Chapter Eighteen
Jungkook cleared his throat nervously as his eyes scanned over the familiar wood of your home's door, his hands shaking as he adjusted the color of his button-up shirt, his grip tightening around the small bouquet of wild flowers he had picked for this occasion.
He swallowed hard, running a hand through his hair.
"Calm down, Jungkook." He scolded. "You've seen her numerous times...this isn't any different."
He raised a hand to ring the doorbell, halting himself just before he could press the button.
He cursed at himself, bringing his hand away from the doorbell as he struggled to collect himself.
"God, why is this so hard?" He sighed, running a hand down his face. "Just push the button, Jungkook...and when she answers, you tell her how beautiful she is...simple."
He glanced down at the hand-picked flowers, biting his lip.
"Simple." He repeated.
Doubt lingered in the back of the red-head's mind. What if you rejected him? What if Hoseok was right and you still loved Jimin? What if Jungkook was about to make a fool out of himself.
He didn't understand this. He had never been nervous with a woman. Not ever...but whenever he flirted with you, or told you a dirty joke, he would find himself blushing-BLUSHING for god's sake!
He groaned in annoyance, rolling his shoulder's back.
"Come on, Jeon." He started. "Don't pussy out."
With swift motions, his hand shot out, pushing down the little button, causing a loud ring to sound throughout the house before him.
Jungkook's stomach dropped at the sound of approaching footsteps, his eyes widening as he quickly checked his reflection in the window beside the door, palms sweating.
He jumped as the door opened, arms straightening as he shoved the flowers in the direction of the door.
"You look beautiful today-"
"Jungkook?"
The red-head nearly screamed as his eyes scanned over the familiar figure before him, mood instantly dropping at the familiar fluffy hair that he had come to despise.
"Jimin." He greeted coldly.
The blond man raised an eyebrow as he took in the boy's snazzy appearance. His hair was neatly combed and styled, his clothes were neatly pressed and wrinkle-free and his hands were full of brightly colored flowers.
Jimin frowned.
"What are you doing?" He asked, a judgmental tone resounding in his voice.
Jungkook cleared his throat, eyes peeking inside the house.
"Where's Y/n?" He avoided the question. "I need to speak with her."
Jimin's brows furrowed at the question, arms crossing over his chest.
"She isn't home at the moment." He gritted out.
Jungkook frowned at the tone of his voice...there was something written on the blond's face that he couldn't make out...some kind of fear that laced his words.
"I didn't see her leave." Jungkook explained. "And her car is still in the driveway."
Jimin cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Taehyung took her to town." He lied. "She should be back soon."
The red-head took a step forward, hand shooting out as Jimin attempted to close the door in his face.
"Taehyung hasn't been here all day." He explained. "I would have heard him pull up the drive. Where is she?"
Jimin's eyes narrowed at the accusation.
"I already told you," He started. "She isn't here."
"You're lying."
The blond shook his head.
"Go home, kid." He said. "You have no idea what kind of trouble you'll get into if you stay here."
Jungkook growled.
"Is that a threat, Park?"
Jimin's expression fell at the younger man's words, eyes narrowing as he took a slow step forward.
"It's a warning." He corrected. "Go home."
Jungkook watched as Jimin moved to close the door, pausing before turning his back on the red-head.
"Y/n isn't a flower kind of girl." The blond stated, glancing at the wildflowers. "You'll need to up your game if you wanna take her from me."
The young man opened his mouth to speak, only to be cut off as the door slammed shut abruptly, leaving him all alone on the covered porch.
A frustrated huff left Jungkook's lips as he stared at the flowers in his hand, biting his lip as he moved to stare at the large house in front of him.
Something wasn't right about this place...He didn't know what Jimin was trying so hard to hide...
But he was going to find out.

"I'm not going in there."
Your voice was shaky and unstable as you stared at the door before you, chest heaving as you struggled to control your breathing.
Taehyung frowned, running a hand through his blond hair.
He knew you would react like this.
When Jimin had told him to fetch you for dinner, he had assumed that the last thing you'd want to do is sit down and eat with the man who literally snapped your wrist in half.
Taehyung didn't blame you for not wanting to go. It was understandable especially after everything that his brother had put you through...But it wasn't his place to pity you. He was here to follow orders. No more. No less.
He ad experienced Jimin's wrath first-hand...the last thing he needed was another scar on his already-damaged body.
He pitied you...but he was determined to stay out of his brother's affairs, after all...he didn't know you that well...the only reason he had gotten close to you at all was because he was ordered to do so.
"Look," He huffed. "My orders were to get you into that dining room andthat's what I'm going to do. Don't make me drag you in there."
You took a step backwards, sending a panicked look to the man beside you.
"Don't." You gritted. "Don't touch me."
The blue-eyed man took a step forward.
"My brother is not a patient man, the longer you refuse, the angrier he'll get."
You shook your head, wrapping your arms around yourself protectively.
"I don't care." You stated honestly.
Taehyung's brows crashed together at your response, his expression hardening as he gripped your good wrist, holding it up in front of your face.
"You don't care?" He repeated coldly. "Do you want him to snap this wrist as well? Or maybe break your legs?"
Your eyes slowly met his as you jerked away from his grip.
"Let him." You spat. "I don't care if he hurts me. I don't care if he breaks every bone in my body. I don't even care if he kills me-"
You let out a gasp as Taehyung gripped the back of your neck, pulling your face closer to his.
"Are you an idiot?" He snapped quietly. "My brother won't kill you. He loves you too much to ever kill you...but that doesn't mean he won't do whatever it takes to make you submit...even if it means killing those people from your world...even if it means killing all of your friends."
You looked away from him. The blond man didn't miss the way your eyes slowly filled with tears as your body began to shake under his grip.
"I can't-" You breathed. "I can't go in there."
His expression hardened.
"Why not?" He spat. "Are you really that stubborn-"
"I'm scared!"
Those two words caused Taehyung to freeze in his spot, his blue eyes widening slightly as he watched a single tear fall down your face.
He had been watching you since you returned back to this place...he had seen you angry, frustrated and even sad...but scared? He had never seen that.
Even when his brother broke your wrist...no fear shown on your face....only anger.
But now....
"He-He scares me, Taehyung." You whispered weakly. "God-I'm terrified of what he'll do to me-to the people I love...I-I can't face him."
The blond man had never seen you so vulnerable...even though he was your enemy...you stood before him...showing your weakness.
He had only ever known survival...he couldn't understand why you let down your guard so easily...especially after he had told you that he was obedient to his brother.
He hesitantly pulled away from you, clenching his jaw.
"Fear won't go away." He stated. "You can avoid it all you want...but it won't go away until you face it...Until you face him."
You wiped your cheeks swiftly, remaining silent.
"Please don't make me do this." You pleaded, eyes meeting his.
For a moment, Taehyung felt his resolve begin to crumble.
For a single moment, he wanted to tell you to go back to your room....he wanted to tell you that he'd handle his brother...but he knew he couldn't...even if he wanted too...he was too weak...Jimin was so much stronger than him....You made his brother stronger...even if you weren't aware of it...your presence in this place made his power grow.
"He'll know if you're afraid." He stated, thumb wiping your cheeks in on swift motion. "It will only make him angry if he knows you fear him. The best thing you can do is obey him...Listen to him and show him the love he craves.."
Your gaze darted between his two, blue orbs.
You knew that you weren't going to get out of this dinner...and you think Taehyung knew that too.
The blond haired man tugged down the sleeve of his shirt.
"Do your best not to anger him."
You only nodded, watching as he turned the handles on the large doors.
"Here we go."
