Chapter 2: First Times

Levi's POV

"No, it's not a date." I began to growl to Farlan, who wouldn't contain his laughter. "It's simple: taking an acquaintance with us for dinner. How is that a date?"

Farlan scoffs and smiles, looking down to the floor. "Oh Levi... Levi, Levi, Levi... you don't understand this, do you?" He began to wink at me and gave me a smirk. "What's simple is that she basically asked if you would have dinner, and you're the one who made the plans. Don't tell me you don't have feelings-"

"I don't have any feelings for her!" My voice began to raise a bit. I felt the blood rushing towards my cheeks and ears as I grew angry and flustered. Even my fists grew clenched as I sped-walked towards the Trost Hall... the very hall where Petra was staying. "Y-You got that?"

Once more, Farlan laughed. "Hey, I am majoring in psychology, Levi... and you know what I can tell from you?"

"What?"

"For one, you're stuttering and getting angry when I mentioned about the possibility of you liking this girl-"

"Her name is Petra."

Farlan's smirk grew wider with every second. "Now see? You corrected me on her name. This isn't some normal friendship, Levi... you got feelings for her. Now... if you say otherwise, explain it to me, okay? Explain why you're denying, getting angry, stuttering, and correcting me about possible feelings for Petra. Explain why."

I opened my mouth to begin to speak... but the weird thing... I couldn't say anything. I even planned it out in my head, and I can't get a single sentence out. "I-I'm angry... bothering... uh... Petra..."

"Well well... flustered, are we?"

I began to growl, shoving him a bit. "Oh shut up-" Using his finger, Farlan put it on his lips and smirks. He then points towards the front door of the hall, and when I turned around... "Petra..."

She was standing in front of the hall and looking... cute. She wore a light orange dress, which was speckled with different shades of orange, and the dress only went above her knees by an inch. It was also a sleeveless dress, but there was see-through straps over her freckled shoulders. In her ginger-colored hair, she wore an orange ribbon with a red maple leaf. In her hand, she carried a small handbag.

"W-Wow..." Just seeing her took my breath away; my fists slowly unclenched and I felt calmer.

Petra used her free hand and pushed her hair behind her ears, chuckling nervously as she steps down. "H-Hello... n-nice to meet you again..."

"A-And I you..." I slightly looked down and just stared at her.

A heavy weight then slammed into me, and I was pushed to the side. "Hello! I'm Farlan, this midget's friend-"

"Midget?!" The anger began to fill me up again and I pushed against Farlan. "Do not call me a 'midget' and not ever!"

Farlan just laughs and smirks... and that was before I heard Petra's beautiful and unique laugh. When I turned to her, a transparent color showed up on her face... like she was blushing. "A-Awe... that's cute... hey, are you guys getting married soon?"

"We just did!" Farlan responds, punching my shoulder. "Isn't my husband such a tease?" He says sarcastically, which made Petra laugh even harder.

I simply growled, shaking my head in disapproval. "D-Don't listen to him, Petra... Farlan tends to... be that one person who gets annoying from time to time."

"That's alright..." Soon, Petra began to compose herself from all the laughter. "It's actually nice to have those kinds of friends. Always there to pass the time and always there to make someone smile in joy and happiness. You're lucky to have this kind of friend, Levi..."

"You hear that?" Farlan began to nudge me a bit. "Come on! I'll get Isabel- you two can start walking to the restaurant, got it?" He says before racing away.

"Farlan!" I shouted, but he just ran and left us behind. "Such a friend..."

"I'm guessing the marriage is over now..." Petra chuckles as she brushes up next to me. A smile on her face wanted to make me smile. "Such a shame... I thought I saw some potential in that marriage. Would've loved to see some kind of family develop from that-"

"No... just no..."

Petra began to nudge me, laughing a bit more. "Levi... take a joke..."

"Let's just make it clear, alright? We're not married... he made that up. I'm... not into guys, alright?"

Within seconds, Petra's mood began to change. "L-Levi? It was a joke... I understood that it was a joke from the beginning. Listen..."

I smirked, chuckling. "Gotcha, Petra."

"Wait... that was a joke?!" I laughed as she began to freak out. "Y-You were faking that?! W-What?! I-I was freaking out over a joke?!"

"Hey Petra..."

"What?!"

"Take a joke." I smirked and began to jog away from her. "Catch me if you can..." I looked over my shoulder and saw her trying to run in her flat sandals. At least they weren't high heels...

She began to jog after me, but it seemed she was struggling a bit... so I slowed down. "I-I didn't expect to be running to dinner, Levi... what else is gonna happen that's not in a typical first date?"

"F-First date?" I stopped in my tracks, catching my breath and looking at her. "T-This isn't a date, P-Petra..."

"Well... to me, it seems like a date. Why else would I dress up all nice and fancy, huh? Or... did I mistake that for something else?"

My face began to grow warm within the cold night. "I... u-uh... I-I don't know... P-Petra..."

"Perhaps... I did mistook that for something else... sorry... I-I thought that I had a crush on you ever since yesterday..."

A crush? I turned to her with a bit of confusion and beginning to get flustered the more and more Petra began to speak. "P-Petra... you... had a crush on me?"

I watched her freeze in place as her eyes widened with realization. Did she accidentally let that slip her mind as she said that? "I... uh oh..." Her face grew red and soon, she turns around and covers her face. "Ahh! I-I can't believe I said that!!!"

Slowly, I walked up to her, feeling my heart beat faster and harder inside my chest. I realized I've been ignoring it for too long... I had that feeling when we met yesterday... and I kept it hidden because Farlan was beginning to tease me about her. Perhaps, I did love her too.

Petra turns back around, breathing heavily and fanning her face to calm it down. "S-Sorry for that... I guess it's not... good..."

"T-That's alright, Petra... I... I feel the same towards you..."

"I-I am so... so sorry- wait... you feel the same towards me?"

Even as I confessed about it in my mind, it was still weird hearing it get confirmed outside of my head. But, I exhaled a heavy sigh and nodded my head. "Y-Yes... I... I guess I do have feelings for you, Petra. I just... decided to hide it. Call it a crush or something... but yes. I know we only met for a day and-"

"Levi... um..." She then kisses on my cheek, all red and avoiding to look at me in my eyes. "A-Ask me out again... properly... like a date..."

I nodded, hearing my heart beat echoing in my ears and making me embarrassed. "P-Petra... do you want to have dinner with me?"

She chuckles, "Yes..."

Before I knew it, I kissed her. But it wasn't on her cheek, not on her hand, and not on her forehead. I kissed her on her lips...
