Chapter 3

Nick grabbed Sam and dragged him into the house. "W-Wait!" Sam whined.

Nick laughed. "Haha! Nope!" He said, shoving Sam into the living room.

Sam huffed and then looked around. His eyes were wide with awe. The living room had a red brick fire place across from the door, a red sofa with gold throw pillows with a golden silk blanket draped on the couch, the floors were oak wood with a dark red carpet in the center of the room, a dark brown coffee table on the carpet, there was a chandelier in the center of the ceiling, and lets leave the rest to your imagination. All in all, it was a pretty damn gorgeous house.

"Go sit on the couch while I go get some snacks." Nick said motioning towards the couch.

Sam nodded and walked over to the sofa and sat down gently. He looked at the paintings that covered the walls. "Who are you?" A kind voice asked.

Sam squeaked and hid his face behind the pillow beside him. He heard a woman voice laugh. "Aww he's shy!" She cooed.

"Mom don't tease him." Nick said chuckling.

Sam removed the pillow from his face and saw Nick with a serving tray and a woman with strawberry blonde hair and green eyes, standing next to him. "But he's sooooo cute!" She whined.

Nick laughed. "I know!" He agreed.

Sam pouted. "A-Am not!" He huffed, puffing out his cheeks.

Nick grinned and walked over to him. He set the tray down on the coffee table. He wrapped an arm around Sam. "Sammy, this is my mom. Mom, this is Sammy." He introduced.

Sam blushed and looked at Nick's mom. "Just c-call me Sam." He said sighing.

Nick's mom giggled. "Well Sam, do you want to stay for dinner?" She asked.

Honestly, Sam was ecstatic. He hated his house. His mom was never home and when she was, she was verbally abusive. His dad however, was always home, but always drunk and physically abusive. He looked down at his hands. "A-Are you sure? I-I don't w-want to be a burden.." He asked with a worried face.

Nick's mom smiled. "Its no problem! Nicky never brings anyone over, so it'd be my pleasure!" She proclaimed.

Sam softly smiled. "W-Well...if its r-really okay.." He agreed.

Nick's mom clapped happily. "Yay! Alright boys, dinner will be done in an hour, so do whatever!" She commanded kindly.

Nick grinned and grabbed Sam's wrist. "Wh-Where are we going n-now?" Sam asked.

"To my room!" Nick declared triumphly.

Sam giggled, but then covered his mouth, blushing a bright red. "I-I..uhm.." He stutterer.

Nick smiled. "You're so cute." He stated.

Sam blushed and turned his head. Nick led Sam to his room. "Here is my room!" He declared.

Sam walked in and he grinned. His walls were covered with anime and video game posters, his bed had attack on titan bed sheets and blankets, he had soot ball pillows from spirited away, he had a computer on a computer desk with little anime figures, he had shelves on the wall opposite of his bed with anime DVDs and box sets, and finally, he had vocaloid and halo cardboard stnadees.

Nick fidgeted. "Don't laugh." He muttered.

Sam smiled and put a hand on Nick's shoulder. "I never knew you were a closet otaku." He said.

Nick looked at Sam and smirked. "Well I just met you today, smartie." He stated.

Sam grinned and nudged him. "Who else knows?" He asked.

"No one, you're the only one." Nick answered, sitting on his bed.

Sam's eyes widened. He walked over and sat next to Nick. "But..I barely know you. Why didn't you tell Chris? I thought he was your best friend." He asked.

Nick looked at him with happiness. "I would never tell Chris, he's not really my friend. And you..you're different. You understand me. You don't judge me, and you didn't laugh when I showed you my room. Its like, you've been my friend forever." He explained.

Sam smiled softly and hugged Nick, making Nick's eyes widen. Sam pulled back blushing, but he had a smile. "You are literately..the first friend...I made in six years." He informed.

Nick's eyes bugged out. "H-How old are you?" He asked, his mouth agape.

Sam giggled. "I'm sixteen." He replied.

Nick frowned then smiled. "I'm seventeen, and you haven't had a friend since you were ten?" He asked, holding Sam's hand slightly.

Sam blushed and averted his eyes. "I...uhh...yeah.." He said sadly.

Nick sighed and hugged Sam softly. "Whatever happens, I'll always be by your side.." He whispered in Sam's ear.

Sam gasped and he blushed. He felt his heart thump in his chest. Whats going on?! Why..why does it feel so right? Before he knew what was happening, he hugged back and tears leaked from his face.

Nick sighed and put a hand on the back of Sam's head and pulled him closer. Sam cried softly into Nick's shoulder. "Shh, its okay. You can talk to me." He hushed.

Sam looked up, his eyes red and puffy, and his cheeks tearstained and blotchy. "Nick.." He murmured.

Nick looked deep into Sam's eyes and Sam did the same. Their face becoming closer and closer. They both shyly closed their eyes, Sam blushed once he felt Nick's breath on his lips. They were millimeters away, closer, closer..

"Boys! Dinner is ready!" Nick's mom called.

Sam and Nick snapped their eyes open and quickly moved away from each other. "Kay! We'll be down!" Nick said standing up.

Sam stood up and followed Nick downstairs. His heart was thumping heavily in his chest. Oh my god..we almost kissed! I can't believe it..he gets into my head..He thought covering his smiling mouth.

They arrived downstairs ad Nick's mom saw Sam's tearstained face and red eyes. "Oh my lord! Sam, are you alright?!" She asked, walking briskly over to him.

Sam lowered his gaze to the floor. "I-I'm alright.." He lied.

Nick's mom knew he was lying, but didn't act on it. "Okay sweetie. Well, come to the dining room. I made a small meal today, I hope thats okay?" She asked.

Sam nodded quickly. "I-Its definitely alright!" He exclaimed.

Nick's mom giggled. "Okay, well come on." She ordered.

Sam walked closely behind Nick. He gripped Nick's shirt as they walked to the dining room. His eyes widened. The room was huge. It had red and brown walls, a looong brown dinner table with a red table cloth, there were six chairs that were brown and had red cushions, and there was another chandelier hanging above the dinner table.

Sam gasped and stared in awe. "Its s-so pretty.." He gushed.

Nick grinned and walked to his seat and sitting down. "Sit next to me!" He begged.

Sam smiled shyly and sat down next to Nick. Nick's mom rose and eyebrow. She had knowing smirk on her face. "Well..Betty! Bring in the food please?!" She asked.

A maid came in with a cart. She set the food on the table. Sam's eyes sparkled in delight. "W-Wow...this is way m-more food th-than I ever had in a week!" He exclaimed.

Nick and Nick's mom eyed Sam suspiciously. "What do you mean?" Nick asked.

Sam blushed and he looked down, his expression saddening. "Its...n-nothing..." He answered sadly.

Nick's mom and Nick looked at each other worriedly. After the meal was over, Sam left. Nick offered to walk him home, but Sam declined. Sam didn't want Nick to know the truth behind his life.
