Chapter Twelve
"I'm really okay."
Your voice came out stiff and stuffy as you leaned forward on your couch, elbows resting on your knees as your e/c orbs watched the fire burn in the fireplace.
Jimin took a seat beside you, his black eyes scanning over your features as he watched your every move.
He could tell that something was wrong with you. You barely spoke a word since you had come back into his grasp, your eyes were distant and cold and you avoided his touch like he had the plague.
In short, the black-haired man was not at all pleased.
He didn't like the fact that you were blatantly dodging him and his affection. You were designed for him and he for you. He had made this world perfect for you, the least you could do was show him a small amount of love.
"Baby," He purred, scooting closer to you, his arm wrapping around your small form. "You've been acting strange since you came back to me...It hurts me to see you like this. Why don't you just tell me what's going on?"
You flinched underneath his touch, slowly moving away from him.
"I just feel uncomfortable with you holding me right now." You deadpanned.
Jimin furrowed his brows in confusion, trying his best to keep his mouth shut.
"Why?" He gritted out. "Have I done something wrong?"
You shook your head, avoiding his gaze.
"Not you exactly.." You sighed heavily, running a hand through your hair. "I broke up with Jimin today."
......
"You did what?"
Your brows crashed together at the deep tone in the raven-haired man's voice, gaze snapping up to his as you tilted your head.
His eyes were squeezed closed as his jaw tightened beneath his skin.
You had never seen this Jimin wear such an angry look..which worried you.
"I broke up with him." You stated. "We weren't working out and I was tired of always making excuses for his behavior."
"So, you're breaking up with me?"
You frowned in confusion, breath hitching as his eyes snapped open to meet yours. The black void of his eyes darkening in an unknown emotion.
"Wh-" You paused. "I don't understand what you're asking me-"
"Are you ending it with me!?" He snapped. "Are you trying to leave me, Y/n?!"
You flinched back at his tone, body jerking away from his.
"N-No." You stated.
Jimin glared at you, gripping your wrist harshly, effectively stopping you from moving further away from him.
"Then why won't you let me touch you?!" He growled. "Why do you keep trying to get away from me, baby?!"
Your chest heaved beneath your shirt as your tried to remove yourself from his grip, his sudden change of mood almost giving you whiplash.
"Y-You have his face." You said. "I-I just don't want to think about him being near me anymore."
The laugh that poured from his lips could only be described as sinister, the very sound of it sending chills down your spine as you watched him move closer.
"Do you think I am going to let you leave me like you left him?" He asked. "Do you think I'll let you walk out on me!?"
"You're not real!" You screamed. "This is just a dr-"
Your words were cut off with a gasp as Jimin suddenly altered your positions, his arms pulling you down harshly as he hovered over you on the couch.
You stopped breathing as you watched him move closer, his hands pinning your wrists down as he glared at you.
"You are so full of yourself," He growled lowly. "You think you're species is the only living thing in the universe? You think your subconscious is really powerful enough to create a world as complex-as beautiful as this one? Are you really so prideful that you refuse to see exactly how much work I put into making you happy to be here?! To be with me!?"
Your eyes were wide as you listened to him scream at you, his expression darkening with every single word he spoke.
"Y-You're scaring me." You stated breathlessly.
He laughed.
"So selfish," He breathed, finger tracing the outline of your jaw. "Don't worry, baby. They say even the proudest spirit can be broken.."
You flinched as a sharp sting shot through your cheek, the feeling of warm blood trailing down your skin as Jimin leaned forward, his lips brushing your ear as he continued.
"With love."
"Y/n!"
Your body shot upwards, a loud gasp escaping your lips as your chest heaved violently. Your body went into defense move, hands shaking as your eyes scanned the room you were currently lying in.
You could feel hot tears streaming down your face as you looked around for any danger that may be coming your way.
You felt cold and utterly terrified as your mind flashed back to the image of Jimin laying above you, his dark eyes piercing through your soul as he smile evilly at you.
"You- You had a nightmare?"
Your eyes shot up at the familiar voice that sounded from beside you, gaze landing on the familiar figure of your ex-boyfriend, his dark brown orbs watching you with worry.
You could tell that he probably hadn't slept very well the night before. His thick-rimmed glasses did little to hide the dark bags that rested underneath his eyes and his blond hair was tousled, sticking up in all different directions.
You slowly nodded, briefly forgetting the events that had taken place the day before.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked softly, brown orbs scanning over your figure carefully.
You opened your mouth to speak, ready to tell him that you were fine and that you didn't want to speak with him...
But that isn't what happened.
A soft sob left your parted lips, your e/c eyes filling with tears as your mind continued to replay the events that had taken place, your brain trying it's best to comprehend what exactly had happened.
You placed a hand over your mouth, trying your best to keep your cries quiet, especially in front of the man you once had a deep connection with.
Jimin's eyes widened at the sound of your quiet cries, body jumping forward as he shot into action.
He wrapped his arms around your figure, making sure to keep his embrace secure and warm as you cried into his chest, body shaking underneath his touch.
Jimin almost let out a gasp as your skin briefly came into contact with his.
You were so...cold.
The blond reached his hand out, grabbing that rested on the back of the couch and draping it over your small form, making sure to keep your warm.
In all honesty, when he had woken up to find you had somehow made your way back into the house, he thought that you may have changed your mind about him moving out...He had cooked a breakfast for the two of you, ready to apologize for everything he had put you through for all of those years...
But when he heard your crying in your sleep the only thing on his mind was keeping you safe and making sure you were alright.
And that was still the only thing on his mind.
Even as you cried into his chest.
"I've got you." He soothed, placing a kiss on your hair and resting his chin on your head. "No one is going to hurt you, baby. I'm right here."
Surprisingly, the words that came out of his mouth managed to slow down your erratic heartbeat, your shaking body beginning to relax beneath the warmth that his body and words produced.
You didn't know why, but this Jimin felt so different from the Jimin you had come to be familiar with...the Jimin who has been screaming at you only moments ago.
Something about the way this Jimin held you made you feel secure. Safe. While anytime the other Jimin touched you, you felt as though you needed to bathe and get away from him....Even when you weren't terrified of him.
In that moment, the break up was the last thing on your mind, you could only focus on calming yourself down...
"You're going to be okay." He breathed out. "Just breathe."
You nodded, following his instructions and taking a long, deep breath and slowly pulling away from him.
Your body jerked as you hiccuped quietly.
Jimin's brows furrowed slightly as he leaned closer, hands coming to rest on either side of your face, the pads of his thumbs wiping away the stray tears that had fallen from your eyes.
Your hands gripped the blanket that rested around your shoulders, pulling it tighter around your form as Jimin's eyes inspected you from behind his glasses.
His heart ached as you hiccuped from the tears, eyes never meeting his as you cuddled into the warmth of the blanket.
"I-I don't-" You sniffed. "I don't remember leaving Yoongi's.."
Jimin shushed you quietly, shaking his head.
"It's okay." He stated. "That isn't important right now."
You nodded slowly.
"I thought-I thought he was going to kill me."
Jimin's brows furrowed as you spoke of the unknown man, hand tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
"You're safe now." He stated. "I won't let him hurt you. I won't let anything hurt you, baby."
Neither of you seemed to notice the doll that watched the scene unfold.
It's once happy smile now changed into a menacing glare.
A/N,
I'm actually scared right now.
Like...dang.
Imma go hide in a corner.
Love you.
-Max
