Chapter 6: Challenge

-Song Ji Hyo-
"Yah, what does she think she's doing?" I heard HaHa say loudly.

I stomped up to the top of the grand staircase. I noticed everyone looking at me and took a deep breath before saying, "You probably think that I don't care about what you're doing to me. But what I want you to know is that I do and I'm not going to take anymore of your crap. Stop bullying me and the other students that got chosen during Jai Ho." I glanced at Joongki and Gary then stared at everyone else. Kim Jong Kook was muttering something to Eun Hye who laughed. I cleared my throat and continued, "If the Jai Ho students get top ten in the semester exams, then all of you have to accept us into this school and stop attacking us every time you see us in the hallways!"

"So this applies to only you guys? We can still bully the other Jai Ho students in the up coming years?" Choi Jin Hyuk asked.

I scoffed. What is wrong with these people. "No! This goes out to every Jai Ho student, even the ones from next year and the year after that and that and so on."

I noticed Gary who's mouth fell open probably thinking, How does she expect us to get in the top ten? I shrugged at him then focused on everyone else who was muttering and whispering to each other. "So what do you say?"

"How do you expect to make it to the top ten?" Kwang Soo asked.

I crossed my arms and glared at Jong Kook who was staring at me. "Just wait and see."

"Yah, are you crazy? I can't even tell the difference between Eukaryotes and Prokaryotes." Gary exclaimed as we headed down the hallway.

Students were staring and pointing at us, but I just ignored them. Joongki and Lizzy just looked straight ahead and didn't say anything about it.

Nickhun opened the science lab door for me. It was empty inside, except for the writings on the wall that told the chosen students to leave the school.

"How are we going to pass the test? I mean I'm smart, but I'm not a genius. Math is my weakest subject Ji Hyo." Nichkhun said.

Lizzy sighed. "That was so not a good idea. You should've talked to us about it first before going and doing that Ji Hyo."

I turned around and stared at the writings on the wall. "The number one thing that will help you pass these exams is confidence. I don't know about you, but I hate smelling like eggs and baking powder every single day. If you don't want to be able to walk around the school without getting pelted, then that's fine by me. But I don't want to live a life like that anymore. these people ruined my life outside of school, and I won't let them do it anymore. They even took my house away from me."

"She's right. If we work hard and truly try our best.... we might even get in the top five and knock out Kang Min Hyuks number one ranking." Joongki smiled. "We can all help each other out. What do you say?"

Gary glanced at me then nodded. "Okay, we can do this."

Nickhun stuck out his right hand. "Fighting?"

I stared at Joongki, Gary and Lizzy with a smile and put my hand on top of Nichkhun's. Then it was Joongki's, Gary's then Lizzy's. We all smiled and shouted "FIGHTING!"

-HaHa-
"What's going on?" I asked Kwang Soo who just bumped into me. He looked like he was in a rush.

"K-Kim Jong Kook and..." Kwang Soo stammered. "And Yoo Jae Suk... Ddak-Ji competition."

I looked around and noticed a ton of students running past me. Kwang Soo and I both looked at each other and followed the other students. They ran into a gym where Jae Suk and Jong Kook were having a serious Ddak-Ji competition. Jong Kook stood to the side when it was Jae Suk's turn.

"Oh my god, what does Jong Kook think he's doing?" Krystal asked as she watched in anticipation.

Sulli sighed. "He's about to embarrass himself in front of the whole school."

"But if he wins then Jae Suk is going to lose his position as Ddak-Ji master." Junho told us.

"YOO JAE SUK!" Kim Soo Hyun cheered. "YOO JAE SUK!!"

More students joined in and Jae Suk looked around. He nodded and took a deep breath before slamming down the Ddak-Ji on top of the other.
Everyone groaned when it didn't flip over. They went on and on like that for twenty minutes, each one of them not being able to turn over the other Ddak-Ji.

"FINISH ALREADY!" Kwang Soo shouted. "PLEASE!"

It was Kim Jong Kooks turn. He looked around and said, "I'm going to finish this for all of you!"

He took the Ddak-Ji and slammed it down as hard as he could on top of the other one. Everyone except Sulli, Krystal and Kim Soo Hyun cheered when the Ddak-Ji's made a full rotation.

"Wow, that was intense." I said once we left the gym.

Krystal nodded. "I know! I'm so glad it's over now."

"I've never seen Jae Suk look so upset before." Sulli sighed. "He's never going to recover now that Jong Kook is the new Ddak-Ji master."

Kwang Soo smiled. "I'm sure he'll be fine."

At that moment, Jong Kook and Jae Suk walked towards us.

Sulli smiled and hugged Jae Suk. "It's okay, maybe next time."

Jae Suk shook his head, looking blank. "I've never lost to anyone before. Never."

Jong Kook laughed and patted Jae Suk's back. "Guess you're not that good as you thought you were."

"Jong Kook, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure. I'll meet you guys in the courtyard." Jong Kook said and the others left.

"So Ji Hyo... she lost her house a week ago. And she has no where to live." I said, feeling bad.

"By the way, where is she? I haven't seen her since this morning. You think she went home early?" Jong Kook asked, completely ignoring what I said.

I glared at him. "No, because she doesn't have a home."

"Oh... I forgot. Do you know where she is?"

I shrugged. "I don't know because you banned me from being friends with her. You know, I don't understand why you loathe the Jai Ho kids so much. Some of them are actually talented and kind... unlike some people I know."

Jong kook scoffed. "Talented? Those students are a shame to this high school! We're the top and richest school in South Korea HaHa. Not Just Seoul. These kids are getting in for free when we have to pay for everything. It isn't fair."

"You're just rude to them because you think you're higher than everyone else since your dad is the principal of the school. Soon you will be too. Plus, you're going to get married." I told him angrily.

"You think I want to be the principal of this school?" Jong kook asked. "That only happens when my father dies, and I don't want that to happen. Plus, I don't even like Eun Hye. And I'm sure she feels the same way about me. We're only getting married for our parents companies! Not because we love each other!!!"

I looked around and noticed some people watching us with their mouths wide open. One person stood out though.

I mouthed to Jong Kook to turn around. When he did, Jong Kook slouched his shoulders. "Eun Hye..."

"Jong Kook, I'm calling off this engagement." Eun Hye looked like she was about to cry, but she quickly walked away.

Jong Kook sighed and looked at me. "This is all your fault."

"Those words came out of your mouth, not mine." I commented.

-Song Ji Hyo-
Exams came two weeks later. Me and the others stayed up all night every night and we studies every single subject over and over again until our brains exploded. They didn't literally explode, but you get what I mean. Hopefully we'll be able to pass the semester exams, otherwise all the hard work would've gone down the drain. We all met up before testing started.

Gary was extremely nervous. "I know everything right now, but I'm afraid that when it's time to test I'll forget everything."

I put my hand on his shoulder. "You're going to be fine Gary... trust me."

Gary stared at me and nodded. "Okay, so are you Ji Hyo. I'm going to pass this exam just for you... and everyone else."

I nodded. "Okay. Come on, we have to go. Nichkhun, Lizzy... we'll see you later then!"

"Good luck!" Joongki said.

Lizzy and Nichkhun waved and ran off to their testing sites. Gary, Joongki and I looked at each other before heading off to our room.

"So, how do you think you did on that math exam?" Lizzy asked as we walked into the cafeteria.

I nodded and smiled. "There were a few things I forgot at first, but they came back to me. How about you?"

"Yeah, I think I did fine." Then she whispered. "But how about Gary? He seemed really nervous...."

"I don't know.... he was talking to himself the whole entire time. I'm sure he did fine though." I told Lizzy.

When we got our lunch, Lizzy and I went outside in the courtyard and sat down on a bench in the cold weather. The only other people out there were Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo and Kim Jong Kook. Great.

They started to walk in our direction when they spotted us. Before they could come any closer, I put my tray down and stood up.

"No, don't come any closer." I warned.

Surprisingly, they all stopped with confused expressions on their faces.

Jong kook smirked. "You have some confidence don't you? Are you sure you're going to reach top ten?"

"Of course we are, why?" I asked. "Worried?"

"No I'm not worried. I was just asking. And I hate to say this but nobody can beat Kang Min Hyuk." Jong Kook said and crossed his arms. "He's a born genius."

I crossed my arms too. "You clearly haven't met Song Joongki."

"Well, I just wanted to say good luck." Yoo Jae Suk said.

Kwang Soo nodded. "Yep."

"Why are you wishing them good luck? They're not worth it guys." Jong Kook said. "It's better for all of us if they failed the exams instead of passing. Because if they do, then I'll have no one to make fun of anymore."

Jae Suk looked up at him in disbelief. "Jong Kook, I thought we agreed that we would stop this. I don't like hurting other people's feelings... it was a stupid thing for me to do in the first place."

Jong Kook shrugged. "Then how about you just leave and find yourself some new friends? Oh, how about you join the losers of the school?" He glanced at me then looked at Jae Suk again. "Anyway, I did beat you in Ddak-Ji, so you really have no place at school anymore."

I stared at Kwang Soo thinking that he would say something to Jong Kook, but he was unsurprisingly quiet. I couldn't believe this. How can Kwang Soo just let Jong Kook talk to his friends that way? Well I thought Kwang Soo and Jae Suk were close friends, but right now Kwang Sol isn't even doing anything to stand up for him. Jerk.

Jae Suk shrugged then walked over to Lizzy and I. He crossed his arms and faced Jong Kook. "I never really liked you anyway."

Jong kook looked like he was ready to punch Jae Suk, but then Teacher Park Jin-Young walked outside at the same moment so he probably thought better of it.

Jong Kook glared at Jae Suk before walking away. Kwang Soo mouthed 'sorry' to Jae Suk before following him.

Authors note:
Wow, this is the second longest chapter I think? Is it? Chapter one was pretty long. But anyway, here's chapter 6. And there wasn't much love in this chapter, more drama. But don't worry because all that love drama officially starts in the next chapter. I didn't want to start it so early in the story because then people would get bored of it. So anyway give this chapter a vote if you liked it and comment what your favorite part was or what you thought about this chapter! Thanks and goodbye! :)
