ᄃΉΛPƬΣЯ ПIПΣ

"Love is not meant spared for one person, it is to be shared with all. Just keep your heart within the reach of your partner."

Skylar whimpers quietly, curling up around her bundle of duvets. She's grateful that it's a Saturday, because there's no way she's budging.

All she wants is a hot water bottle and bag of Maynard's fuzzy peaches. No social interaction. Nope. None whatsoever.

"Skylar?"

She burrows back into her little nest, whining quietly in discomfort.

"Are you alright?" Rae asks from the other side of the door, having not yet received permission to enter the premises.

"Y-yeah," the young woman manages to say. "I'm fine."

She hears him 'humph' through the door, then a few seconds of silence. A groan of relative relief leaves her, turning quickly into a squeak of surprise when her boyfriend storms in.

"You are not fine," he determines, frowning deeply. "Your voice raises a pitch when you lie, and I can hear you when you whimper."

Skylar turns a very bright shade of pink and pulls her head under the covers. But despite her humiliation, her heart tugs at how much he cares. No-one else would've noticed to this extent.

"Now, what's wrong?" He sits on the bed and gently pulls the duvet away from her face.

Her ears turn pink in embarrassment, and she avoids his gaze, mumbling incoherently. She can't look at him, and her stupid tear ducts decide that now is a good time to open the floodgates.

Rae's expression remains neutral, but his eyes shine with his panic. He softly cups her face, wiping her tears away with his thumbs.

It makes him distressed to see her bawling her eyes out, her nose turning red as tears roll down her cheeks. So he just holds her, letting her grip his wrists.

As she continues to sob, he lightly presses his forehead on hers, and hums a soft, even tune.

"Shh, shh," he hushes gently, planting a small kiss on her forehead. "Can you tell me what's wrong?"

Skylar lets out a choked laugh, hating herself for crying in front of him, "N-nothing's wrong with m-m-me, Rae."

He scowls at that, and subtly checks her over, turning her wrists up before taking her hands in his, "If nothing was wrong, you wouldn't be crying."

She shakes her head, too embarrassed to actually tell him what's happening.

Rae frowns and gently lifts her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes. Her brown eyes are bloodshot and swollen from crying, and they burn with flushed emotion that fluctuates every now and then.

It's when she groans slightly in pain that it clicks. His eyebrows rise in amusement and a small chuckle leaves his lips, causing his girlfriend to glare at him.

"You could have told me," he hums gently, pulling her closer as he places his warm hands on her abdomen. "I'm a biology and med student. It's not as though I'd be disgusted if you did."

Skylar slouches against him, mumbling moodily into his shirt. He's warm and comfortable, so who can blame her for seeking to snuggle.

"Well, now you do know," he tells her, speaking into her hair. "Do you want some Advil?"

"We don't have any," she moans unhappily, shifting to bury her nose in his neck.

"Did you try the kitchen cabinet?" Her silence tells him all he needs to know, "It's next to the vitamins."

Skylar sighs deeply, making a raspberry-type sound as she blows air into his skin. This makes him raise a brow.

"Are you done?"

She giggles childishly when he hums into her neck, his warm breath tickling her, "Nope."

Rae shakes his head, softly pressing a kiss to her nape before trying to get up. This action only results in a flustered girlfriend wrapping her arms around him, keeping him from moving without taking her with him.

He sighs deeply, feigning defeat. Though he smirks as her guard goes down.

In a blur of movement, he leaps up, picking up the woman in his arms as he stands. She squeaks in surprise, clutching onto him with a much tighter grip before hiding her darkly blushing face when he wraps her legs around his middle.

"R-Rae!" She squeals, stuttering from his unexpected move.

"Since you will not let me leave you alone, I am taking you with me instead," he smirks at her, enjoying her flustered state.

She huffs quietly, resting her head on his shoulder as he makes his way into the kitchen. If she's being honest, it's not all too bad. Not only is the position comfortable, it also has a fantastic view.

With a squeak from his girlfriend, Rae sets her on the kitchen counter, his lips quirking upward when she scrambles to grab his hand. It's adorable how clingy she is at the moment.

"It's alright, I'm just getting a glass," he pulls her forward a little to open the cabinet behind her.

When a tall glass is placed on the counter and a bottle of pain killers set beside it, he brings her hand up to his face, not taking his gaze away from her doe-eyes. He softly brushes his lips over her knuckles, watching her reaction with a unnoticeable smirk.

As predicted, the young woman becomes incredibly flustered and tries to hide her dark cheeks from his view. He uses this to his advantage and slides his hand out of hers with ease.

While she whines at her loss, he snatches the glass from the side and darts over to the sink to fill it. Adaption and distraction are key when one has an overly clingy partner.

Before she really has the opportunity to process anything, he hands her the glass of water, smoothly getting out two tablets for her to take. She frowns at his need to escape her, but swallows down the pain killers with no hesitation.

"Better?" Rae questions warmly, his hands ghosting over her waist.

Skylar makes a face, leaning her head on his chest, "Ask me again in half an hour."

He raises a brow in amusement, placing his hands on her hips as she halfheartedly tries to snuggle into him. His fingers trace gentle circles into her waist, making her hum in quiet contentment.

"Here," the young man offers, picking her back up with no protest. It takes zero effort for him to deliver her to the sofa, and zero regrets for the woman enjoying the view.

After he deposits her on the cushions, he pulls the lion fur-like blanket over her shoulders. She still doesn't want him to disappear again, but upon receiving a mildly stern look, she decides it would wise to not complain.

Skylar grumbles to herself while her boyfriend does something in the kitchen. Unlike usual, she requires attention, something not commonly expected from her, but she feels truly lonely without any kind of contact.

"Raaaaaae," she groans demandingly, despite knowing it won't speed things up.

"If I did that to you, you would take even slower," she smiles sheepishly to herself as she listens. "I assume you don't want that."

"No," she concludes unhappily, crossing her arms in a childish pout.

"There you are then," just as Rae appears again, two hands stretch towards him.

He rolls his eyes at her actions, getting onto his knees to hand her an item after placing a steaming mug on the coffee table. A warm pillow case finds its home nestled close to her abdomen, the hot water bottle doing wonders for her.

Watching her pained form curl around the source of warmth, Rae plants a small kiss on her forehead, slyly managing to tuck something into her hair.

She frowns a little and lifts a hand to discover this strange object when her fingers brush soft petals. If possible, her frown deepens, and she pulls the thing from her hair.

A tiny gasp of surprise leaves her lips at the recognition of what it is. A pink rose.

Rae smiles softly at her, taking one of her hands and entwining his fingers with hers, "Happy Valentines Day, dear."

Skylar smiles warmly at him, "Thank you. Happy Valentines Day."

He rubs a delicate hand along her jaw, softly caressing her cheek with his thumb, "May I kiss you?"

Her heart practically leaps at his question, and she finds herself blushing again, but he's far too adorable to deny. "Of course. You needn't ask."

Rae leans towards her, smiling quietly. "I'll always ask, my dear."

These two are too pure, I swear.

Hope you enjoyed!
