Epilogue
Pitter patter, pitter patter
The droplets of rain hitting the umbrella filled the dead silence. It seemed like the weather wanted to join in on the pain that enveloped me. I crouched down, making sure to wipe off the fallen leaves off of the stone, Kim Taehyung.
"Hey there, bro." I tried my best to smile because I know that he doesn't like seeing someone sad because of his actions. My hand traced his name that was beautifully engraved in the polished stone, "It's been 3 years."
My emotions got the best of me and before I could even comprehend it, tears started dripping on the already wet stone. I quickly apologized to him, knowing that somehow he'll be able to hear me. "I'm sorry, Tae. I just really miss you so much."
I started to chat with him, telling him about what happened the past few days since I last visited my friend. From the way Seokjin hyung finally found out the recipe to the chicken recipe from his favorite fast food place, to how Jungkook was now able to talk to girls without freaking out.
Laughter filled the cemetery as I continued chatting with my best friend, my soulmate.
"Oh and about your baby." a grin spread across my face. "She looks a lot like her dad, very artistic too! my fridge is almost filled with her artworks." The image of the little girl struggling to put up her new drawing up made me chuckle.
I took a seat on the wet grass beside him, making myself comfortable. Sighing, a happy sigh, I said"She's in great hands, your baby-"
"APPAAAAA"
The familiar meek voice could be heard from every single part of the cemetery due to how loud her voice is. She ran towards my direction, completely dry since the rain has stopped pouring once I heard her shouting for me.
"Appa, you left something in the car." She said, panting. "Eomma has it."
"Oh, where's Eomma?" I said before taking the little girl by my side, telling her to crouch down beside me.
"This is uncle Taehyung." I said to the little girl, keeping my hand on the cold stone.
"He's a stone?" The little girl asked, making me grin. Well what did I expect from such a young mind like hers.
"No, he's an angel. He's watching over us every single day." I explained to her. I watched as her eyes slowly widened in realization.
"That's so cool! Hello uncle Taetae." She smiled and waved at the tombstone.
"Oh yeah, where's eomma?" And as if the gods heard my question, I heard her the familar soothing voice shouting for the little girl.
"NABI-AH! WHERE DID YOU RUN OFF TO?" She shouted, the missing bouquet of flowers in her other hand, so that's where that went.
I couldn't help but stare at the love of my life. Her brown eyes that shined brightly like stars, her brown luscious locks that I always play with while she sleeps, her whole being. I love her so much, she's my butterfly.
"Eomma, here!" Nabi shouted for her mother, waving her hands rapidly.
The latter hurriedly ran to our spot, relieved since she knows that her daughter was safe the whole time.
"Say hello to uncle Taetae!"
"Taehyung-ah..." I started, holding my wife's hand and playing with her ring. "I hope you don't mind me loving Y/N."
Y/N smiled, even hitting me softly on my arm. "We terribly miss you, Taehyungie." She continued.
She handed me the flower bouquet and sneered, "You forgot it in the car."
"What could I ever do without you."
"Nothing." She smiled at me, that precious smile. I hope that never leaves your beautiful face.
~~~~~
"Time of death, 10:13" Dr. Kim announced.
"N-No... you're probably mistaken." At this point, my tears were flowing rapidly.
I felt so bad, I already lost a best friend and losing her may just make me lose it.
"I'm so sorry, Mr. Park." Dr. Kim patted my back. He understands me, he also lost his best friend.
"I believe her... she won't leave us; she won't leave me!" As if on cue, the heartbeat monitor started to beep, could it be?
"Well, your belief is stronger than mine, she's alive. Wait- SHE'S ALIVE!" Dr. Kim went to her aid to check on her.
And that's when I dropped to my knees in relief, she didn't leave me.
~~~~~
We bid our goodbyes and headed for the car. I held little Nabi in my arms as she slept soundly, tired from running around all-day.
"She's really tired, isn't she?" I muttered quietly, not wanting to wake the baby up.
"She is..." Y/N replied before looking at me, smiling genuinely. She placed her lips on mine for a solid 3 seconds before pulling away, "I love you, Jimin."
It's been years since we got married, but she never fails to make the red blush cover my cheeks. "I love you too, Y/N."
Now, I'm not scared of letting go of her hand. I'm not scared of time passing us by. Because now, I know that she'll always stay by my side.
...my butterfly
~end of butterfly~
