Chapter Nineteen
You couldn't stop your hands from shaking as you stared down at the food in front of you. The sound of cutlery scraping against the fine china plates filled you ears as well as the conversing of the numerous people that sat at the table, all of them either laughing or debating something pointless.
From the outside, you were sure this seemed like a normal family dinner. People laughing, delicious food being eaten...but in all reality...this was hell. This was your hell.
You were surrounded by the familiar faces of your closest friends from the real world, but you didn't know any of these people...You didn't know how far they would go to serve their master and keep you locked in this hell for the rest of your life.
Taehyung sat beside of you, eating his food as if nothing bothered him...He didn't speak as much as the others did, but he would certainly throw in a pun here and there...His presence was oddly comforting to you...You couldn't pinpoint why, but you had a small amount of trust in the blond-haired man....even if he refused to help you get back home.
"You aren't eating."
Your body jumped at the deep voice that spoke up, silencing everyone at the table as their dark eyes landed on your figure.
Jimin's gaze inspected you carefully, his hand reaching over to grab hold of yours.
You flinched as his skin came into contact with your own, hating how terrified you were in that moment.
"I-" You cleared your throat. "I'm not hungry."
Jimin raised an eyebrow at your weak excuse, his grip on your hand tightening in a warning manner.
"This party was thrown in your honor, babygirl." He spoke with venom. "You don't want to be rude, now do you?"
You gritted your teeth, deciding it was best to keep your thoughts to yourself, or end up with another broken body part.
You jerked your hand from his, reluctantly grabbing the fork sat beside the steaming plate of food and taking a few small bites.
Jimin beamed at your obedience, his expression showing how giddy he was to finally have you listening to him without throwing a fit.
He watched with amusement as you ate, enjoying the uncomfortable expression that rested on your beautiful features.
You had changed into the outfit he prepared for you; A midnight blue silk dress that clung to your every curve as he had designed it to do... He had begun making that dress for from the first moment he had seen you...and although it wasn't the only dress he had made with you in mind, it was certainly one of his favorites...
You felt uncomfortable under the crazed gaze of the monster that sat beside you, your body shivering ever-so-slightly as you struggled to maintain your composure and keep your emotions under control.
"I'm sure you're wondering why I've gathered everyone here tonight," Jimin smiled at you.
You froze in your seat, glancing around the table, eyes taking in every single face.
"Uhm. I-"
"Tonight is a special occasion," He continued proudly, his smile widening. "Tonight marks eight years...Eight years since you came to me."
You swallowed hard, not liking where this little speech was heading.
"I can still remember the first time I saw you," He breathed, hand stroking your cheek gently. "You were so beautiful. You were wide-eyed and full of life, something that all of us had been deprived of...You were my small sunshine...My only piece of light in this dark world..."
You blinked rapidly as he continued speaking.
"I have waited for you patiently." He stated. "And now that you're finally here with me...I want to make sure that I never have to wait for you again..."
Your eyes widened as a warm grip covered your injured hand gently, apply very little pressure to the wound.
Your gaze moved over to Taehyung, whose eyes stayed trained on his brother, but his hand remained firm over yours, making sure to keep your hands out of Jimin's sight.
Was he trying to comfort you?
A gasp left your mouth as the black-haired man gripped your free hand, forcing your attention back onto him just in time for you to watch him kneel down before you onto one knee, a small box in his hand.
Oh god, no.
You felt yourself beginning to get sick as you watched him open the little box, revealing a small, golden ring with a black diamond resting directly in the middle, the jewel glittering in the light.
"You are my everything, Y/n," He breathed. "And now I'm asking you to be mine for all eternity. Will you marry me?"
Your body shivered as you stared at the black jewel, heart pounding in fear as you weighed your options. If you told him no, you'd probably end up being hurt or at least someone would...if you said yes...well, there was no telling what he would do if that happened.
"I-I don't-"
"If you say yes," He interrupted. "Our souls will be one for eternity...You will be as much a part of this world as I am...our lives will be stitched together and sewn into the fabric of this utopia that I have created for you and you alone."
Taehyung's grip on your hand tightened slightly as if he could sense your distress.
"Can-Can I think about it?" You asked. "I don't want to make such an important decision in an instant."
Jimin smiled at your request, his hand releasing yours as he sat back down in his chair.
"Of course, baby." He hummed, kissing your cheek. "I trust that you'll make the right decision."
You nodded, opening your mouth to fake a yawn.
"Well, it's been a long day...I think I'll go to sleep now."
The black-haired man's brows furrowed.
"Already?" He asked. "But you haven't finished dinner yet-"
"I don't think she's feeling well Jimin," Taehyung suddenly stated, standing to his feet. "She had told me earlier that she felt a bit lightheaded from her injuries."
Taehyung was smart enough to know that mentioning your broken wrist would be enough to guilt Jimin into letting you go without further questions...and from the look that came across Jimin's face, you could tell Taehyung's plan had worked.
"Alright, go on to bed then," He sighed, grabbing the ring box. "But take this with you, I want you to think look at it and picture our future together."
You swallowed, nodding slowly as you hesitantly grabbed the cursed box before turning on your heels and practically speed walking out of the dining room and up the stairs.
A heavy sigh of relief passed your lips as you closed the door to your bedroom shut, clutching the ring box tightly in your grasp as your chest heaved.
The thought of staying here forever was enough to make a single tear roll down your cheek. You hated this place. You wanted to go home and never EVER think about the terrors you had been forced to encounter.
"You look nice."
Your body froze at the familiar voice that filled the air, head snapping up as your eyes gleamed with hope.
Namjoon sat on the end of the bed, his eyes trailing over your shaking form as he slowly rose to his feet, watching as you moved forwards.
"N-Namjoon?" You breathed. "I-Is that really you?"
The black-haired man nodded slowly, his own breathing becoming a bit shaky as he took you in.
"I'm so sorry, Y/n." He stated. "I never should have left you alone."
You ran forwards, wrapping your arms around the tall man as you held onto him tightly, burying your face in his chest as tears began to pour from your eyes.
"I-I'm so happy to see you." You sobbed. "I hate this place. I-I want to go home."
Namjoon's heart broke at your cries, his hand hesitantly raising to stroke your soft, waved hair.
"I know, baby." He cooed. "I am so sorry about this. I am so sorry about everything."
You shook your head, pulling away from him slightly.
"It isn't your fault. I-I just want to leave."
He shushed you gently, hands cupping your face as he brushed away your tears.
"I-I can't take you with me," He said honestly. "I have risked everything coming back here to see you...but I had to make sure you were safe...I hear about that monster breaking your wrist and I-"
"How did you hear about that?" You asked, raising a brow.
Namjoon opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by another familiar voice.
"I told him."
Your body stiffened as you turned around, coming face to face with the blond man you had grown closer to.
"T-Taehyung?" You asked. "B-But how could you-"
"I told you that Taehyung wasn't as innocent as he seemed." Namjoon interrupted, placing his hands on your shoulders.
You ran a hand through your hair as you tried to process all of this information.
"S-So you're the Taehyung from my world too? The one I met my first day here?"
The blond remained silent, moving his gaze to the black-haired man behind you.
"You shouldn't be here." He said. "If Jimin finds out that you've returned, he'll hunt you down and kill you."
Namjoon sighed.
"I know." He started. "But I had to see her...I had to know she was safe."
"She isn't safe!" Taehyung snapped. "No one is safe here, least of all her! I told you when you first arrived to get her to safety and instead, you wasted time and kept her here and now, Jimin is growing more and more powerful."
Namjoon let out a huff of air, running his hand through his dark locks in frustration.
"He wouldn't be growing so powerful if she was in her world," He stated. "If you would just-"
"I've told you before," The blond interrupted. "I take no sides. I will not help you defeat him. You had your chance to end this, and you squandered it....now there is nothing anyone can do."
Namjoon growled in frustration.
"You could do something!" He argued. "You could help her escape-show her where the door is help her get through!"
"And get myself killed in the process?!"
Namjoon shook his head in disappointment.
"Of course." He said. "It's always about you. You've always been selfish, Taehyung."
The blond took a step backwards.
"It doesn't matter now, anyway." He breathed, motioning towards you. "He's given her the ring."
Namjoon's eyes widened as his eyes took in the small box in your hands.
"Oh god." He breathed.
Your brows furrowed.
"What?" You asked. "What does it mean?"
Taehyung shook his head.
"It means the game you've all been playing...
It's almost over."
A/N,
LAFHASDHF;JFKDFNGUIERH
THIS ONE WAS INTENSE, BUT I LOVED IT!
Plot twist about the Other Taehyung being the Real Taehyung, huh? I quite enjoyed writing that.
Anyway,
I love you!
Bye!
