Let go.
Days passed yet again, but swiftly this time- Jimin now didn't really try to hide his affection for Daehye and she meanwhile accepted it gladly. You might be wondering, 'they didn't believe in affection or love right?' well they don't but the situation was pretty unrealistic and the fact that both of them mutually enjoyed it wasn't worth cancelling.
Like Daehye thought that maybe their relationship existed at night, it didn't really. It was more shared in the daylight, texts or calls- even at times late night deep conversations but often in each other's arms. Daehye was like his drink buddy except he could quite literally kiss her, makeout and stuff and she would literally have his heart racing at times and really knew her schedule by heart now.
They did all the couple shit which people like the narrator aka me make me feel like i should be in love too, but nonetheless they both pulled a red line when it came to saying what they really were. They didn't want to speak about it, just like Park Jae-eon they wanted to be close but not close enough to hurt each other. Unaware of the fact that if they pull a red card they both would hurt each other emotionally.
But the confusion was, that why Daehye was in Jimin's house but Jimin himself wasn't there, awkward air hanging around the two people who stared at each other as soon as she entered the penthouse.
"Uhm-" she murmured as she looked at the man who looked alot like Jimin but he wasn't Jimin, his brother perhaps. "You must be Daehye." he smiled at her.
"Hello." she did a ninety degree bow to him, quite surprised that he knew her. "I'm Jihyun, by your looks I can very well see that you weren't expecting me."
"Jimin didn't really inform me, and just like him he's late." he chuckled lightly at her immediate informal behaviour, his eyes closing just like Jimin.
"Possibly one of the Jiminiest things."
"Perhaps, anyway I should get going." Daehye politely said to him, "Oh well hyung is well aware of you being here and I won't mind a little company."
"Oh no it'll be a nuisance for you." yeah that's what happens when you leave to asian people who met each other for the first time, the constant fight of who's the most considerate and formal.
"You're a guest, at least grab a cup of coffee." Jihyun took her shoulders and dragged her out of the lift. "Oh well." her eyes widened a little by his sudden shift of behaviour, but it was not creepy to say the least, just a little friendly shift which took her bystorm.
His hair was just like Jimin's except they were short and his height too resembled, god even Jimin's brother was so good looking. And that was the whole reason why his identity was so damn concealed. People used him to get to Jimin and he meanwhile hated that. While waiting on the dining table Daehye was utterly silent, watching Jihyun swiftly brew the coffee, his muscular triceps and the veiny hands, all of them made Daehye well aware of the fact that he and his hyung were copies of each other.
"Here ya go." he sat opposite to Daehye as he handed her the cup, casually sipping from the cup he finally initiated a conversation. "Glad to see you finally hyung told me so much about you, nonetheless he got a great girlfriend." Daehye was almost on the verge of choking on what she was gonna say.
"No no- Jihyun ssi, we're not dating or anything." She raised her palm and had a sheepish look covering her face. "Then?" Jihyun seemed confused now at the fact that it was only Daehye who stuck with Jimin after Grace left.
"Uhm, close friends? Good friends ugh- don't ask it's complicated."
"Everything got a little- uhm well I think you know." Jihyun stammered a little, thinking if it would've been a wise decision to say about Grace. "Well it does get, i completely empathize with Jimin and besides Grace must've been something- I mean I'm quite too low for Jimin's standards or to say ordinary."
Much to Jihyun's surprise Daehye wasn't uncomfortable at all, more like it seemed that she was quite open regarding this topic. "If you were low for hyung's standards then he would've never even considered seeing you for the second time and besides someone said whoever calls themself ordinary- aren't really ordinary."
"Great, you're a Fitzgerald reader too." sudden excitement plastered on Daehye's face as she clapped her hands together, Jihyun passed a low chuckle to her. "Joon hyung got me into this shit."
"Aish i swear all of them were written by female god novelists."
"Unlike here." Jihyun's statement here caught Daehye off guard. "Wait bro- how can you say that, bet you got your own specialities right? Besides, yes we all have similarities but it's the thought process which makes us unique and makes us stand out, know what I mean?"
"I absolutely do." Daehye well, for Jihyun and from his side enough testing has already been performed to determine what Daehye really was, as the cute caring brother for his hyung she did seem to pass his vibe check. After sometime the two decided to take a walk down the society, the heavy security ensured no nuisance which could've been created by the sasaengs.
At first Daehye's introverted attitude didn't really allow Jihyun to get into a comfortable conversation with her so they just exchanged a few talks about careers and stuff.
"D- noons?" a loud yell distracted the two people walking on the footpath, her head immediately whipped in the other direction, "hey." Daehyun was sweat soaked, as he passed the basketball to someone else in the court before rushing towards her and hugging her tight.
"Yaah you fucking pabo get off you're sweating reeks." she punched his back, his flipped off his sweaty hair from his forehead before looking at the man beside her, "Jim- oh wait you're not Jimin hyung."
"Jihyun ssi this is my brother Daehyun, Daehyun this is Jimin's brother Jihyun." She introduced the two to the other whilst Daehyun gulped a little at the sight of the muscular man standing in all black clothing.
"Hello." he did a ninety degree bow as he moved his sweaty hand forward and Jihyun took it, "oh im sorry im pretty sweaty."
"Oh no it's perfectly understandable." the air between the guys getting thicker as Daehye's face was screaming 'what the fuck did just happen?'. Jihyung moved the other two people further into the inner footpath as a car slowly came towards them.
"Heyo."
"Hitmanbang hit it auditions yo!" Daehye literally slapped Jimin's hand as he took it from the window to give a swift high5, "ack Dae-" Jimin stopped mid sentence as he saw what was going on her backside, their brothers really into the conversation they were exchanging.
"They seem friendly." she shook her head as she placed her elbows on the car gate and leaned her her a little to let the cool air of the car ac hit her face. "Just two extroverts and one of them is mind fucking the other."
"It's scary how you say that with a straight face." Jimin laughed at her response, "Daehyun yea caught a crush on your bro."
"Jimin hyung." Daehyun waved from afar when he got over with his brief introduction with Jihyun. Daehye moved a little sidewards to give Daehyun and Jimin a little space to shake hands, "taking good care of her?" Daehyun whispered and kept his voice low as he saw her whip her head in Jihyun's direction.
"What do you think?"
"I think you are or else she would've murdered you." here her brother was a little wrong, no doubt she would've murdered him but would've done that after considering all the 'what ifs'
After Daehye and Daehyun left saying that it was already time for supper and now that the two siblings were united they decided to take a stroll down the Min bungalow, Jimin drinking scotch and Jihyun accompanying him, the crystalline moonlight entering the dimly lit drawing room.
"So." Jihyun grabbed Jimin's attention from his phone screen, "so?"
"Daehye, the perfect candidate finally." Jihyun got down on point, cutting the shit talk before it. "What do you mean?" Jimin gulped down the entire glass and stared at his younger brother with his elbows on his knees, his bangs hanging mid hair before he flipped his hair.
"The perfect candidate who finally qualified your standards aka she's the closest to Grace."
"Keep that shit to yourself."
"Oh hell no- you know I'm fucking just so fucking tired of you doing this to yourself hyung, Daehye? God she talks like her, she- she has the same ideas, the same crave for being not dependent on anyone, the same hair." Jihyun spat at his older brother and only silence followed because what he said was like a bitter truth Jimin was tasting recently. Not even the bitter taste of the scotch without ice and water was comparable.
Jihyun, well, some might be wondering why he's being the bad guy, the truth is he's not- he's making Jimin aware to stop using someone just because he sees his dead girlfriend inside them.
"Take their MBTI tests and watch them get the same results."
"Okay Jihyun enough." Jimin hissed while setting the glass on table, Jihyun and Jimin's relationship was sorta bewildering. They cared about each other, loved each other with all their hearts but just like Taehyung Jihyun too was starting to figure out the real reason why he was with Daehye, and despite the two loving Jimin with their lives they couldn't let him hurt her.
"I can't let go of Daehye just yet." Jimin's head hung a little low as Jihyun stared at him. "Then let go of Grace."
"I can't do that either."
