Chapter Fourteen
"Are you sure it's supposed to look like that?"
Your eyebrows were furrowed together as you stared at the thing that had been placed in front of you.
"I honestly have no idea."
You and Jungkook tilted your heads in unison, trying to find some clue as to what concoction Namjoon had created for the rest of you to eat.
He said it was pizza.
It didn't look like pizza.
It had been two days since Namjoon had moved in with you and you were still anxious around him. What he had said about "the other world" and his "brother" unnerved you to the point that you hesitated to even speak with him. He didn't seem to mind and kept his distance from you, only speaking to you when he had a question or needed something...
You knew he was probably just saying those things because he was delusional...but you couldn't help but feel a little bit safer now that he was around you....Maybe one day, you'd get up enough courage to ask him about this "other world".
Your dreams have stopped since Namjoon arrived, which was quite shocking to you. You used to dream about that place every single time you fell asleep and sometimes even when you didn't remember closing your eyes...But since he's arrived...you haven't seen a peak of that place and it was a giant relief...
You still didn't sleep much, for fear that the dreams would somehow come back and you'd, once again, be faced with an angry black-haired Jimin...
You shivered at the thought.
Namjoon also seemed to like having Jimin around, which kind of bothered you...He wouldn't speak to him much, but whenever you would ask Jimin how far along he was with packing, Namjoon would pull you aside and beg you to give Jimin another night in the Pink Palace...which was odd because the two didn't seem to be close at all....
"Maybe it's a special family recipe.." You muttered.
"Or maybe he's trying to kill us."
You playfully smacked the red-head's arm, causing a hiss of pain to fall from his lips as he rubbed the spot you had hit.
"He wanted to do something nice for us," You scolded. "Don't insult his cooking."
Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"I wouldn't be insulting it, if it looked like actual food."
You frowned.
"I'm sure it's not that bad."
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders, moving his eyes to you.
"Still," He hummed. "I think I'd rather eat something else-"
The sound of a throat clearing brought the two of you back to reality, eyes snapping up to land on Jimin's figure as he walked into the dining area, a steaming cup of coffee resting in his hands as he slowly approached the two of you.
You took in the sight of his white-button up shirt and black slacks, his blond hair was combed to the side and styled while his thick-rimmed glasses that usually set on his face were no where to be seen.
"You look fancy." You observed nonchalantly, turning your attention back the glob-pizza in front of you.
He nodded, taking a sip from his mug.
"I'm going out tonight."
"With friends?"
"With a woman."
Your eyes snapped to the red-head beside you, his words shocking you.
Jungkook's jaw tightened as he watched Jimin narrow his eyes, clearly not enjoying the fact that Jungkook had said something like that.
You frowned as Jimin's eyes met yours.
"Why would you say that, Kookie?"
Jungkook turned to you, motioning towards your ex.
"He's all dressed up, his hair is fixed and he just slipped breath mints into his pockets."
Your brows furrowed as you looked at Jimin.
"Really?" You deadpanned, crossing your arms.
Jimin nodded his head, eyes raising to meet yours.
You shrugged your shoulders, ignoring the way your heart clenched in hurt and anger.
"Have fun." You snapped.
"Y/n-"
"You better hurry along, don't wanna keep your date waiting." Jungkook interrupted lowly.
You listened as a deep sigh left Jimin's lips before he was walking out the door, leaving you to your thoughts.
You honestly knew he would find someone else, and the thought didn't exactly give you the greatest pleasure, but you never thought he would be able to move on from your relationship so quickly, you knew that you were still struggling with letting go...even if it was for the best.
You should have expected this, though. He always managed to find someone else even while the two of you were together...But, that didn't make this any easier to handle.
"Hey," Jungkook's voice pulled you from your thoughts. "Don't worry about him, okay? He's a dick and he didn't deserve you."
You smiled softly at him, watching as he scooted closer to you.
"I know." You chuckled out. "He better not bring that girl back into my house."
Jungkook laughed, shaking his head.
"If he does, I'll come over and cut of his balls."
You ruffled his hair, playfully.
"There will be no need for that." You said. "But I swear to god, if I am stuck listening to moans and screams all night, I am going to shoot him."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, leaning closer to you.
"How about this?" He started, voice lowering into a whisper. "If he brings a girl back, I'll come over and make you moan and scream even louder than the slut he's with."
Your eyes widened slightly at his words, face heating up and turning a light shade of pink as he moved in closer to you, nose gently bumping against yours.
You swallowed hard, heart pounding in your chest as his tongue darted out to lick his bottom lip.
"H-How would you do that?"
You honestly couldn't tell if Jungkook was truly coming onto you or if this was some kind of sick joke he was playing with your sex-deprived body..but in that moment you really didn't care.
He hummed, placing a small kiss on your jaw.
"Let me stay the night.." He purred, leaving another burning kiss on your skin. "And I'll show you."
"That's not going to happen."
You let out a gasp as a firm hand gripped your forearm, pulling you up from your seat and moving you to stand behind a broad body.
You frowned, expecting it to be your ex boyfriend only to find Namjoon standing with a hard expression on his face as he glared at the red head.
You furrowed your brows at his behavior. You would expect something like this from Jimin, but Namjoon had been so quiet since arriving...you didn't know what triggered his sudden bursts of emotions, but you were beginning to get annoyed with him.
"Namjoon-"
"I think you should leave." His deep voice interrupted you, eyes narrowing on the red-head.
Jungkook frowned, brows furrowing.
"What's your problem?" He asked. "You don't own her. She's a grown woman, she can make her own choices-"
"Leave." He growled. "Now."
A large part of you wanted nothing more than to push Namjoon out of the way and tell him to mind his own business, but a small part of you knew that if Namjoon was acting this way...surely there was some kind of reason behind it....
He knew way more than he was letting on..and you couldn't help but feel like you should trust him...no matter how stupid the idea may sound.
"I-"
"Jungkook." You interrupted, grabbing his attention. "I'll see you at dinner."
The young man's eyes widened in shock at your words, a look of hurt flashing over his face as he slowly nodded, giving Namjoon one last glare before grabbing his coat and marching at out the door.
You sighed heavily as the door slammed shut, running a hand through your hair.
"What was that about?" You snapped.
Namjoon glanced around the room, eyes never meeting yours as he walked away from you, into the living room.
"Hey!" You yelled, chasing after him.
"Where's Jimin?" He asked, turning to face you. "He wasn't upstairs and I can't seem to find him down here."
You gritted your teeth, beginning to feel all patience slip away from you.
"He went out." You stated.
Namjoon frowned deeply at your words, head shaking.
"No." He breathed. "He shouldn't have left the house. He needs to be here with you!"
You furrowed your eyebrows as he pushed past you, running into the kitchen where the land line was connected.
"It's fine." You said. "He has a life away from me and I have one away from-"
"You don't understand." He interrupted. "Jimin is the only thing that is keeping you out of my brother's clutches, if he isn't here to protect you then-"
"I don't need protecting." You deadpanned. "And if I did, Jimin would certainly not be my choice."
Namjoon stepped towards you, face stern.
"You don't have a choice." He gritted. "Do you want to go back to that place? Do you want to be trapped there?"
"I-"
"Don't try and tell me it was only a dream, we both know better." He snapped. "The only reason that you even managed to come back to this world is because my brother allowed it....now that you've been apart for so long, I doubt he will be so generous the next time he has his hands on you."
You stared at him with wide eyes, mind struggling to process what he had just told you.
You took a deep breath.
"Wh-What are you?" You asked softly. "And what is that god forsaken place? And why does that monster look like Jimin!?"
Namjoon ran a hand down his face, exhaling through his nose.
"I am going to help you," He stated. "That's all you need to know."
You shook your head, taking a step backwards.
"No way." You scoffed, crossing your arms. "If you expect me to trust you, then you had better start explaining right now."
Namjoon huffed, seeming to hesitate.
"What do you want to know?"
"Everything."
