Everything faded back into your view. From darkness, appeared what seemed a familiar place; Link's house. And upon further examination, you found yourself in Link's bed. The house was dimly lit with the lanterns placed around for lighting.

You tried sitting up, but you felt a massive weight in your chest that pulled you back down. Link came up the stairs to the platform where the bed was. In his hands was a bowl of mushroom soup. "Sorry, it seems mushrooms were the only things we really had in the cupboard." He sat the soup on the bedside table then helped you sit upright with your back against the wall. "The soup needs to cool..." he said quietly.

"What happened?... why does my chest ache?..." You asked in confusion as you still tried to figure things out.

"Well, I think you froze over, literally. When I found you, you were ice cold and pale. I was so scared, I kept shaking you trying to get you to wake up... But I figured you may have passed out from too much cold or something?...is that possible?" "I don't know... But thanks for bringing me back, Link..."

You looked over at the soup and reached for it. Link helped you with it, he was even going to spoon feed you, but you stopped him before it got that far. "Uhm, thanks."

After you had finished the soup, Link deemed it necessary you sleep and recover from your blank out.

"Y/n! Y/n!" You heard Link crying out your name in your sleep. You shook your body, but all you could see was darkness. You tried opening your mouth but the only words that spoke was from your mind. "Link! Link! Link where are you!?" You could feel hot tears spilling onto your cheeks, and you body was shaking in fear. "I can't save you! I can't save you!" Your mind kept repeating, you didn't want it to say this and you didn't want Link to hear it either. "Link, you're going to die and I'll live the rest of my life sad because of you!"

"Y/n! Y/n!" Your eyes snapped open, wet from tears. "Y/n!" Link hovered over your face, his blue eyes practically glowing in the dark. You felt your chest rising up and down quickly, your heart was racing. "Link...I..."

You heard him sigh, and then crawl into the bed beside you. He pulled you close, and you were able to rest your chin on his shoulder. "Shhhhh... You were having a nightmare...." "I was?..." "Yeah, you were... But it's okay, you're safe here with me."

"Are we!? How can we be sure!?" You suddenly bursted out in a wave of anxiety. You sat up in bed and looked out the window, the light of the morning sun was glowing on the horizon.

"Y/n calm down..." your mouth was agape, tears still hot and rolling down your face.

Link sat up and placed you in his lap, he rested his chin in the crook of your neck from behind. He slowly bought his arms around your waist, holding your back close to his chest. It was warm...

He pulled you back into the bed with him, and he held your head close to his chest. You looked up at the ceiling, eyes glassy and watery. "I'm so so so sorry Link..." You sniffled, unsure of what else to say...

"Y/n, shhhh...."

This weight you felt in your chest, in your heart.... Is this, burden?
