7 | Just A Sliver of Hope

Also this canonically happened at some point:

==============================

"We're going to need more tourniquets!!" Majestic landed beside Bakugo, hollering across the field to Manwel, who carried the fainted Aizawa on his back.

Deku's eyes opened slowly. He realized he was on the ground again. His hearing and vision were all foggy, on the verge of passing out completely. Ahead of him, the greenette's eyes landed on Bakugo. All the...blood. A-all Might.. further away.. He was hurt too! As was Gran Torino! E-everybody!! The amount of people he needed to save had never dropped. If anything, it had grown!

He was useless on the ground like this! He needed to save people!

"GHHAH!" Deku gripped the ground. Heaving, he shoved himself up with scratched, bleeding arms.

He needed to focus. Shigaraki wouldn't be a problem for a while, so who then--?

Izuku stared up with a scowl. The sun's glare hid the villain's form rather well, but the teen knew he was up there! All For One. Everything would end when he reached All For One!

No time for thought, or for planning, or even a breather! Deku activated One For All in his broken legs, forcing himself to stand. He wrapped Black Whip around his legs just to sturdy himself. Painstakingly, the teen crouched and stood again and again to build momentum, using Fa Jin, disabled joints grinding against one another in the process. But using that boost plus OFA at 100%.. Deku zipped into the air at untraceable speeds! Danger Sense blared in his head, stinging his nerves, as he flew at the villain like a speeding bullet.

A dark portal opened up before him. Next thing Izuku knew, he was only ten feet away from the ground, headed straight for it at deadly speeds! The only thing he could think to save his life was to twist and kick the ground again. He did so with both feet, which managed to brace his fall just a little. The teen plummeted into the ground, the earth, even the distant trees shaking from the impact! Deku's entire vision flashed white, then black..and then white again. "Midoriya!" Nana Shimura's voice rang in the back of his head. Deku gasped, continuing to do so repeatedly. His entire body below the waist fell completely numb! That helped keep his mind off of the overwhelming pain, but he began to panic! Did he just lose all feeling in his legs?! Was his spine broken?! Would he ever be able to run, jump, and fight again?! Izuku felt a very faint touch on his shoulder from the Vestige of Nana trying to comfort him. Izuku finally opened his eyes. It was blurry, but, he saw gray..and blue...and maybe a bit of red. Deku bit his lip, tears springing to his eyes.

He couldn't.. he couldn't... he couldn't....

Mob had been in a very tense mood all day and he didn't know why. The month long program was going very well for him. Saitama was both patient and very experienced in this field. Furthermore, he showed great interest in the boy's abilities, which made his 'Shigeo' side very happy. Specifically, Saitama was fascinated with his plant growing powers. The past week they'd experimented with it so much, specifically in growing house plants around the man's place. After a little bit, Mob had casually brought up creating his own island, to which Saitama demanded they go visit at once!

Now, Mob sat on a rock along the cliffy beach of said island, a little ways away from the campsite he and the old man had slept at last night. He stared on with a blank look, staring at the empty horizon line.

That feeling was stronger now than it had been all day. One full of dread and anguish. Made him worry if something really bad was going to happen to him...or if something really bad was happening right now to someone else. Thankfully, he'd had sent Dimple away to check up on how things were doing back at home while he practiced the extent of his powers with Saitama. Dimple would be able to help take care of anything bad going on, at least.

He hoped everything would be alright..

The old man arrived from the forest with beachy attire on. He was a little disappointed by the lack of sandy beaches, but oh well. Still a beautiful vacationing spot! Without a word, he sat down next to Mob and offered him a can of fizzy water he bought at the airport.

"You've been quieter than usual today. Something up?"

"Not that I know of.." Mob sighed, accepting the drink. He just held it, letting the can cool his hand down some. He didn't further elaborate.

"Hm." The retired hero cracked his own can open and took a sip. "Well, about the whole holding back thing... Everyone does it a little differently, so let me just give you a visual to go off of. We can practice a few things from there." Mob turned his head a little to glance at the former hero. Saitama stared ahead, enjoying the view as he explained. "The trick is to not use all of your muscles at once, even at full power. Like, for me, if I really wanted to hold back, I would restrain every muscle in my body but the two or three I needed to perform the task. Now it may take a lot of practice and self restraint, but I believe it can be done, even in your case. We just need to find out what works best for you."

You know, actually... This made a lot of sense.. He could already imagine a few different ways he could implement this.

A strange power surged through Deku's body suddenly while he lay on the ground. 'K... I'll let you use my powers..' Shigeo's voice echoed through his head.

50%

'But only to do one task.' Deku's eyes widened. That's right! Mob's powers sorta had a mind of their own, didn't they?!.. Meaning using them would be different than the others!

100%

A dark green and black mist formed around the young hero's skin, the ground beginning to shake under his body. Loose particles began to float, sucked into the greenette's new aura and absorbed for the sake of energy. 'To heal yourself.. and nothing else!' Deku's body started to float. This surge of power was on par with the first ever time he used One For All! The thrill that followed. All the possibilities unlocked. 'Sorry in advance, but... This is going to hurt.' Deku heard his legs moving unnaturally underneath him. The cracking of bones as his limbs reassembled themselves. On a molecular level, the teen's destroyed legs began to return to how they were before. The "healing process" crawled up his spine until-

"AGH!" Deku could suddenly feel again. The pain was thankfully just a tender soreness at this point, but the suddenness surge made up for it! Deku landed on his own two feet, panting and patting around himself to ensure all was fine. He could feel his legs again! It certainly wasn't any natural kind of healing, but he was fine. All was fine. "...Thanks." Izuku breathed. He could sense Shigeo's idle nod somehow; the only response he could expect to receive.

This opened up the perfect opportunity! Though a little bloody and sore, Izuku knew he had what he needed now to give it his all.

There would be NO holding back.

Time to crank One For All up to 100%.

Iida was having a hard time keeping up here. He mostly just ran around from classmate to classmate in an effort to save them from small but critical issues. His quirk was no good for fighting that Chisaki Nomu, so this was simply the only thing he could think of. He was beyond frustrated. Thanks to both the little time to prepare and the fact that the villains had no solid plan, it was near impossible for the heroes to form one of their own, either! So here he and his class were, fighting for their very lives out here with no real game plan! All of the planning went into evacuating and calling in the right heroes for the job. And Zeya was no mastermind either; she could only prepare everybody for the big events which she just so happened to remember, many of which butterfly effected out of existence.

Out of nowhere, some blur appeared in front of Iida and simply stuck his leg out while smiling. The navy haired teen was given no time to prepare, so he tripped over the man's leg and tumbled over the ground! As soon as Iida could pick himself back up again, the man was gone. Though Iida had less than a second to look at his attacker of sorts, he had to assume it was that one guy who kept messing with the other students. Sure enough, as he scanned the area, he caught the man reappearing behind Ochako while she was distracted with a low level Nomu. The villain grinned, about to push her into the monster when suddenly a string of yellow light swung in, flinging the villain up into the sky.

Iida huffed as he stood up on unsteady legs. Ida raced in to save his classmate, since she was momentarily distracted by the weird noise behind her. Iida grabbed the brunette just in time, the Nomu striking and breaking through two of the iron pipes on his back. "Throw me at it now!" Ochako barked. She was deadest and determined. Iida, despite the clear hesitation in his eyes, trusted the girl enough to do as she asked. He threw Ochako, the girl flying through the air light as a feather. She soared over the ground, running her hands over the rock to guide her, and touched the Nomu's calf as she flew past it. The girl's face greened as that Nomu flew into the air, joining the many others up there as well. After a rather rough landing, the girl promptly hurled on the ground. The pain in her stomach, tension throughout her whole body, was undoubtedly worse than any period cramps she ever had..and that was saying something! Her whole body was overcome with a weak, sickening feeling that made her arms feel like jello and her head like it was about to melt. Her body wanted nothing in that moment but to throw up with the hope that that would somehow relieve the pain.

"URARAKA!!!" Iida started to sprint toward her, but his damaged gear made it impossible to run in a straight line at full speeds. The brunette still stared at the ground, too busy at the moment gathering together the strength within her to stand. But, she felt the ground shaking around her...and it was getting closer! Spikes bellowed upward in a chaotic messy line toward the girl, sourced from one of Kai's own added hands. (Now is a good time to mention that one of his arms and one of his legs are still mere prosthetics, the prosthetic arm bearing enough material within to be turned into any tool he might require.) "NOO!!!" It didn't look like Iida was going to be able to make it in time!!

A large tongue wrapped around Ochako, the green body of Tsu leaping high through the air overhead, yanking her friend above the threat just in time. Iida looked down from the relieving sight, eyes widening again with terror as the line of spikes instead turned HIS way!

Ahead of him, Overhaul fought off multiple people at once. Both Rock Lock and Vlad King were greatly injured and bleeding. They stuck together still, Vlad valiantly defending the only guy who could keep Overhaul's abilities at bay. Rock Lock meanwhile needed a breather. The excessive use of his quirk was clearly straining on him. That and his injuries made it harder and harder for him to keep the Nomu out of the ground.

Defending them, amazingly enough, were none other than "The Big Three." The UA seniors worked well as a team, and their quirks just so happened to be pretty good matches. Amajiki was the most vulnerable here, having already resorted to chopping off his own tentacle appendages several times if ever the Nomu managed to touch them. A few of the other UA kids helped out, such as Kaminari -- though his brain was already fried -- Jiro, Momo, Mina, Aoyama, Manga, Reiko, and Neito Monoma, however these younger students served more supporting roles.

In that case, you would think the Chisaki Nomu would be overwhelmed by this point, but no... In fact, he was oddly calm. Iida started into this monster's tortured eyes. Bearing the same overwhelming rage he carried in his past life. Now a mere husk of broken dreams, deep seeded regrets, but, of course, on top of all that an undying hatred toward anything "impure." The boy slammed on his breaks, hoping not to collide with the villain's strike in time. But, things were looking a little hopeless for him.

Iida hated everything about today. Not saying he regretted becoming a hero, but, he definitely imagined in this moment what living a normal life might be like. He'd never really given it much thought before. This was just the Ingenium way, after all. But.. with his brother's paralyzation, and now this... he couldn't help but try to imagine himself living another life. One completely severed from all this violence, pain, and responsibility.

...Sure would be nice...

Iida managed to turn himself sharply, just in time to avoid Overhaul's attack. However, that cost him his ankle, which snapped right before he rolled out of the way. Now he was on the ground, screaming silently as he grabbed a hold of his broken joint, blurry, glassesless eyes failing to Notice the Nomu's shark-like, quirk was still lurking after him.

Suddenly, the teen's hairs stood on end, even though he had no idea why. A chill crawled over him, his body instinctively sensing something along the lines of an even BIGGER threat from behind! Iida spun around just in time to spot the blurry being as it leapt over him toward the dangerous Nomu! "SSSSSMMMMMMAAASSHHH!!!" The green and black blur completely kicked off one of the villain's arms. It didn't matter that the Nomu's very bones were reinforced with several layers of steel, that arm was coming off!! Again, Iida was amazed by his classmate. But wait.. how his quirk was manifesting... Iida picked up his broken glasses and set them on his nose. Yeah, he wasn't just seeing things! Deku's quirk was manifesting similarly to MOB'S!!

"MOB!?!" Apparently, Iida wasn't the only one who saw this similarity. Almost everyone there assumed their youngest classmate had returned. So, they were all a little shocked to see the tint of green among the chaotic dark smoke-like energy obscuring his body, his presently blank eyes glowing a bright green rather than white. "DEKU?!" Ochako was the first to catch on. She was also the only one there who knew what this meant. She was both worried and excited. What if he lost control of his emotions?? Could he go crazy like Mob did!?

Shigeo wasn't going to let that happen. Not only because he had matured a little, but also because he was only allowing all of this emotion driven energy to do one task and one task only. A task which was needed right now. That kick may have been nice in breaking the arm off that was about to kill Iida, but using OFA like that broke his OWN leg as well! The leg which fixed itself before Deku's feet even skid across the ground. Izuku threw his fists up, a boiling rage fueling his newfound power.

Deku joined the fray, able to go all out as long as none of his friends were in the way. His punches and kicks sent massive bursts of air over the battlefield, blowing most of the other fighters away. Again and again, he knocked off limb after limb of the Nomu. Six arms was a lot to keep track of, and unfortunately for him Overhaul just kept on regenerating using his OWN quirks! It was a pretty fair fight, just him versus Overhaul. Him taking on the Nomu almost completely by himself allowed for the others to focus more on other problems. Momo was especially needed out here. There were a lot of injured and not enough medical supplies to go around!

"What seems to be the problem here?!" Momo landed on her knees beside Vlad King and Rock Lock. The silver haired hero held a shield of blood over the two of them protectively, shielding the bushy haired hero from the massive explosions of air just as much as from the villain itself!

"I'm not entirely sure. He's not bleeding as much as I am, but his arms are going stiff!" Referring to Rock Lock partially laying on the ground beside him. Momo mentally searched through her catalog of things that might help. "I- I think it has to do with his quirk!! He's using it too much!"

"Give me a break already, man.." The other her groaned, pushing himself up with stiff hands, the joints of his own wrists and fingers unable to move. Rock Lock sweat profusely, but he glanced at the other two with an unrelenting look. "I can...surpass my limits just like the rest of you!" He then pointed at Deku. All of them braced as another explosive punch sent a gust of air their way. Rock Lock pointed out the kid again. Momo watched. With awe and horror, she noticed her fellow classmate was terribly wounded. His left sleeve was completely torn off, revealing the ugly purple scarring. Said arm flapped uselessly in the wind. As he flew over the Nomu's head, that same arm bent itself back into shape. Not exactly healing nor reversing the damage. Looked very unnatural, even for a regeneration quirk! No doubt it hurt just as much to reconstruct that arm than it did to break it! But still, Deku was fighting with the most determined grimace the young woman had ever seen! Deku followed that punch up with a guillotine kick to the Nomu's shoulder. That leg completely shattered for the price of momentarily ripping off two of the Nomu's."That, right there, is what all heroes should strive to be more like!" Rock Lock shouted over the wind. Momo nodded slowly. "So... If you seriously think I'm gunna run away just cuz my hands are a little locked up!" He hissed through his teeth, then chuckled, "..Not a chance... I've still got my little boy to keep safe, after all! Can't let him grow up in a world like this!!"

"Well, here are some bandages for you and Vlad King. Continue to watch over each other! I- I have to help the others!!" Momo stood up and ran off again, crouching lowly as another strong gust of wind blew over everything. It wasn't hard to tell the teen was a bit overwhelmed. She had such little confidence in her own abilities out here. There was very little she could think to do other than first aid! But still, she wanted to be as useful as possible!

She was very ill prepared for war... They all were.

"YYYYAHHH!!"

BOOM!!!

Another blast of air blew away the tears soaking the corners of Izuku's eyes. His grimace was so deeply set that there was no tearing it off. No chance of distracting the teen while he was in this state! The misty stuff from Mob's quirk had for the most part fallen away by now, simply because the teen was moving too fast for even it to manifest! Though he had beaten this Nomu time and time again down to the bone, it just kept bouncing back. Even crushing The Nomu's very brain had no effect! (Their brains are exposed due to the overwhelming amount of brain power required to juggle so many quirks, thus easily overheating their brains - I have decided. Only a problem for the Nomu because they are specially designed to be stupid and easy to control.)

Deku fell and rolled over the ground again. He was a mess. His clothes were so badly tattered, that despite his own form of regenerating, plenty of blood coated his skin from abusing himself and his quirks like this. He blocked out the vestiges' warnings for now, too set on defending his friends to care about himself. The images of those who had already fallen lived in his head rent free. His only mission was to make sure that didn't happen to anyone else! Not on his watch!!

"Psst, HEY!!" Monoma's head peeked up from behind a rock. Izuku didn't even care to question him at this point.

"Monoma, get back!!"

"Make him fall this way!" The blond Class B student completely ignored him. Deku hesitantly nodded. Whatever the boy had planned, he hoped it would be enough to finish off this foe. Deku charged up OFA again and pounced the Nomu's way! Overhaul had turned his attention again to Rock Lock and Vlad King again, about ready to attack them with the full force of its power! Mid-air, Deku shot Black Whip out to grapple around the Nomu's legs and swung like a slingshot between them. Instead of letting go, he swung around and into the air, suddenly pulling himself toward the creature. As Overhaul rose four of his arms, Deku activated Smoke Screen for the first time, creating a thick purple mist that would make it hard for the Nomu to aim for him. He kicked his foot out just enough to blast one clawed hand away and finally kicked the Nomu in the head! The Chisaki Nomu, as agreed upon, fell backwards and slid on the ground closer to Monoma. Izuku floated away immediately after, gifting the blond his chance.

Monoma gladly took it. Before the Nomu even had the chance to stand fully, he jumped from behind the rock and tapped the creature's shoulder.

Within seconds, the Nomu exploded into a wild array of blood and metal.

Monoma gasped, "I... I actually did it..?" staring wide eyed at the mess he had made. He was surprised by how well that worked! All it took was to use the Nomu's quirk against itself! Deku landed not far away, spinning around. At last, a shuttering sigh of relief fell from his faintly smiling lips. He relished for a moment in the simple fact that this Nomu would never hurt anyone--

The blood started to clump together before his very eyes, forming together flesh. With dread, Izuku and Monoma both noticed a little late that Overhaul's head lay separate from its, likely severed from the rest of his body in one last ditch attempt as self preservation. Well... It worked..

"MONOMA, HURRY!!" Deku screamed. But, the blond was petrified. Just like the final boss in a video game, it was like this thing had INFINITE lives!! The poor teen stumbled a step back as the puddle of blood and metal again formed the undead monster, presently halfway fixed together already! His breaths became rapid, trapped eyes trembling. HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO BEAT THIS!? How was class 1A even able to FIGHT right now!? He couldn't even MOVE!!! Slowly, the Nomu turned around as he was being reformed, turning to glare at this dangerous blond. "MOVE!!!" Deku screamed. He wasn't much better. He was just as scared. Worse, he had beaten his own limbs to a pulp so much that now every fiber of his being was trembling uncontrollably. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to use them much longer if this kept up. "MONOMA, RUN!!" But, he didn't... His body couldn't decide between fight or flight. Even as the Nomu's hands shot out at him, Monoma could only take a few meek steps back.

The teen's shoulder was suddenly shoved aside. As the blond fell, his eyes stared in horror. Vlad King took the hit.

No... He didn't want to be the reason his teacher would die.

Luckily, his teacher was smarter than that. The man put up a shield. A shield of his own blood. As two of the Nomu's hands reached it, the shield crumbled away. Vlad King dipped down and scooped his student up in his arms, running toward Deku. "Protect Rock Lock!!" The teacher called.

"Yes sir!!" Deku leaped into the air, landing a ways away on the other side of the Nomu. Rock Lock had officially fainted. His arms were no longer stiff, but that meant Overhaul could head underground whenever he so chose. Hopefully, everyone had evacuated by now! Only now did Deku realize how terrible of an idea it was to leave those two alone!

Vlad dropped his student rather harshly on the ground, standing protectively in front of the kid as the Nomu neared after picking something up. "What quirks do ya have on you, kid?!"

"Um- electricity, wait no. U-uhm- I- I- I-!"

"Snap out of it, kid!" Vlad struck the blondie's shoulder. "You guys should have NEVER been allowed to fight here! But, since you're here, you need to control your thoughts! MAKE yourself think straight! You have Overhaul's quirk right now, so use it!!"

Monoma, still a wreck, fell onto his knees behind his teacher and touched his hand to the ground. Spikes shot up from the ground. A mass of rock and dirt spikes both attacked Overhaul and created a wall between the Nomu and its targets.

Monoma couldn't see it anymore, but he kept this up, shoving more and more material together. Only by hearing the sickening sounds of crushing flesh did he know he was hitting his target. Then...all was silent. Hauntingly so. Monoma jumped to his feet, breaths trembling as he stumbled back a few steps and grabbed his teacher's hand. He tugged on Vlad, but doing so was like pulling against a still boulder.. It just wouldn't budge.

"Vlad Sensei, le-let's just go! You're injured! Come on-!" All the blood around the teacher's wounds started to float. They glided through the air towards the mass of spikes. Vlad simply stared in horror...as his very blood was being drained away.

"...Get out of here, Monoma." Vlad whispered. Monoma's whole body began to shake. His eyes followed the streams of blood as they dropped onto the mass of spikes and crawled up the mass before seeping into it. The Nomu's hand punctured through the rock, revealing between its fingers a swirling ball of blood, steadily sucking in all the material like it. In this case: Vlad's own blood.

The teacher gritted his teeth and stretched out his hands. Using his own quirk, he was able to retain enough blood to remain conscious. But this was a terrible fix he was in. One mistake and his body would be drained no doubt!

Crunch!
churn

Holes of earth appeared in the mass, tiny condensed pebbles falling from the holes the Nomu's other hands made. Each of its other five arms steadily chipped away at the rock around it. The Nomu's bones snapped back into place one after another. Its own leaking blood stilled as the wounds sealed themselves back up. Meanwhile, the hand containing that sphere of the hero's blood rose high in the air above its own head. Vlad was stuck in place. The front half of his body was beginning to redden, while his back half began to pale. If he took his mind off his quirk for one second, he might just...

The Chisaki Nomu's eyes fixed onto the body of that frail, helpless child standing at Vlad's right. One of its arms swung back and, swinging forward at intense speeds, scratched it's claws through the ground. A shockwave of matter crawled toward the kid. Thinking quickly, Monoma used the fleeting strength from Froppy's quirk and leapt into the air! Once the blond looked up, terror gripped a firm hold of him. The Nomu's prosthetic changed shape, forming a long barreled rifle out of it. The Nomu closed one eye to make sure it didn't miss!

Monoma was sure he was going to die! He'd never been so sure of anything in his life. Except for...

---------------

"Hey, that's cheating!!" The kids on the playground were all gathered around me, pointing their fingers at the scum among them. My tentacle arms shrank feeling in my catch until I held the ball in front of myself. My face was filled with fear and confusion.

"Wh- what do you mean?? I didn't even break any rules! You guys just said we can use our quirks, right?!"

"Yeah but you're not allowed to use Kiichan's quirk!" Another child barked at me. I was surrounded and didn't know why they all took such harsh offense.

"Yeah.. Well, that's just my ability..." My hands returned to normal, and I held the baseball close to my chest.

"Well you can't copy my quirk in this game!"
"Or mine!"
"Or mine!!"
"That's just mean!"

"But then... How am I supposed to play, then?"

"Go play with somebody else!" I gave in and left the kids, dropping the ball in the grass as I left.

It was actually quite common for people to pick at me in this way. While a great ability, there was a wide range of negative reactions to it, from disgust to horror. Turns out quirks were a much more sacred thing than what I'd grown up believing. They're like a part of you, a fingerprint, something entirely and wholely original to you. It would be like someone making a perfect replica of your arm and using it as their own. So, at least as I got a little older, I began to understand why people treated me this way.

But still... I always had a fascination with quirks. Partially spurred on by my own ability, I always wanted to know what made them tick, to know what it was like having that quirk. However, knowing my enthusiasm for the subject made those around me uncomfortable, I kept this passion of mine to myself. I got good at studying and appreciating the quirks of others around me silently.

There was always something so personal about using another's quirk. I understood that much even as a young age. To use someone else's quirk is like getting to experience blindness or some other disability for the first time. Even though it isn't permanent, I can't help but find greater respect for those I use the quirks of. For it truly is something special getting to live out a fraction of someone else's life, even with that said fraction being only a few minutes.

Thing though is no one else knew how it was like having my quirk. They always saw me as a cheater for whatever reason. Many claimed I acted more like a villain than a hero. But...thing is.. I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to help people.

...I've always wanted to...

...So why can't I now?...

Why does fate have to be so cruel?

---------------

BANG!

The Nomu's canon fired.

A large splash of Vlad's hardened blood swat the teen out of the way just in time. Blood leaked from the hero's skin.

Monoma fell and rolled. Over the ground. He hit his head so that a terrible ache tore through his skull while he pushed himself up onto his elbows. His vision was blurry no matter how many times he blinked.

BOOM!

Deku's righteous rage fueled him as he tackled the Nomu from behind. He'd busied himself with too many other Nomu! Too distracted protecting the fainted Rock Lock until now...when it was already too late.

Monoma was forced to drop again onto his belly by the strong gust of wind thrown by the greenette's punch. His eyes finally started to clear. Just enough to see the fallen body of his teacher. The blond tried to gasp, but found he couldn't even breathe.

His teacher....was...

The kid couldn't even move.

The hand of a stranger gripped at his shoulder.

[ Come on. Get up! ] A voice echoed in his head. Tears now entered the teen's eyes, but he just couldn't take his mind off of that bloodless corpse. The power of telekinesis made Monoma weightless. He floated several feet above the ground. It was finally then that he reacted.

"He-he-hey, wh-what are you doing!?"

[ What does it look like I'm doing? I'm getting you out of here. You're a little scraped up. Here. ] The pink haired teen with green shades and two hair pins of some kind touched Monoma's shoulder, healing him almost instantly.

"Yu- you can heal?! Heal him! Now!!" Still, the blond's attention remained solely on his fallen mentor. The new kid, Saiki, stared with a plain, mildly saddened look.

[ ... I'm sorry. But I can't resurrect the dead. ]

"He's what??" Though he knew, hearing the truth still came as a shock. "..Then kill that b######!!!" Monoma pointed at Chisaki, who presently had most of the muscle blown off of its upper half. Bones and a few tendons alone fought back against the raging Deku, whose eyes held spite like no other Monoma had ever seen before! Saiki sighed beside the blond.

[ Sorry, but I can't. Not if I don't want to get arrested at least. ]

"Then let me do it for you!!" Monoma reached out, grabbing a hold of Saiki's forehead. Suddenly, his whole body was overcome with energy! He was dropped to the ground at once, the pink haired kid hurrying to form as many psychic barriers around them as possible! But even THEN Monoma's unprepared body was exerting such an overwhelming amount of energy that it flew out in all directions in the form of air. Except this air could go through and imbed itself into objects. And any nearing object that has too much simply crumbled away under the pressure of so much power! The blond gripped his head tightly. He could hear the thoughts of everyone all at once! Everyone within the campus and maybe even a little beyond! It was a bit overwhelming to say the least. Gave him an instant headache.

[ S###! S###! Deactivate that now, or you'll blow up all of Japan!! ] The worried Saiki grabbed Monoma's shoulders, shaking the younger one.

"Wait, what!?" The blond squinted his eyes open. He could just barely understand this guy's thoughts over everyone else's.

[ I SAID DEACTIVATE IT! ] The ground underneath them was beginning to shake. The corner of the UA campus nearest them crumbling away.

"I- I- I'm really trying!!" The blond started to panic. He had no other quirk to switch between. All the others already ran out!! The metal at the building's base had been eaten away enough, the whole thing started to give out. Saiki grabbed Monoma with his telekinesis and started to run away with him following behind. "I-- I need to touch someone else so I can switch quirks!!" Monoma hollered. Saiki's eyes narrowed. Knowing what to do now, he scanned the area for anyone with a quirk that was strong enough to survive his uncontrolled power. Layered barriers surrounded the two of them, but that wouldn't last long at this rate! Saiki had his limiters, which now were for the first time not helping!

His eyes stopped at a tall, lean man with bright white hair fighting off a couple Nomu in the distance. Sitting on the ground still was a young blond. Strange... How was the blond stronger than his teacher now?

Saiki hollered to the adult anyways. If his Infinity was still up, then there was no use in trying to talk the normal way. "SENSEI GOJO! I NEED YOU TO HELP!" Strange. His teacher was actually struggling a little against two Nomu. And that was a completely different fighting style as well! Resembled a brawling acrobat more than anything else. Something was seriously wrong.

Dimple was having more fun than he expected in this body. He grabbed one Nomu's fist between his arms and another's between his ankles. Then he twisted this long body of his to redirect them and dropped out of the way so that the two punched each other instead! Both Nomu fell back, but the spirit was already attacking again. "Man, I was expecting this guy to be useless! But he's got some surprising muscle hiding beneath these clothes!!" Dimple grinned as he fought. He could push the body of whoever he possessed far beyond its believed limits, since he didn't experience pain same as his host! But man would this guy be sore tonight!

Dimple kicked off of one and back flipped through the air. He landed beside Teru and slid over the uneven ground a little bit. "You ever gunna run, kid, or are you just going to keep sitting around like an idiot?!"

Teruki blinked again, finally understanding what was going on. "Wait.. Dimple?!"

"In the flesh!" Grinning. "Well, at least this guy's flesh! He was already in shock when I got here, so it was pretty easy to possess him!"

"Wait so is Mob--!?" Teru started to look around.

"-Nope!" Dimple shut down that ray of hope pretty quickly. "Don't think he even knows what's going on right now! Thankfully, I thought that island trip of his was a good time to check up on everyone else! I just need to get you kids out of here!"

"No..!" Teru pushed himself up. A hard task. His body was already so beaten. He could hardly stand. "I.. I need to keep fighting! There's still so many villains left!"

Dimple finally smashed through one of the Nomu's brains. His whole arm was stuck inside, though, so he didn't have time to pull it out as the other charged him. Dimple timed it and kicked the charging Nomu up the jaw, which shocked it enough to paralyze the creature for a few seconds. "What's the point in defeating the bad guys if all of you are dead too!?" Then, the white haired man with two prominent red circles on his cheeks tore his arm free and kicked off of the monster before it fell dead. Blood was drenching the man now. And Dimple smiled like it was no big deal at all! Right as the Nomu and Dimple charged one another, the creature suddenly stopped. "HUH?" The spirit tilted his head. Then, it turned and ran off. "HEY, WAIT!!... Aww.. And I was just beginning to have a little fun too." His shoulders dropped.

He would have just calmed down if it weren't for one HECK of a terrifying aura approaching!

Hanazawa sensed that too. Both he and Dimple spun around, fearing what they might have to face. Only, those approaching didn't exactly appear like villains. Rather, Teru could have sworn he saw the blond one once before! "HURRY! I know this sounds weird, but let him touch you, Sensei!!" The pink haired one shouted. Dimple's right brow rose. Crap. He wasn't expecting things to get any more complicated than fighting monsters out here! The kid seemed to know whoever he was possessing, but he didn't know if he could trust the KID!

"Uh-h, how about you stay back a little bit? Looks like your friend over there is getting a little out of control." Dimple nervously stepped back. He could sense this was Esper power as well, meaning either of the two approaching could exorcise him if they so desired. The pink haired one's brows furrowed at once.

[ I knew something was off. What did you do to Gojo?? ]

"Gojo!? Ahah.! Is that who this is?!" Dimple rubbed the back of his neck. "I- I just found him like this! Seemed pretty useless on his own, so I possessed him!"

[ What happened to his power? ]

'D### this brat is intimidating!' Despite being the weaker of the two approaching, Saiki was far more direct with his intentions. As he approached, it was clear he wouldn't back down until he was given what he wanted. However, by reading the spirit's mind, Saiki soon knew that he was no liar. In fact, Dimple was actually helping Gojo in a way. Because, well.. this was no place for a quirkless man, now was it? The pink haired kid sighed.

[ You won't do. ... Hey you. ] Teru flinched. The two made eye contact. [ Let this guy copy your quirk and I'll heal you. Please, he could seriously blow up the whole country. ] Though significantly weaker than his teacher was, Teru still possessed an impressive amount of power for someone his age.

"Oh-um-okay." There wasn't really any arguing to be done. The teen pushed his way through barrier after barrier. He was brought back to the time when Shigeo had lost control! Dang, this kid was strong!! But remembering how he felt in that moment, back then with Mob, gave him the motivation to push through. Reaching out his hand, Teru's very flesh was starting to peel away Monoma stretched out his hand, meeting him halfway. As the two blonds touched hands, the world around them stilled. The excessive amount of energy faded away. Hanazawa dropped onto the ground, gasping in pain. Saiki knelt down and placed his hand on the younger one's shoulder. Took a little longer than Monoma, but soon that kid was healed as well.

"Thanks..." Teru breathed a sigh of relief. This was nice.. no pain. He just wanted to lay here on the floor and sleep-

"Hey! Guys!!" Dimple held a hand at his forehead to block the sun out of his eyes. He scanned the whole battlefield...but it was so still. All the Nomu were racing to make their escape at the gap in the walls. "Did we... Did we win..?" Teru, despite being overcome with the urge to sleep, forced himself up again to have a look around as well. Even Saiki joined in scanning the area. Sure enough...only the heroes remained.

"I can't believe it..." Teru chuckled. A faint, wholesome smile curled his lips. "..We won..."
