I sat on my bed, continuing to play Best Fiends on my phone. I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said, not looking up from my phone.

Mom came in. "Is everything alright?" Mom asked.

"Yes." I lied.

"Okay," Mom exclaimed, not questioning further. She left my room.

I continued to play Best Fiends for 10 minutes. I decided to call Jordan.

"Siri. Call Jordan." I said.

My phone screen was put on call. I called Jordan. Someone picked up.

"Hello?" I said. "This is me, Vanessa."

"Hello Vanessa." It was Jordan's voice.

"Oh hello!" "I have to ask you something."

"Go ahead."

"What do you like?"

"I like dogs, puppies, soccer, strawberries, and restaurants."

"Thanks!" I exclaimed. "Do you like a certain breed of dogs?"

"Yes. I like Shih Tzus." "One more thing Vanesssa."

"What is that?" I asked.

"Nevermind." Jordan said dismissively. "Bye,"  

"Bye." I hung up.

I was thinking for a Christmas present I could get him a new soccer ball. And maybe a Shih Tzu. Also, as a surprise my family and I could drive to his house. I wonder if he'll get me anything for Christmas.

I fell asleep. I slept for 2 hours. It was already lunch time. I rubbed my eyes.

"Vanessa! Ashley! Lunch time." Mom called.

"Coming!" Ashley called back.

"I'm not really hungry. I'll just eat a banana." I called.

I ran down the stairs into the kitchen and grabbed a banana. I turned around to run back to my room. Dad walked into the kitchen.

"Not so fast Vanessa. Could you tell me why you aren't hungry?" Mom asked.

"I don't know." I answered. I was telling the truth. I really didn't know.

Mom turned to Dad. Mom said something to him. But I didn't hear what she said. I ran upstairs into my room with my banana. I sat at my desk and started to eat it. Ping! It was my phone. I got a text message from Miranda. I didn't want to answer it. I felt a little groggy.
