Chapter 14

Following the several knocks were mischievous snickers and giggles which were very distinguishable.

"No way." I muttered under my breath. How could my dad know the seven young men when I never mentioned them whenever I call?

I heard a low giggle from my dad, who was looking at me with a genuine smile. "Come in!" He suddenly exclaimed.

The doorknob twisted, revealing seven men whose faces are covered with various gifts. A bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates, some even held baskets of fruit. My heart immediately warmed at the sight.

The seven men removed the items from their faces and smiled at us. "Surprise!" They exclaimed altogether.

I approached the men with warm hugs, engulfing Taehyung who was holding the bouquet of flowers. The boys cheered for I don't know what reason; all I know is that I'm feeling the happiest at this moment.

"SAY WHAT?!" I could not believe what I was hearing. "Wait, wait... you want me to go to Jeju with seven men that you guys don't even know and leave you two here?!"

"That kinda hurts, Y/N." I could hear the youngest of the seven say. "Do you not trust us? We won't get you into any trouble."

"I-It's not that, Kookie. I just-"

"Well... we don't need to worry about your safety since you have here your dear friend, Taehyungie." She said and I almost choked on my saliva.

"M-MOM?!"

She just chuckled as she waved around eight tickets to Jeju that will depart tonight. Does she want to get rid of me or something?

"Mom, I can't go. I haven't been working well in the hospital for two months and I think it's a bit irresponsible of me to go on a vacation when I have been working sluggishly and in and out for that long. Plus, I can't leave now that dad just woke up."

"Honey, I already called up Dr. Oh and he said it was alright for you to take a vacation to get your mind off of things. This vacation will be good for your mental health, sweetie. So just take the tickets, and go pack up some of your leftover clothes from our house."

"I-I can't mom. This is very unprofessional of me and I-" I was about to make another excuse but Namjoon cut me off.

"Ma'am it's okay if Y/N doesn't want to go. We understand her point and we should respect it." He said while nodding slightly in my direction. But I could see that he was hurt in his eyes, all of them were hurt by my words.

Immediately, I want the ground to just open up and gobble me up. I feel so disappointed in myself since I didn't even think about my words before speaking up. So, I just embraced the situation and gave in.

"O-Okay... I'll just try to refund this." My mom said as she was about to put the tickets away.

I grabbed her hand, shocking her and the others, "I changed my mind." I said with an honest smile.

~~~~~~~~~~~
"S-So... welcome to my parents' house." I said to the boys who were behind me, taking off their shoes to show respect and not make the floors dirty.
I made my way around the house, it was almost exactly how I remembered it to be. It was still spotless as ever, the throw pillows on the couch were all fluffed up, the rug freshly vacuumed; mom is still as a clean-freak as I remember.
The boys also started to roam around the house. "Your couch is so comfy." Yoongi said as he started to snuggle into the pillows. I chuckled at the sight of him closing his eyes and probably already dozing off.
"The art pieces are so pretty!" Namjoon exclaimed in excitement. "Cool you even have a collection of figurines."
From a distance, I could hear the happy voice of the youngest, "An indoor workout room?! AMAZING!!!"
I felt a tap on my shoulder, "Y/N-ah, where's your kitchen?" Seokjin whispered in my ear. I grinned and pointed to the direction of the kitchen, to which he scurried off.
After a few minutes, I could hear some music being played out from the speakers. "Your house is so cool, Y/N" Hoseok complimented and I nodded as a reply. I watched him start to sway to the music and eventually flexing his dancing skills.
Shaking my head, I made my way to my room why was down the hall. Our house only had one floor since mom wanted a simple and minimalist home. I opened the door and saw my room, which was still clean, exactly the way I left it a few months ago.
I looked at my watch, 11:03 am. I have a lot of time to pick out my stuff before I leave. I took a good look around my room first before heading to my wardrobe.
My wardrobe was half-empty. I placed my chin on my hand and started to think about some outfits that I will wear for a two-week stay in Jeju.
I started to pick-out some cute sweaters and jackets, I even grabbed some thick jackets in case it gets really cold. I also picked this cute black wool-knitted long-sleeved dress with a turtleneck and a nice black beanie to match.
I also took out an attractive winter denim ensemble which would look really good with the knee high brown winter boots that I have.
The rest of the outfits that I picked were very minimalist, consisting of various shirts, coats and scarves.
I took out another one of my big luggage bags and started to fill it with my clothes and other essentials, not necessarily packing those that I can just buy at Jeju. I also grabbed a medium-sized chic backpack and placed my important stuff there, phone, earphones, and a pack of my favorite mint chocolate chip cookies that I sneaked out to the kitchen to get.
I sighed while closing up the bag and started to look around the room in case I forgot to bring something. Unknowingly, I started to stare at one of my pictures that I couldn't remember when it was taken. It was me in a hospital gown, breathing thanks to the oxygen tank which was beside me, and I was holding up a V sign.
I started to feel woozy, the ground started moving and I don't know why. My eyes started to close and my head came in contact, thankfully, with the soft bed, whereas the rest of my body collided with the floor.
Soon enough, loud and rushed footsteps were heading to my direction. And I felt my body being carried to my bed.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Slowly, I opened my eyes. I could feel the softness of the pillow that was hugging my head and the velvety feel of the comforter that was wrapped around my frame.

The window showed a sunset, which I found was weird. "Did I really sleep that long to wake up at the afternoon." I muttered and looked at the clock which was beside me, 5:31 pm.

"What happened?" I was about to exclaim when I saw a figure that was also inside the room, making me silent.

From the corner of my eyes, I could see a silhouette that was staring at one of my pictures. I started to recall the events from earlier, it was the picture that I was looking at before I fainted.

"So... I finally found her."
