I woke up the next morning. I suddenly remembered that I was going to Jordan's house. The time on my phone said 10:30 AM. I quickly put on some rainbow pants and a blue t-shirt. On the t-shirt it said feeling cool today.

I rushed downstairs into the kitchen. Mom, Dad, and Ashley were eating breakfast.

"Good morning sleepy-head." Ashley greeted.

"Hey! I am not a sleepy-head." I protested.

"Let's pack our car. Vanessa, you can eat breakfast." Mom said.

I got a bowl and some milk. I poured the cereal and milk into the bowl. Dad and Mom walked over to the front door. It had 2 suitcases and a small backpack. One suitcase was for Dad and the other one was for Mom. The small backpack was for Ashley.

Ashley got out of her chair and helped Mom and Dad lift the suitcases. The three of them walked outside. I saw through the window that they were walking towards the car.

I continued to eat my cereal when I heard ping!. I looked at my phone and saw that it was a text from Miranda.

Miranda: Hey! You doing something?

Vanessa: Yeah. I'm packing up to go to Jordan's house.

Miranda: :O That's awesome! How long are you staying?

Vanessa: I don't know. More than a day.

Miranda: Cool!

Vanessa: Talk to you later. I got to go now. Bye!

Miranda: Bye!

I turned off my phone. I was finished eating breakfast. I walked upstairs into my room and got my backpack. I brought it downstairs, outside and into the car.

"Looks like we are all packed up." Mom said.

"Yep. Let's go!" Dad agreed. "What's the address Vanessa?"

"It's 27 Apple Road in Springfield in Illinois." I replied.

Dad, Mom, Ashley, and I piled into the car. Dad started driving. I took out my earbuds and plugged them into my phone. I started listening to music. Ashley started talking to Mom and Dad but the music drowned their voices out.
