Chapter One
"You've got to be kidding me."
Your voice came out as a grumble as you stood with your arms crossed over your chest, your e/c eyes scanning over the large house before you with distaste and annoyance.
You had been dragged across the country for this?
When your boyfriend told you about his promotion a few weeks ago, you were happy for him and ecstatic that he could continue doing what he loved while getting paid more money...but then he told you that he would have to relocate and your enthusiasm instantly dropped.
Since the the two of you had been living together for about two years, he told you that he expected you to go with him, which meant leaving behind all your friends and family....you were certainly less than thrilled about that...
But you knew that your relationship wouldn't be able to survive if he went far away from you...After the incident a few months ago...the two of you already weren't on good terms.
You barely had a conversation longer than five minutes. He was always too caught up in his work to pay attention to you and you were still quite angry with him for what had happened....
You almost left him.
But you didn't...He begged you to stay with him...saying he would be better to you, and like an idiot, you believed him...
Nothing changed.
He still ignored you, working harder than before...you two hadn't gone out in a long time, let alone shown any affection. At first, you tried to initiate skinship, but he always shrugged you off, telling you that he was busy and you were distracting him..
In all honesty, you didn't know why you were still together, he clearly didn't want you around anymore...and you were beginning to get used to his constant absence...You deserved better than that.
It wasn't always like this, though.
You used to be crazy for each other.
When Jimin first asked you to be his girlfriend, you were two kids who were madly in love. He would always do sweet things to surprise you. He'd kiss you out of nowhere and even give you massages. He was kind and thoughtful..and he always put you first.
But now it was like he couldn't stand the sight of you...and the feeling was mutual.
You had drifted apart. There was no use in denying it.
You had a small hope that the two of you getting away from the city and away from the distractions would help you relight the spark that used to be between you....Maybe you would be able to save the relationship that you once had.
Maybe.
"I know it's not ideal," Jimin started from beside you, two large boxes in his arms. "But this is is all the company could get, so you'll have to get over it."
You sent him a glare as he walked past you, into the large house.
You resisted the urge to speak your mind, deciding it would be better not to fight since the two of you had just arrived.
Your eyes scanned over the house again, doing a once over of the pink building.
You shuddered, a feeling of unease climbing up your spine.
Something about this place was weird.
"You must be the new neighbor."
Your body jerked slightly at the new voice that filled your ears, your e/c gaze moving to the man who now stood beside of you.
He looked to be a little bit taller than Jimin, his form lean and slightly muscular. His hair was a light of brown, the chestnut locks were cut short and ruffled in a messy fashion. His clothes were slightly dirtied, probably from the mud that surrounded this cursed place.
He sent you a large square-shaped smile, a chuckle escaping him.
"Did I scare you?" He asked.
You shook your head, giving him a halfhearted smile.
"N-No." You lied. "I just got a little chilly."
He smiled, extending his hand to you.
"My name is Taehyung." he stated. "Kim Taehyung."
You slowly grabbed his hand, shaking it.
"Y/f/n y/l/n."
He laughed, tilting his head.
"You're not from here, are you?" He questioned, his eyes taking in your appearance. "You're not used to the rain."
You shrugged your shoulders.
"Is it that obvious?"
He nodded his head.
"I'm afraid so," He stated. "But, don't worry...standing out here is a good thing."
"Really?"
"Of course!" He exclaimed. "Everyone else here is so boring. It's nice to see someone like you."
You eyes him strangely for a few moments before turning your attention to the house.
"Do you live in one of the apartments here?"
His brown eyes widened slightly, head shaking instantly.
"Oh no." He said. "I live with my aunt on top of the hill. She's the one who owns the house."
You hummed in understanding, his reaction confusing you.
"I see."
"I'm actually surprised she let you move in." He stated, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
You furrowed your eyebrows.
"Why?" You asked. "Does she not like people living here?"
Taehyung hesitated for a few moments, his gaze falling to the ground.
"Well...it's not that exactly..." He started. "She's just very particular with who she lets live here...There was an accident a while back and-"
"Y/n."
Your head snapped up at the deep voice that spoke your name, eyes moving to the door of the house.
Your boyfriend stood on the large porch with his arms crossed over his chest defensively, his eyes hard and sharp as he shot daggers to the man in front of you.
You almost rolled your eyes at his behavior.
"I've got to go unpack." You stated, turning your attention to Taehyung.
The chestnut male nodded his head slowly, swallowing hard as he stared at Jimin.
"Alright." He said, moving his gaze to yours. "Maybe we can talk later?"
You nodded your head.
"I'd like that."
He offered you a small smile before taking a few steps backwards.
"Until next time, Y/n."
You chuckled at him, watching as he began to make his way home.
You ran a hand through your hair before turning on your heel and walking up the porch stairs and making your way into the house, pushing past Jimin and ignoring his presence entirely.
"Really?" Your boyfriend chimed from behind you, slamming the door shut.
You huffed, picking up one of the many cardboard boxes.
"Really." You countered, beginning to make your way up the stairs towards your bedroom.
"So, you're going to be flirting with other men now?" He spat.
You stopped walking, sending him a hard glare.
"I wasn't flirting." You gritted. "And even if I was, would you blame me? You have barely spoke to me since we left California."
He clenched his jaw.
"What do you want to talk about?" He asked. "It's not like we haven't talked before."
You huffed.
"Anything." You deadpanned. "I would settle for talking about anything."
He frowned, shaking his head.
"I have work to do." He stated. "I'm too busy to talk right now."
You bit your lip in anger, laughing coldly at his words.
"You're always busy." You complained.
"That's right I am." He spat. "I'm too busy for all of your drama."
You scoffed.
"My drama!?"
He nodded.
"You're always complaining about something." He said. "You always want something from me. You want me to cuddle, you want me to hold your hand, you want me to take you out for dinner. You never give me a break."
"You're my boyfriend!" You exclaimed. "Is it so wrong for me to ask for a fraction of your time?!"
" Yes, it is!" He yelled. "I'm already stressed enough as it is, with all my work! You certainly aren't helping by being so clingy!"
"I want to help you with your stress!" You stated. "That's why I'm here! I love you, Jimin. I just want to see you happy. I want both of us to be happy."
He sighed, running a hand down his face.
"I'm too busy for you right now."
You nodded your head, giving him a cold look.
"It's funny how you're always too busy for me," You started. "But, you certainly aren't to busy to have sex with another girl, are you?"
The blond's eyes widened at your words, running a hand through his hair as he watches you climb the staircase.
He almost chased after you. He almost grabbed your hand and asked you to talk to him. He almost tried to make things better between the two of you...
But he didn't.
He just scoffed at your actions before walking into the dining room and setting up his work laptop.
What he didn't realize...was that if he had just reached out to you...he could have avoided what was going to come.
_______________________________________________________________________________
A smile covered the black-haired man's face as his hands finished the stitching of the small doll that rested on the large desk in front of him, it's e/c button eyes staring back at him lifelessly. It's h/l, h/c hair styled to perfection...every single detail was perfect.
It looked just like you.
He slowly touched it's face, wishing that he could feel your skin instead of the burlap that the small doll consisted of.
He had been waiting for you for so long...and now..you were here.
And you were unhappy...
Perfect.
He had tried so long to find someone just like you...he had taken numerous others that had resembled you in appearance...but none of them were ever enough for him. He didn't want them.
He wanted you.
Only you.
Ever since he first saw you all those years ago...he craved you.
He gently stroked the doll's head, giving it a soft kiss as he spoke softly.
"Soon." He breathed, opening the window beside of him.
His hands released the doll, allowing it to float freely into the black abyss that surrounded the house.
He knew the doll would find you.
He never failed in getting what he wanted
and this time wasn't going to be any different.
A/N,
Well, the first chapter has been completed successfully.
Whew.
I promise that things will get better from this point. Just be patient.
I love you.
