Jungkook hides behind a pillar, then sticks his head out a moment later to see Taehyung continue walking ahead.

Now, it is obvious that agent 09 Jeon Jungkook is tailing researcher Kim Taehyung. The question is, why?

It all started from Jimin and his allergy. As the agent directly involved in stopping the weredragon, Jungkook was called in to give his statement on the incident.

After he was done, he asked a question of his own, "just between you and me, why was it that instead of the first aid crew or another agent, it was a researcher who took and applied the medicine to agent 87?"

Jungkook's question was valid. No matter how intelligent Kim Taehyung is due to his mutation, his body is of an average human male. Why would he put himself and why would anyone else put him at risk when there are better qualified crew on site?

"Don't tell anyone, alright? I'm only telling you," the officer replied and leaned in closer, slightly excited to share what he knows and to see agent 09 up close, "I just took down the first aid crew's statement. They said that the doctor told them to stay put and ran off with the medicine. The weird part is all of them did not think about disobeying and instead prepared a stretcher for agent 87. An agent also said that he would have helped, but did not know why he stayed back. Agent 09, was it really that scary? Agent 09?"

Jungkook snapped out of his thoughts and replied to the officer, "Huh? Uh, yeah, it was bad. Look, I have an urgent duty and I gotta go, thanks."

Jungkook exited the room and then walked aimlessly, having more questions now than before.

Was everyone that shocked that they instinctively avoided going near Jimin? But if the agents had teamed up, they would be able to get him under control, so why didn't they?

Or could it be that Taehyung not only has a mutation in his brain, but in other aspects? Powers of some sort, say like a siren, where people would obey what he says?

Jungkook shook his head. All agents whose powers are from non-human species, such as Jimin for example, would inevitably take on physical aspects such as wings or claws. Taehyung would have scales, fins, or gills. Or does the doctor hide them under clothes?

But why would he hide when having powers is respected? Then again, being a researcher for Galactica would be respected enough.

Or is Kim Taehyung just a normal human and Jungkook is thinking too much?

Jungkook sighed and then he spotted the object of his curiosity just a few metres ahead, at the edge of the garden, and the agent hid himself.

"Wait, why am I hiding? I did nothing wrong. In fact, I saved his life," Jungkook mumbled under his breath. Jungkook steps out from behind the pillar and paused for a moment. He gets confused himself by the things he does sometimes.

Taehyung walked and Jungkook followed at a distance, eventually ending up at the infirmary.

Jimin was laying down with his hand held by his boyfriend, agent 11 Min Yoongi. Jimin's swelling had reduced, leaving behind puffy cheeks and eyes which would go down in a few days more. He was whining about how he looks like a mochi gone wrong when he spotted Taehyung.

"Tae!" Jimin greets excitedly then pouts, eyes glimmering as tears rapidly built up and trickled down his cheeks, "I'm s-so s-sorry!"

"Shush, it's okay, you didn't mean to," Taehyung turns a circle and pats his own head, "see? You didn't hurt me and all my hair is here. Nothing's burnt."

Jimin sniffles, "I feel s-so bad, and t-thank you, and I have to t-thank Jungkookie t-too."

"You look ugly," Jungkook comments from the doorway. Jimin looks like a human dumpling, a little bloated and extra squishable, kinda cute to be honest, but it is habitual for Jungkook to jibe at his friend.

Yoongi pecks his boyfriend's face and whispers, "cute. Never wrong, never ugly."

Yoongi licks at Jimin's tears gently, drawing happy giggles from the weredragon, then turns to glower at Jungkook.

Yoongi's voice was soft with a light northern accent, "you punched Minnie and called him names."

Jungkook throws his hands up in surrender, "hyung, I had to hold him down and he was struggling. I would have holes in me if I didn't do that."

"Then you should have taken it all," Yoongi said as he shifts, body stretching and turning into the colour of seas and rivers.

A python twice the width of Jungkook and as tall as ten storeys high, then slammed his tail towards Jungkook.

"Hyung!" Jungkook yelped and put up an energy shield.

"Isn't Yoonie so pretty? Taebear, Yoonie wouldn't hurt you but stay close, " Jimin sighs dreamily and Taehyung kept his mouth shut beside the bed.

Sure, Yoongi has beautiful iridiscient scales in all shades of blue, but snakes aren't really the first thing Taehyung would think of when someone mentions "pretty".

And Taehyung prays for anyone who thinks of Yoongi as a simple reptile. In truth, Yoongi is a water sprite who has two physical forms, a python and a human male. Much stronger than an elemental summoner, elementals like Yoongi have a massive amount of spiritual energy.

Yoongi can conjure waves with a single thought and he is currently raining a single solid pillar of water onto Jungkook.

Jungkook may be strong, and is technically evaluated as stronger than Yoongi with his rank two digits ahead of Yoongi, but at the rate Yoongi is going and knowing that Jungkook's physical body is unable to hold his full powers, Taehyung wonders if Jungkook's energy shield had ever cracked.

Jimin picks up the tub of doughnut holes Yoongi brought for him and offers a piece to Taehyung, "this is really good, every piece is coated with icing sugar."

Taehyung takes it, "will Jungkook be alright?"

"Don't worry, Yoonie knows when to stop and Jungkook might struggle but he would be okay. Another one?"

"It's okay," Taehyung replies and looks back to the fight and Jimin grins a little at how focused Taehyung is. Is Taehyung collecting data or is he concerned for the brat? After all, nothing bonds two people like accomplishing something together, like Jungkook and Taehyung earlier.

Jimin pops another doughnut hole into his mouth, eyes scrunching in content. He has the best boyfriend ever.

"It's happening," Jimin comments.

"Arghhhhhh!" Jungkook grunts and steam rise at the point where water and Jungkook's shield meets.

Steam floods the room and Taehyung coughs and closes his eyes. Meanwhile, Jimin continues munching while patting Taehyung's back. He can hold his breath really well.

When the steam clears, Yoongi is back in his human form, wearing a hanbok, pearls and opals stringed in his hair gracefully as usual. As if he hadn't just finished a fight, he addressed Jimin, "you were saying you wish to get discharged, petal?"

Jimin nodded frantically, "yes, I don't want to stay for the night. Can we go to your place?"

Yoongi turns and lowers his back to Jimin who clambered on immediately.

"Seeya Taebear, check on Jungkookie okay?"

Yoongi nods to Taehyung as goodbye and Taehyung bows to the older agent.

As soon as the couple exits the infirmary, Jungkook said, "go ahead, Doctor Kim, I won't be able to leave. Do you mind calling Doctor Choi here?" 

Taehyung's eyes widened in surprise as he takes in the state Jungkook is in. What just happened?
