but failed.

Her hug was firm, yet gentle,
and it comforted Ryuu.

With her arms wrapped around him,
he felt a connection.

He patted her hair,
trying to calm her down.

"I'm here."

He said.

And those two words were the only things she needed to hear,
the only things she yearned to hear,
but no one was there to tell her so,
until she met him.

The atmosphere was once again calm, peaceful,
all the pain had gone away for now.

Locked in a tight embrace, the two found refuge in each other's company.
