Becky

"Hey Becky, what's up?" At first there was static but then her sweet voice came on, "I've been calling you all day. Are you alright? You're not sick are you?"

I couldn't help but laugh, "No, I'm not sick. What did you want to tell me?"

I walked to the front door and opened it, Diablo rushed out. I sat down on the steps, waiting for Becky to start gossiping. "Well, there are three new kids in our class and they're all boys!" I could hear her fanning herself from the thought, "Okay anything else?'

"Oh ya, I'm coming over tonight. Daddy has to work in the morning so I thought I could go with you to school tomorrow?"

Smiling I said, "Of course you can Becky. You know that you're always welcomed at the house."

"Thank god, cause I didn't want to carry all my stuff back home." She hung up and started laughing, she was already at the front gate.

I rolled my eyes,  "Diablo lets go inside, you too Becky." Becky started pouting, "I'm not a puppy."

I laughed and went inside with Becky, I completely forgot about the visitors that were in the living room. So when we walked in laughing they were confused. Well except mom, she smiled knowing Becky was going to stay the night.

"Um... everyone this is Becky, Becky this is everyone."

Her mouth was hanging open so I closed it for her. Then I elbowed her in the side, which made her jump and made Cole start laughing. "I guess I'm not the only one after all."

Becky was so confused that everyone started laughing and she joined in after awhile. When she finally stopped she said, "I'm guessing that you boys are juniors right? And are going to the local school?"

They all nodded, with that for her answer Becky dragged me upstairs to my room.  Once we were inside she shut the door and started jumping up and down all excited, "Those are the boys that I was talking about! Oh. My Gawd." She started to fan herself with her hands. "They are SOOOO hot. I can't believe that they're here. In our house!"

I was staring to hear voices again, not just one either but multiple. "Oh. My. Gawd. I left my sketchboo downstairs on the table! They could easily look at it!"

We ran down the stairs to the dining room stopping at the doorway when we see Cole, Cade, and Micah all sitting there talking in hushed voices. That stopped though when they saw us standing there; I tried to casually walk in and grab my sketchbook but of course I tripped over one of Diablo's toys. I almost did a face plant. Almost. If it hadn't been for a pair of strong arms that caught me.

When I looked up all I could see were icy blue eyes, and guess what else. My arms just  happened to be wrapped around him. "Um... thanks." Was all I said as he put me back on my feet.

Micah shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugs. "Ya, no prob. Just watch out for dog toys next time."

His eyes were sparkling with laughter, I looked down quickly and blushed. Becky walked up to me and handed over my sketchbook, which I hugged close to my chest. "So ya we're going upstairs. No boys allowed in the closet."

I couldn't help but laugh at their confused expressions. We've been calling my room 'the closet' since I moved up there in sixth grade.

The front door closed and I could Dalton walking towards the kitchen, looking for supper no doubt. I shot Becky a look that said we were in for it now. We started backing up towards the stairs quietly. Then as we made it to the first step Dalton walks in and he freezes at the sight of the boys.

Diablo was right next to him panting happily, Cole looked as if he was smacked across the face. Micah was looking at Dalton in confusion, and Cade was blushing.

Dalton turned, watching Becky and I. Both of us looked down, not knowing how he would react. Diablo barked twice and Dalton started to laugh.

I haven't heard him laugh in so long, and then he came up to us and gave us a bear hug. Just like he use to.

"Dalton! I haven't seen you in forever."

Dalton smiled at Becky and ruffled her hair, making her pout. "You too Becky."

Cole recovered from the "blow" and held out his hand, "Hi I'm Cole. This is Cade and Micah. We just moved in the neighborhood last week."

Dalton shook each of their hands, but didn't look very happy to see them in the house. "Name's Dalton. I'm Lacey's older brother."

Becky and I exchanged nervous looks and started to slowly back up the stairs. Mom came in at that moment, took in the scene, and hugged Dalton. Mouthing to us to go on up. And we did, laughing all the way to my room.
