The sun was setting carefully over Hateno Beach as you and Link watched on from an overlooking hill. You were wearing your usual attire, while Link was wearing his blue tunic, and bandages around his arms still. The two of you, best friends, have been catching up everyday since he returned, since you've missed him so much.

"How are those burns? It's been a few weeks since you've returned, haven't they healed yet?" Your face showed worry, but it appears Link seemed more worried about that matter than you. "Oh! Yeah, well..." Link looked away with that sheepish grin of his again, which just made it all the more obvious he was trying to avoid the subject. How badly were his arms burnt?

"They've actually healed, I just don't like the scarring. Oh and I also can't get my arms in the sun for too long because my skin is sensitive or something..." You just looked at him confused.

Link looked out over the horizon at the water. The water had an orange colour to it, due to the sun setting over it. It was pretty, very pretty... the orange light on Links face made him look all the more charming. His azure eyes, his dirty blonde hair, he was beautiful to you, and you had the favour of calling him your best friend. However, you've always wanted him to be more than a friend... But you decided not to tell him while he was trying to save Hyrule, in case it didn't go well...

"Hey Link?..." "Hey yeah?" You looked away from him for a bit, feeling a blush coming on. "Do you... like someone?" "Uhm..." Link turned his head to face you, trying to see your face. And then he turned away again.

"Actually... Yeah, I do..." You heard some sort of a tone of disappointment in his voice, what was that supposed to mean? "You can probably guess who it is... I mean, there's only one like her." "I don't need to guess, I know..." you just hung your head low.

It was Princess Zelda...

Link had been hearing her voice calling him through out his journey... If only it were your voice he was hearing, your voice he seeked.

What were you thinking? What was your goal of this evening? What were you even trying to ask him? Whatever it was, you certainly weren't starting off in a good direction.

"Oh!" Link turned to you and blushed, his face as red as an apple.

"I like someone too..." A meek smile on your lips, as your heart slowly broke in two. "Oh... You do?..." "YEAH of course I do!" A sudden outburst came from you, tears forming.

"Y/n please calm down! What's wrong?" "Oh nothing, apart from the fact I just had my heart broken."

Everything was silent as you got up and turned your back on Link and the sunset. The wind blew against your hot face as you tried keeping in the tears.

"Y/n... What are you on about?" You heard him call your name as you started to walk off, but he gripped you by the wrist. "Please, speak to me."

You turned your head to him and practically mouthed "I love you...".

His eyes opened wide, and a massive smile came over the boy. He pulled you by the wrist into a big embrace.

"Y/n, will you go out with me?"

You couldn't describe how you felt right now, were you happy? Confused? Angry? You didn't know how to react.

"But... You like the Princess... Don't you?" "The Princess? Haha, no, she's bossy. And anyway, I thought you said you knew who I liked?" "Yeah well I didn't expect it to be me..." "I can't believe it... The one I love, loves me back... So Y/n... will you go out with me?"

You broke the embrace, Links hands gripping your shoulders and his eyes searching yours for an answer.

"Of course!"

First chapter (excluding prologue) out! Don't worry, this story is soon to pick up the pace real soon! Only 2 reads so far... But, I only released the Prologue two days ago anyway.
I'm looking forward to this new book with hopefully, some new readers. Let me know what you guys think along the way!
