I heard another ping. I texted Miranda.

Miranda: Did you ask Jordan what he likes?

Miranda: Did you?

Miranda: Answer me Vanessa!

Vanessa: Yes?

Miranda: Did you ask Jordan what he likes?

Vanessa: Yes, I did. He said he likes dogs, puppies, soccer, strawberries, and restaurants.

Miranda: Do you know what type of breed?

Vanessa: Yes, Shih Tzus.

Miranda: Cool! Are you going to get him one?

Vanessa: I was thinking about getting him a Shih Tzu puppy and a new soccer ball.

Miranda: Great! Shih Tzus are so cute! :)

Vanessa: I was also thinking about visit his house for Christmas. 

Vanessa: I got to go. I might talk to you later. Bye!

Miranda: Bye!

I turned off my phone. Maybe I should go to the store today and buy Jordan a soccer ball. 

"Mom?" I called.

"Yes?" Mom called back.

I ran downstairs into the kitchen where Mom was cleaning the dishes.

"Can Ashley drive me to to the sports store?" I asked.

"No. She is busy. But I can take you!" Mom answered, sounding excited.

Mom and I got into the car. She started driving. After 15 minutes we reached the sports store. 

"Why do you need to go to the sports store?" Mom asked.

"I just need to get something for Jordan." I answered.

"Okay." Mom said.

I walked off where the balls were located. I saw basketballs, bowling balls, tennis balls, and I saw the soccer balls. They each had a name carved into them. I picked one up. In the soccer ball the word "Jordan" was carved into it. It was perfect.

I walked back to where Mom was standing. She was looking at skateboards. Mom picked one up.

"You ready?" Mom asked.

"Yep." I replied. "What are you doing with that skateboard?"

"I'm buying it for myself." 

"Oh Mom. Please don't do this to me."

"C'mon. It's okay honey."

We walked to the cash register. The cashier scanned the soccer ball and the skateboard. The cashier looked up at my mom. Mom didn't seem to notice. She handed the cashier a 20 dollar bill. We walked back to the car.
