Chapter 1: Is This Love?

Petra's POV

Nothing is better than just relaxing under the beautiful trees in the beginning of summer. The sharp smell of the sun's burning rays on the flowers and trees... the natural music of the birds, butterflies, and bees... oh, it was just a beautiful gift in this time of years. This is the only time the sun burns down onto the planet and bring such a joy to the people around. Taking a deep breath and closing my eyes, it was just... relaxing overall.

When my eyes slowly opened, the world was a shade of blue... which was pretty amazing... and... there was something that seemed out of place. A shadow in the field. When I tilted my head, I realized it was a young man; dressed in a white buttoned-up shirt, dark brown vest, and dark blue pants. His hair was raven-black, and he seemed that he was lost.

Blinking my eyes to get rid of the blue tint, I began to walk over towards him. As I walked closer towards him, he then looks up. His cold, gray eyes looked up as I approached. "Did you want something?" His voice seemed cold, but there was something behind it... something that he hid.

"N-No... not really... just saw you out of blue - quite literally- and I just... wanted to say hi." The young man said nothing. But, I sat down next to him, smiling softly. "I'm Petra... Petra Ral. What's your name?"

"Levi... Levi Ackerman."

"Nice to meet you, Levi..." I smiled, holding out my hand for him. He just stared at it, scooting away from me. "You know... it's just a handshake... a greeting."

He nods, "Yeah... I know... I just... never thought you would come up here and... you know, talk. Add that to the fact I'm not the kind of person to be open to... friends..." He continues to shuffle away from me. "It's not you... it's just me... I apologize for making it seem that there's something wrong with you but..."

Levi chuckles nervously, shaking his head. "It's okay. I'm guessing you don't have a lot of friends, right?"

"Eh... a small posse, I guess. Isabel and Farlan. Nothing else..." He says, leaning back and looking up into the sky. "Not many approach me, and I'm fine with that. Rather be a lonely introvert instead of being in drama and stuff, like a normal person. You're one of the few that approached me for no reason reason..."

"Ah... heh..." My cheeks soon grew warm and I smiled gently towards him. "Let's just say... I'm not like the rest... do you... wanna be friends or something? Like... hang out?"

Levi sighs a bit, "I guess it wouldn't kill me to say yes to that... so... yes."

"Okay... now uh... w-we got that out of the way... um... w-what now?"

His shoulders shrugged and he gave a slight grin. "I don't know, Petra... you're the one that brought this upon yourself-"

"H-Hey!" Upon instinct, I pushed him - just gently - and giggled. "I just wanted to break the ice... and I have... I just... kinda didn't think... this would've worked..." I began to confess, and I couldn't bear to look Levi in the eye. I kept thinking that I've done something wrong.

"Well, it worked. How about... I bring my friends and we can have dinner... tomorrow night? 8 pm. Is that okay?"

I nodded, smiling a bit. "T-That sounds okay... um... how are you gonna get me? Via phone number... address... something like that or what?"

Levi just chuckles softly, "Oh... I mean, we can just meet up here... or I can pick you up at your dorm- what hall are you in? Not being weird or anything..."

"I'm in the Trost Hall... what about you?"

"Rosen Hall. I'll come by and pick you up... I'll text you when I will come and pick you up- can... I... uh..." His pale face soon began to light up with blushes. "I need your phone number in order to do that... can I have... I mean, can we exchange our numbers?"

I laughed softly, nodding my head. "Just give me your phone, and I'll give you mine. We'll input our numbers there... that way it's not all too confusing..."

He nods in agreement, swapping phones for only a second. After the phone numbers were inputted and saved into the contacts, we swapped them back. I looked down at his number, blushing a bit. He had my phone number... and I had his... we were complete strangers for a bit...

Then, Levi's phone began to ring. He groaned and picked it up, "Hello? Oh... y-yeah... I'm coming, don't rush me, Farlan." He says before he hangs up. Levi looks up and gave a small smile. "Well Petra, it was nice to meet you... I'll text you tomorrow when we're ready to go, deal?"

"Deal..."

Levi got up and began to walk away at a quick pace. I smiled as I watched him disappear from view as he walked off. My heart pounded as every second pass when he wasn't in view... and my breath grew jagged. Was there something wrong with me? My heart pounded with joy... could...
