senior and sophomore halls and the evens are in the junior and freshman halls. The gym lockers are downstairs."
We went downstairs where I pointed out more classes, then we went back upstairs. "This is the Sands it has some vending machines and couches. It's usually where students go when the have free time. There is an elevator that we passed a little earlier, but it's only for people who broke a leg or something like that."
The P.A blared just as we passed a speaker, I grimaced. They need to get those fixed.. "All students and staff are to report to the gym for the assembly at 2:30."
I checked the time, only 1:47.
"Excuse me. Do you know where room 402 is?"
I turned towards the freshman, "It's out in the Tech Ed. building. It would be the second classroom the the right."
"Okay thanks." And they ran off.
"Lacey. We need to talk."
I grimaced. "Jake not now okay. Besides shouldn't you be with Sally or your dogs."
Micah and Cade shuffled behind me, Jake must have just noticed them. "Hey, you guys new? Wait, aren't you the new Running back?"
"Yes and yes. I'm Cade and this is Micah."
"Cool. Lacey I'll talk to you later."
I glared at his retreating back. Can't he take a hint!?! I checked the time again, 2:15.
I beckoned Micah and Cade to follow me to the gym. When we walked through the side door in the stairwell, I pointed out where the juniors were to sit. I then left them and walked over to coach who was talking with Becky.
I was intercepted by a smiling Ziak. "Lacey, do you and Becky wanna hang out after school?"
I smiled at my friend, "We'd love to but I'm going to help Mrs. Chesterfield after the assembly."
"Oh, okay." His smile faded and then came again to light up his features. "Could we come too? We could help."
I shrugged, "Sure Ziak. I have to go now, see you in a bit." With that I walked away from him, and towards Becky and the coach.
"Ahhh there you are. Mrs. Collard wants some girls to show how hard they work and introduce the sports they can sign up for. She asked me if you two would do so."
I looked at Becky and nodded. She clapped her hands together, "Great cause the Senior's president is sick so you'll be announcing. Don't look so worried, You'll do great."
Don't worry? Great thanks, now I'm gonna worry.
