'I'm her boyfriend'
"I was- I was returning from my best friend's house when these guys came in front and stopped me in the middle of the way, they kept asking me to come with me but I said no and then he forced me- the one with ash grey hair. He held my hair in his fit and slapped me thrice before he started to tear my clothes then and there." Haneul was merely a seventeen year old teenager, one of the safest cities in the world was witnessing an attempt to gang rape case. Not like it was a new thing, South korea went from one of the poorest to one of the most developed nations, sadly enough the society couldn't just keep up with it. Misogyny, gender gap (and etc) shined and gleamed.
Meanwhile Daehye was licking her previously bleeding lip, "what were you doing at a secluded area and why were you wearing such short clothes? You were just there to meet your friend if I'm not wrong." officer Choi spoke and Daehye had a disgusted scoff covering her face.
"In the middle of July you don't expect us to wear full covered woolen trousers or do you?" she manspreaded and kept her kept her arms on her thighs before crossing her legs and keeping her handcuffed hands on her lap.
"And why are we handcuffed? What I did was for self defence and this girl right here- she's innocent. Haneul, call your parents." Daehye first passed dagger-like glares to officer Choi and gritted her teeth before turning to Haneul whose face was covered with bruises, about to pick up the landline she was interrupted by a ring.
"May I pick up the call?" Daehye asked tiredly and flipped her hair. Rather than letting her pick the call one of the police assistants opened her clutch and put the phone on speaker. "Dae it's been a few minutes since I reached, your car is here but you're nowhere to be seen." Jimin's voice echoed and the whole police station had their attention focused on that table.
"I'm at the Seoul metropolitan police station." Daehye spoke and everything fell silent anew, "I'll be there in a few." the raspy voice sounded panicky and without wasting a single second the call was cut and most probably Jimin was now running downstairs.
"Sir the report from the hospital is here." a junior police trainee handed a tablet to the senior in the room, it was most probably the three men whose report kicked in.
"One has his elbow completely dislocated, one has excessive bleeding from his head due to getting slammed on a hard surface and the last one has his nose dislocated, also all of their eyes are temporarily out of function." Other than feeling guilty a proud sug formed on Daehye's face and meanwhile Haneul looked at her "waah unnie."
"The victim has multiple cuts on her arms and legs but rather than getting even a first aid treatment she's here for questioning waiting for her parents. That's splendid." Daehye snapped back and had a pursed smile on her face, sarcastic on another level.
"Do you have any idea if i or someone else was not there then what would've happened? The headlines of tomorrow and a few more days could have been occupied with this news flashing," she continued and just that moment the glass gate behind opened, the click of shoes whipped all the heads in his direction
Park Jimin was dressed in his full glory, his bangs held back, his mullet looked neatly combed and his forehead exposed, dressed in a silk satin shirt under a slim fit blazer of same material, his physique looked classy and the chanel belt glimmering with shiny stones gave him a celebrity look, well he was one.
Fucking hell can he take a leave from being this hot-
"Hey." Jimin stood behind Daehye and she turned to him, "sir can you please remove your mask and tell me your relations with her?" officer Choi spoke up and Jimin looked at him, his piercing gaze digging daggers when he saw Daehye's lower lip busted.
"I'm her boyfriend." Jimin removed his mask meanwhile Daehye choked on what she was gonna say, Haneul was one minimetere away from fainting and the whole police station had the earth removed from their feet. He didn't even stutter nor even think about it.
Can my stupid heart just stop with the palitations already.
"So I have a right to ask what's going on." Jimin had concern in his eyes as he looked at Haneul. "Attempt to gang rape and a case of sexual assualt, I was trying to stop it but ended up self defending ourselves which is a problem with the officer." Daehye calmed down a little when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Why are you getting questioned? Even if you are then it shouldn't have been taking so long right Officer Choi?" Jimin's voice got octaves lower while he read the name off the placard placed on the wooden table.
"Your girlfriend has tried to take the law into her own hands, she shouldn't have injured them this badly." the officer looked at Daehye again, she could feel that he had a problem with how she was dressed. "And what were you doing in the parking area, I would blame it on you too- with such clothing you're not supposed to go anywhere."
He continued and slammed the tablet on the tabe, on the other hand Daehye's blood started boiling now and Jimin's hands were now balled in tight fists that his knuckles turned white.
"Rather than teaching women what to wear, how to sit or stand, when to move, where to go, how to return home early, you could teach men one simple thing and that is to keep it in their pants." Jimin raised his voice a little, close to yelling.
"And you might know that my band has been the one to represent south Korea at UN I don't have relations with your seniors but the president do knows me personally, I don't wanna say this but if you keep having this 18th century thinking then the chair you are sitting on may not see your ass for a while." Jimin stood up and took Daehye's hand but then he felt metal cuffs on her wrist he stopped, he looked at Haneul and the condition was the same.
"Why are they handcuffed?" till now Daehye only witnessed the drunk Jimin, fed up with himself and his past Jimin but this Jimin? God he was hot on another scale when he was making the right argument. Without even wasting a single second a junior came and opened the cuffs simultaneously.
"I hope you take the right needed action officer." Daehye said and Jimin intertwined his hand with hers and dragged her but she pulled him back. "Wait, what about Haneul?"
"Unnie I just saw my parents, they should be parking their cars."
"Do you want me to explain everything to them?" Daehye brushed her bangs and looked at her, she took out her phone and gave it to Daehye "no but can I- can I get your number?"
"Can you promise me that you didn't see Jimin? Or at least keep it to yourself and don't tell anyone else okay?" Daehye said while tapping the phone's screen. "I promise." Haneul said and she smiled at her, just at the spur of the moment Jimin patted her back too.
"You were very strong today." He put his mask back on and bid her a farewell just when her parents entered, Daehye explained everything in brief and told them nothing was wrong with their daughter. They thanked the fake couple and left.
"I would've stayed away from you if you knew how to beat men's asses." Jimin opened the car door for Daehye and after a few seconds sat in the driver's seat. "I'm sorry for ruining the date." she rubbed her temples and glanced at him.
"It's not even 9, the date is still on babe." she blushed at his words, what was she even doing, she was just blushing at his words this whole time.
"With that lip scratch you look like a whole badass." Daehye touched her lip and Jimin revved up the engine. "Stop with the smooth talk." She finally tried to look at him closely, his tanned dewy skin, his non-existent freckles on his neck exposed due to the top buttons undone and his hands covered with silver rings and his piercings.
"Stop checking me out." Jimin teased her mercilessly. "I just like your rings." she hit his chest playfully. After a few minutes they reached the building. Daehye tiredly dragged herself to the elevator and leaned the wall.
"On a scale of 1 to 10 how tired are you?"
"1000." The elevator dinged and the robotic female voice spoke, as she entered the aromatic flavors were floating in the air and the magnificent view of the whole downtown and the glimmering lights visible from the glass wall, without even delaying she hurried towards the large dining table. A whole large bowl filled with pasta, she took the fork and dug in but a hand stopped her.
"I have to dis-infect your cut." Jimin turned her and pulled her to his washroom where the first aid box was. He sprayed the cotton with orange colored antiseptic. "Pout like this." Jimin pouted and she repeated him, he dabbed the cotton on her lips and then cleaned it with water. He then dug his hands in his pocket and applied a little of his lip balm on his index finger to moisturize her dry lips.
"You have your lipstick?" he asked her and she opened her clutch and handed him the lipstick, he dabbed the lipstick again on her lips. "All good, do you want me to kiss it better?"
"If you want to." she glanced at him, the way he took care of her. She didn't want a taste of it because she knew once tasted, she would crave for it. He leaned in and pecked her lower lip. "Still tastes like antiseptic." Jimin falsely accused and pretended to spit in the sink. "Never asked you to lean in." Daehye gave him a blank stare before she pushed him away to hide her blushing cheeks and went out of the washroom. Jimin rubbed his nape again and his fingers traced his lips, a soft smile tugged on his lips.
Daehye's heels' sound echoed through the penthouse but she abruptly stopped when she saw a blanket tent in place of the second living room. She bent a little and saw it lit inside by golden wire lights, she took off her heels and tried to get in but an unfamiliar voice stopped her.
"Maam no that is for the deserts." a young boy carrying a plate and placed the other on the table, he must've been her age. "Who are you?" she put on her heels back and stood there clueless.
"I'm one of Jimin hyung's chefs."
Chef- how rich is this guy-
"Huh-" a light chuckle escaped from Daehye's mouth and Jimin entered the dining area. "Yaah come here." Jimin panicked and held Daehye's wrist before dragging her to the table and pulling a chair for her and sitting beside her.
"Well let's eat." Daehye clapped her hands and took a bite of trimasu focaccia bread and her eyes closed at how the cheese immediately dissolved, "bro I'll kiss you it's seriously so good." She patted Jimin's so-called chef's back and savored the flavor.
"Really?" the eighteen year old's eyes lit up and he looked at her as she nodded, "she won't kiss you." Jimin lifted up his fork and chuckled.
"Uhm- i'll take a leave, thanks hyung." The so-called chef again smiled and left quietly as Jimin made sure to bid him a leave till the elevator, Daehye smiled at the sight of him praising the younger.
"So I really don't know much about you Daehye." Jimin sat on his seat again and Daehye nodded her head in agreement. "My mother is indian, my father is not my biological father." she spoke up. Jimin would've choked on his food if he had anything in his mouth, things like these were least expected or even accepted in Korea, but yes again Daehye had come here just for her graduation.
"In all honesty, my mind is blown." Jimin finally took a bite, gulping it down with some water, "My parents' story is very novel worthy." Daehye smiled, longingly. "Please, I'm desperate to listen."
"So my mother had a boyfriend, they hadn't been dating for long because my mother had just landed in california for her business studies. One fantastic day she missed her period and told her boyfriend about it but he was just as clueless as she was, he was afraid- petrified because this shit is not formidable in India, so he ran away, never established any kind of contact with her every again. At the same time surprisingly my father and mum started talking but she maintained her distance not telling anyone about her pregnancy, not until my father proved to be worthy of her love, and he also loved me. I was the ring bearer at their marriage at the age of merely a year." Daehye's eyes grew wet but she took a deep breath and finally met Jimin's eyes which were filled with so much with an unexplainable emotion.
"And if you noticed- wait I never even told you did I? My real name is Eklavya Min Walia, Min is my middle name, my mother's surname is mine too."
"Eklavya." He let the name roll on his tongue, "That's such a pretty name." He kept his hand on hers, "It is but god knows how much unacceptance I've faced from papa's side, specially his mother, she's those old generation grannies and she ignores my existence like some motherfucker, you know I actually started wishing for her love and care and wished that I wasn't the way I am but slowly I started loving myself, around the same time you guys released the album, Ara made me a fan. All credits goes to her."
"No you are one of the most beautiful women I've ever come across in my life Daehye, I'm not saying it out of pity or anything because I know you're thinking of that but really I do feel that way towards you." Jimin relaized that he had said too much a bit too late, not that he regretted it, his liked how her skin suddenly grew warm under his touch. "And I or my band's album didn't do shit, its all you, you were the one who was strong enough to pull out yourself from that negativity." She nodded her head, "Yes but still,
"Thank you for making music, thank you for existing." Daehye spoke up, she really was thankful to BTS just like a million other armies.
"We weren't always this motivated too you know- like there were dark times, sad times, times where we hated ourselves and times where we regretted forming BTS. We thought of drifting apart but gave one last try." Jimin ate the ice cream from Daehye's bowl.
"But then you blew up- its always like this, it's like a butterfly- you try to catch it you'll either end up breaking it's wings or you'll kill it or it will fly away but if you'll leave it just like it is, it will sit on your hand when you least expect it."
"I'll never forgive you for that 10 day starvation though."
Shit.
She did it again.
Why are you so similar-
Those were Jimin's thoughts. His thoughts were a maze and it led to one final destination.
His past?
Or his present?
He had no idea. They said live in the present, fuck past and future so he tried. After all they really aren't a thing.
"The air is too serious, let's dance." Jimin got up and spread his one arm towards her. "Dance yes but with you-" Daehye was interrupted mid sentence.
"With me you might trip. You won't, I'm here." She grabbed his hand and he wrapped his arms around her before rotating her so that his chin was on her shoulder.
"Which song?" Jimin took out his phone and went through his playlist. "You wanna slow dance to a chase atlantic song?" she turned to him almost laughing when he was about to tap on the screen. "Okay now I found one."
The soft music played on the home theatre, a smile spreading on her face as he rotated her on her feet with his finger. "This is the type of song I would play when the world is ending in fire and I'm dancing with my soulmate or some shit." she rested her head on his shoulder as they slowly jammed to the soulful music.
"Mood." Jimin inhaled the strawberry scent from her hair. "Your lips my lips apocalypse." They sang together and gaped at the same time. "You have such a pretty voice."
"You should try making music like this." simultaneous words were exchanged and so were laughs, Jimin caressed her bare arms when he saw bruises on them. "You should rest."
"Yeah I'm gonna leave for home." Daehye buried her face in his neck and inhaled the scent of him and his cologne which was enough for her to calm down a little. "Stay here."
"What? No, I don't have a brush." She excused and tried to get away from him. "And clothes." she continued but a death grip was on her wrist.
"I have an extra brush and yes I have plenty of clothes."
Why are you like this?
Why are you always keeping me close to you?
I don't want it.
I don't want to catch a liking for you Park Jimin.
Please.
"Jimin-"
"Daehye please I even built a blanket fort for us." Jimin showed her his puppy eyes, his lips in a slight pout. To back away from this was a challenge, she turned her head away but then he blew in her ear. "Please babe." she didn't even know how fast her heart was beating, or how much heart beats it was skipping.
"Where's your wardrobe?" she deeply sighed and a smile spread on his face.
Was this what being a mess meant?
If yes then she wanted to have it all, because right now at this very moment she felt like Jimin was what she had and she was what he did.
She didn't think of her past or future, she just savored the present- how Jimin acted like her lover, or her go to makeout partner to how they were good friends who would share advice and try them.
By the time Daehye freshened up and wore Jimin's t-shirt and sweats which were almost oversized she was thinking about everything which lately happened, the roots of her hair still hurt, her arms and feet were still sore.
Daehye looked around the house but there was no sign of Jimin, she approached the blanket fort he built and found him inside on his macbook watching something, wearing a hoodie and his spectacles. "Oh you're here, let's watch a horror movie."
"Sure." Daehye cautiously got in and buried herself inside the comforter, Jimin's arms finding their way around her. As he still searched for something to watch she decided to take a glimpse at her phone. She wanted to narrate everything to Ara and maybe even Daehyun.
What she didn't expect was a text from Haneul. 'Unnie you were so cool today, I really wish to meet you again.' She smiled at the text and her heart beamed with happiness after a long time and she texted a 'sure' to her before going to her instagram.
It was flooded with the same content.
"Jimin." her voice was panicky, her hands fumbling and maybe even shaking.
Jimin was on the streets of Seoul's downtown a few hours ago- only with a mask on which didn't prevent much to seal his identity. Turns out Dispatch was guessing at this point what the hell was Jimin doing at a police station.

my life is drier than the sahara desert. Blackpink on weverse- idk if i should be excited that the girls are finally there or just cry due to the immature fanwars which are gonna happen.
and yes, the reason why I added Daehye's past life segment regarding her race; I thought that maybe by this book I could convey a few messages- I've seen this happen really- the stereotypes regarding the countries and stuff. Like there's a lot of discrimination.
Vote cause it keeps me going T-T
also Mic drop reached 1 billon. *flips the table over, yells 'mic mic bungee'*
edit; I've made a small alternative plotline and deleted the earlier one because of some things which would roll out towards the end of the book.
