Chapter Twenty
You swallowed hard as your eyes shot open, the darkness of your bedroom forcing your e/c orbs to adjust to the lack of light.
A deep frown formed on your face at the familiar arm that was draped over your waist lazily, forcing your body against the monster that slept behind you.
You hadn't been able to sleep a wink, but that didn't mean you couldn't act like it.
Namjoon explained to you that he would not be able to take you back to the real world with him...which, of course, you were upset about, but you understood.
He was from this place, and so he was able to move about between worlds as he liked...
Taehyung wasn't of much help either,
You had all but begged him to show you the way out of this place, but he insisted that he would not take sides against his brother...
Well, if he wasn't going to help you get out of here...
You'd do it by yourself.
With a shaky breath, you moved away from the sleeping man behind you, pausing momentarily as he stirred slightly in his sleep.
After a few seconds, his breathing returned to normal and you let out the breath you had been holding, slowly moving yourself away from him until you were completely out of the bed and out of his reach.
A strong sense of relief washed over you as you grabbed a hoodie from your closet, wrapping it around your body tightly before slowly opening the bedroom door and walking out of the room.
A door.
Namjoon had mentioned something about a door. A way for you to get out of this place and back to your world.
You speed walked down the stairs, being sure not to make too much noise for fear of waking up your captor, eyes scanning over the house as you reached the last step.
You had already gone over every inch of this house since you first started being pulled to this place and you had never seen a door that was out of place or different from the house in your world...Maybe he was referring to a metaphorical door?
You huffed out in annoyance, hand raking through your messy hair as you stepped into the living room, eyes moving over every inch of the-hold on.
Your e/c eyes widened slightly at the sight of a tiny door that rested in the corner of the room. It wasn't the big enough for you to walk through, but you'd be willing to bet that you could definitely crawl through it.
You shot into motion, falling to your knees in front of the door, hands gripped the cold metal of the handle, pulling on it with a silent plea.
The door didn't budge.
"Y/n? Baby, is that you?"
You froze in your spot at the sound of your captor raising from the bed the two of you shared, his footsteps filling your ears as he made his way out of the bedroom.
You didn't know what fueled your actions.
Whether is was adrenaline , panic or fear...you had no idea... but you instantly shot up.
You threw the front door open, panic beginning to overtake you as his footsteps began more frantic, feet falling swiftly against the carpeted upstairs floor as he called out your name.
"Y/n!"
You paid him no mind, shooting off into the outside world, pleading to god that you could find your own way outside of this hell.
You could hear him call for you...and when you didn't stop, he called for the others...he called for his slaves...he called for his brothers.
You ran.
You ran faster than you ever thought you possibly could. Your heart was practically leaping outside of your chest as you pushed past the numerous obstacles in your way, eyes set on the forest before you.
Your shoved open the iron gate to the garden, not even bothering to close it back as you knew it would be useless anyway...those people-those monsters, could easily tear it off it's hinges if they so wished to do so and waiting to close it would simple waste time.
A soft gasp left your lips as a strong tug pulled you to the ground, eyes widening as your body smacked against the cobblestone pathway.
The plants which you had once admired so, were now turning on you. The colorful snapping dragons had wrapped tightly around your ankle, the plant climbing upward on your leg as it began to wrap itself around the entirety of your body, holding you in place.
You struggled against the flower, body thrashing around in an attempt to rid yourself of the plant that had turned on you.
The distant sound of Jungkook's voice alerting the others to your location, seemed to be enough for your body to shoot into panic mode.
Your eyes landed on a pebble that rested within your reach....you hoped and pray that it would be enough.
You shot out, grabbing the stone and slicing the dangerous flora that had climbed it's way up to your waist.
You watched with relief as the plant quickly turned brown and fell limp, releasing you from it's clutches.
You quickly stood to your feet as the sound of the rusty garden gate filled your ears, footsteps being heard soon after that.
If they catch you...you're finished.
You turned on your heel, ready to continue running when your body collided with a firm chest, causing you to stumble backwards.
You moved your eyes to meet the gaze of the man before you, relief flooding through you as you stared at the familiar face.
"Taehyung.." You breathed out.
The blond-haired man didn't seem to be happy to see you, his blue eyes saddening as he watched you take a step forward.
"Y-You have to help me-"
"I told you this would happen, Y/n." He interrupted softly. "I warned you!"
Your eyes widened, feet moving backwards.
"Taehyung-"
"Did you really have to do this?!" He yelled. "Did you really have to throw your life away like this?!"
Your body began to shake as his deep voice ran down your spine, arms wrapping around yourself protectively.
"I-I can't stay here!" You argued. "I want to go home! I want to leave!"
Taehyung shook his head.
"Don't you get it?" He snapped. "You can't leave! Any hope you had of leaving was gone as soon as he gave you that ring!"
You swallowed hard.
"I-I don't understand-"
"If you put that ring on your finger.." He paused. "You're sewing a piece of him into you. You're becoming a part of this world...You'll never be able to leave...but if you don't...He'll kill everyone you have ever loved."
You remained silent, mind struggling to come up with a response to him.
"He may have been willing to wait for an answer before," He continued. "But, you've angered him now...he will demand an answer...and he will demand it tonight."
You shook your head slowly, eyes filling with tears as you moved your gaze to the blond man.
"Then let me go." You whispered. "Let me leave. I-If I leave this place, he can't force me to come back, he can't take me bac-"
"You know I can't do that." He hissed. "I tried to give you a chance. I tried to make everything better. But my brother-"
"ARE YOU BLIND!?" You yelled. "That-That monster has tortured you! He's cut you into pieces and treated you like you're garbage! He doesn't care about you! He is not your brother anymore, he's your slave master! It makes no difference to him whether you live or die, can't you see that!?"
"Of course I can!" He yelled, gripping your shoulders. "But I am powerless against him. I have always been powerless. Even if I wanted to-You belong to him now, Y/n. There's nothing any of us can do to change that...there's nothing we can do to save you."
You jerked away, trying to pull yourself out of his grasp as he took a step forward, eyes widening in realization.
"Taehyung, please-"
"I'm sorry."
A cry of desperation left your lips as he hoisted you into the air, draping your body over his shoulder as he began his trek back towards the house you had worked so hard to get away from.
Your fight or flight instincts instantly began to take over your body, hands sending blows to his back and feet trying to find some way to get you out of his deadly tight hold on your waist.
"Put me down, Taehyung!" You pleaded, tears flowing from your eyes. "You don't have to do this. Please!"
Taehyung remained silent as he walked out of the garden, not even glancing in the way of his other brothers as he continued to walk towards the house.
You didn't see Taehyung's face, or the way his own eyes began to fill with tears as you sobbed against his back, begging for him to release you.
But it would be pointless.
This world doesn't reach as far as yours.
Even if he did let you go...you'd only be running in a circle.
Your body tensed as the blond-haired male reached the steps of the front porch, his brother's standing outside as he entered the house alone with you in his arms.
You shivered as you took in the distinct differences in the home. The usually light-colored wallpaper was now dark and covered with some kind of mold. The usually sweet-smelling kitchen now smelled foul like death and rot. The once silent floorboards now creaked beneath Taehyung's feet as he walked into the study, the door slamming shut behind him on it's own.
The room was dark. The only source of light came from the fire place where the flames ate at the wood placed inside.
A grunt left your lips as Taehyung placed you down in a chair, his hands gripping your wrists and holding them against the arms of the chairs.
A hiss of pain left your parted lips as the wood of the chair suddenly snapped around your wrists, securing your arms in one place.
You gasped as the back of the chair also began to move, the wood shooting out across your torso and pinning your back against the cursed piece of furniture.
You tried to struggle, but that only made your bonds tighten to an even more painful degree.
Taehyung backed away from you, his eyes soft as he took in the tear stains on your cheeks.
"I'm beginning to think you don't like me, pet."
Your body went rigid at the familiar voice that flooded through the room, the calm tone almost unnerving as your eyes landed on the man in question.
Jimin sat on the couch across from you, his body still adorned in his silk pajamas.
"Leave us, Taehyung."
The bond hesitated.
"Master, she's just scared. You don't have to-"
"I said leave!" Jimin snapped, standing to his feet. "When will you learn to keep your mouth shut?"
Taehyung swallowed, nodding his head before walking towards the door.
"I will wait outside."
Your breathing became labored as Taehyung closed the door, leaving you alone with the monster before you.
He was quite.
Too quiet.
He didn't utter a single word as he stared at you, eyes overflowing with disappointment and fondness.
It was unnerving to try and think about what may be going through his mind as he watched your chest heave from all of your running...Was he going to kill you? Was he going to cut you up like he did Taehyung?
"I did try my best to make you happy, baby." He started slowly, hands reaching for a steaming coffee mug that rested on the table. "I wanted nothing more than to whisk you away from that terrible place and away from all your troubles."
Your eyes narrowed.
On the inside, you were terrified, but you refused to let him know that.
"I want to go home." You spat. "I want you to let me go."
He took a sip of his drink, eyes hardening at your words.
"Is that anyway to speak to your fiance?" He asked.
You leaned forwards, eyes boring into his.
"You are not my fiance." You gritted. "You are nothing."
You flinched as his cup shattered in his palm, hands shaking from his poorly hidden anger as he leaned forwards, placing his hands on the arms of your chair.
"Apologize at once, Y/n."
You stood your ground, refusing to let him intimidate you.
"No."
He leaned back, nostrils flaring in anger.
"I'll give you to the count of three." He said, holding up his hand.
You glared at him.
Was he really going to treat you like a child!?
"One."
You remained silent, eyes narrowed.
"Two."
His voice held more emotion this time, his anger beginning to leak through his facade as you, once again kept quiet.
"Three!"
A cry of pain escaped you as he gripped your broken wrist, pulling you up from the chair that had held you hostage as he threw the study door open angrily, alerting Taehyung to your presence.
The blond man, who had been leaning against the wall, instantly straightened up as he watched Jimin drag you by your injured hand, blue eyes widening instantly in realization.
Oh god.
Not that place.
"W-Wait! Master!"
Taehyung's voice fell on deaf ears as Jimin pulled you towards a the mirror at the end of the hallway, his eyes even darker than usual.
You screamed in agony as he squeezed your wrist, forcing you to stand upright.
"You're hurting her!" Taehyung yelled.
Jimin turned on a dime, eyes narrowed at his so-called brother.
"I will deal with you, later."
Taehyung swallowed hard, watching as Jimin threw you into the reflective glass, your body disappearing behind his reflection.
Your chest heaved as you looked around the dark room, eyes struggling to adjust to the lack of light.
Jimin peered in, his upper half showing as he leaned through the mirror.
"You may come out when you've learned to be a loving wife."
You opened your mouth to speak, but you were too late, in an instant he was gone, leaning out of the room and leaving you alone with nothing more than your thoughts.
You banged your good hand against the wall, ignoring the agonizing pain that shot through your other hand.
"Let me out!" You yelled. "Let me out of this place!"
You screamed and cried until your voice gave out. Trapped in a room with nothing more than an old bed and a small blanket...
You couldn't help but wonder....
What was he going to do to you?
A/N,
That was an extremely intense chapter and I loved writing it.
Sadly this book is almost over. I would say we have somewhere between two and eight chapters left, but I may keep it going a bit longer to give it a clear ending.
However, after this book is finished, I will be publishing a new book with an entirely different setting and plot. I have spoken about it before, but I haven't actually had the time to work on it, since this work will be complete, I thought; "Why not?"
So I am excited and I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Love you!
-Max
