TRIGGER WARNINGS : talks about abuse, drugs, cutting
Virgil POV
My eyes snapped open and I took a deep breath. Nurse Ash was hovering over me, waving a small bottle of something beneath my nose.
"Nice to see you again Virgil," She said with a smile.
"Wha...what's going on?" I mumbled, pushing myself up.
"Oh thank goodness you're okay!" Patton squealed, appearing out of nowhere and pulling me into a tight hug.
"I'm fine," I sighed as memories of the trial filled my mind.
Only then did I realize I was lying in Roman's lap. Still in the court house. But now in a break room. Patton and Roman were they only two here besides Nurse Ash.
"I'm sorry Virgil," Roman sighed, rubbing my back gently.
"Not your fault Ro," I mumbled, leaning my head on his shoulder.
"How have you been Virgil?" Nurse Ash asked me.
"Depressed and tired," I laughed.
"I'd say mood but I can't since I'm a mental health nurse," She said, laughing a little bit.
"Ash!" Yelled Damien, bursting into the room. I jumped a bit but laughed. I think the shock is making me delirious.
The two quickly embraced. When they pulled apart they were both smiling. The few good memories I had from New Dawn filled my mind.
Everyone trailed in after Damien. Quinn was still holding tightly to Damien and Evan. Everyone gave me worried looks but seemed happy to see that I was okay.
"How's everything been going?" Ash asked him.
"Actually pretty good," Damien said with a smile.
"Are you two still together?" She asked, pointing at Damien and I. I felt Roman tense beneath me.
"No," I laughed.
"We both have new boyfriends," Damien added.
"Okay good, because I was confused why this one was holding Virgil," She laughed.
"My name's Roman," Roman introduced himself.
"And these are my two amazing boyfriends," Damien said, pushing Quinn and Evan in front of him. "Evan and Quinn."
"Well it's nice to meet all of you," She said with a smile. "And I'm glad to see you two making friends." Then she gave Damien a look. "No more fights?"
"Maybe," Damien laughed, giving her a shrug. Ash sighed but laughed a bit.
"Some things never change," Ash sighed with a little laugh.
"Where do you work now?" I asked. "Since New Dawn shut down."
"A hospital in the city," She answered with a shrug. "I work in the psyche ward."
"What else is new with you?" Damien asked.
"Well," She said with a blush. She then held up her hand decked out with a wedding ring. "Finally got the courage to propose to Celeste!"
"You owe me twenty bucks Virgil," Damien said, holding out his hand.
"We made that bet three years ago!" I said. "It doesn't stand anymore."
"Really guys?" Ash snickered. "Betting on my love life?"
"Congrats," I told her to try and avoid the question.
"Here," She said while pulling out her phone. She then pulled up a photo. It was her with her short curly brown hair down and blue eyes in a long skinny wedding dress. Next to her stood a tinier girl, Celeste, with her black hair done up in a bun and striking green eyes. She wore a big poofy wedding dress with lots of lace.
"I'm happy for you," Damien told her.
"Thanks guys," She said with a lovestruck smile as she looked at the photo.
I leaned my face in Roman neck and pressed a kiss there. I smiled a bit, imagining getting married to Roman and based on the way he was smiling at me, he was thinking the same.
"Excuse me," Said a sharp female voice. We all turned to see the judge from the case at the door.
She walked over to me with a folder. Handing it to me, she gave me a comforting smile. She patted my hand gently.
"Here's the deed and keys to your house," She explained. "And some other papers I'll need you to sign. Lucky for you, the mortgage on the house have already been completely paid for by your father."
"Oh, thanks," I mumbled, looking through the papers.
"I'm very sorry for what you went through," She told me. "I don't have abuse cases very often, they make me want to cry. My children are my life and I can't imagine what sick things were running through that man's mind to make him hurt his own child." She shook her head mournfully.
But with a quick sniff, she stood back up and composed herself. She gave me another quick smile before turning and exiting the room.
"That was nice of her," Emile commented. "But anyways," He quickly darted out of Remy's grasp and to Ash. "Whats it like in your work profession?"
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I want to study to be a therapist," Emile explained. "Or a mental health doctor. Or a psychiatrist."
"Oh!" Ash said with a smile. "Well..."
I quickly tuned out their conversation, not too interested in that sort of profession. I have no clue what I want to study and go into.
"So Quinn," I said, getting the shaky boy's attention. "You still want to move in with me?"
"Yeah," He whispered. "And can we please wait to talk about it. And maybe leave this place." I took into account how much he was shaking and how shallow his breath was. Also how tightly he was holding to Evan and Damien.
"Yeah, I have everything," I said, looking at Logan. I don't know shit about this.
"Yes, now that the court case is officially over and your father has been convicted, we are allowed to leave," Logan told me.
"Babes!" Remy said, getting Emile's attention. "You're adorable when you get excited over this stuff but we gotta get Quinn outta here so, hurry the bleep up."
"Did you really just say bleep instead of a cuss word?" Damien asked with a laugh.
"We're in a court house," Remy said while pointing around us.
"It's not a church," Evan said. "I'm pretty sure you're allowed to use bad words here."
"But no matter where you are you need to watch your language," Patton added with a stern glare.
"Can we please leave?" Quinn squeaked out.
"Of course baby," Damien told him, giving him a quick kiss to distract him.
"How about we all go shopping because my house is a pile of shit and I need paint and new furniture," I suggested. "It's a Saturday anyways. Evan you can plant a bunch of leafy shit around the house. And I can finally get out of Roman's parents hair."
"That's sounds like a good idea," Quinn mumbled.
"It's a great idea!" Patton said. "I'll bring snacks! But mostly cookies!"
"Okay, lets go then," Roman declared, standing up with me still in his arms. I struggled out of his grasp with a laugh.
"Lets go to Ikea and accidentally summon a demon while trying to pronounce the names of stuff," Remy laughed.
"Can Remus come?" Roman asked, quickly stilling the happiness of the room.
"Why?" Damien scoffed.
"He broke up with Issac," Roman said. Instant chaos.
Patton and Emile got really happy and proud of Remus. The others were impressed that Remus finally left him. I yelled at him for not telling me sooner.
"He's also trying to get clean from everything," Roman added. "He gave me all his pills, drugs, blades and told me to get rid or lock up all the alcohol in our house away. He's moved back home and he's made amends with out parents. He's really trying this time. And he is quoting cold turkey so he's been kinda grumpy but he needs to get out of the house and he's really strong so he'd be good for heavy lifting."
"That's good," Emile said with a smile, clearly proud of Remus.
"Did you say blades?" Evan asked, looking at me straight in the eyes with his pain and fear filled eyes. Damn him and his adorableness.
"Not my secrets to reveal," Roman said, holding his hands up. Evan frowned and the somber mood returned over our group.
"Call Remus," I told Roman, placing my hand comfortingly on his arm. "Invite him along. Now let's go fix up my crappy house."
People started smiling again. We said our goodbyes to Ash and filled out of the room. I held tightly to Roman, getting a little shaky as we passed the court rooms. But Quinn looked ready to pass out.
I took a deep breath once we outside the courthouse. Instant relief washed over me and the reality of the situation hit me.
Dad is gone. He's never going to hurt me again. I have my own house. A boyfriend that loves me. And some of the best friends every
We were all talking and goofing around while heading back to the parking garage. Remy mostly joked about almost having to pick Emile up and carry him away so he'd stop fanboying about becoming a therapist.
But everyone paused as a breathy moan of the name Issac floated out of the ally way a few feet in front of us.
"Was that...?" Roman started to ask but trialed off. But then anger overtook him. "I swear to fucking god is Remus is back with that douche bag-"
Roman paused once he got to the ally. His face had gone slack with shock. We all instantly ran over to see what shocked him so much.
Issac had Jackson pinned against the wall. The two were making out, tongue and all. Then Issac drifted down to Jackson's neck and we could see that Jackson was enjoying it.
