You sat there with your head against the table, if Link returned now, he would have thought you'd stayed there all day. The overcast nighttime skies had begun to cry above Hateno Village. Link was going to get wet out there while hunting...

You heard the thunder rolling in the skies, the atmosphere was cold. "Where are you....?" You felt a slight shiver run up your spine as you mouthed those words, desperate for him to be by your side right now. "Link!"

Lightening struck a nearby hill as tears started to pour out from your e/c eyes. It was all very dramatic, the crying, the thunderstorm, the rain, the loneliness. Shadows filled every corner of his little house, the only candle you had bothered keeping lit was the one on the table. You didn't move an inch, you just let your head rest there on the table, your eyes carefully watching the candle as you felt yourself fading into the new pain in your thighs that was left behind by that sword.

"You failed yourself! Now Link is going to find out and he'll think it's all his fault!!! You're supposed to be saving him!"

Words of anger, hate, loneliness, poison laced your words. You hated that you couldn't save Link, it killed you inside to see his hurt surfacing on his outer shell.

"I WANT TO DIE!"

...

You felt a hand on your shoulder as someone learnt down and sweetly tenderly you on the cheek, bringing sweet silence to your world. You lifted your head up slowly, shyly showing you red puffy face of tears to Link. Every time you looked into those blue eyes of him, you felt lost once again. "Here..." You even felt lost in words. He held out his hand to you, and you took it carefully. "Up..." He helped you to your feet. He held out one hand to help guide you up to his bed, while he used the other hand to carry the candle from the dinner table.

Link placed the candle on the bedside table, and he pulled back the covers of his bed for you to climb into. You didn't speak any words after you assumed you heard him yell out that you wanted to die. So you remained quiet beside him in the flicker of the candle light. He wrapped his harmed arms around your lower back, pulling you close to his chest. He carefully ran his fingers through your h/c hair, trying to calm your whimpering heart.

10 minutes of blissful silence passed while you kept close to Link. Occasionally he'd kiss your forehead, while other times he'd rub your back.

And then, events took a turn...

Link carefully played with the hem of your shirt, trying to tempt you. You quickly reached for the hem of your shirt and tugged it down, preventing Link from being able to pull it over your head. He looked into your eyes with concern. You knew what he wanted to do to you, and you knew he'd find out about your wounds... As much as you wanted to do this with him, you didn't know how to handle the situation without offending him.

You looked away shyly from him, a blush slightly evident as it was illuminated by the only light in the room coming from the candle.

"I won't look... I promise..." Link hushed you as he leant over to the candle and blew it out. The two of you fell into the darkness of the night together.

And so he slowly bought his mouth up to yours for the first time that night, with many more chances to come.
