The ghost of you is never coming home
This made me laugh
I don't know why
I was going to publish a hella long Quiet chapter in my novella book, but it's super long and I'm super tired and there's still a ton I need to write for it
It's already a 2000+ word chapter and it's barely half way done
I promise to get it out tomorrow, but I can't finish it tonight
TRIGGER WARNING : death, aNgSt aNd sAdNeSs
Damien POV
I stared down at the tombstone numbly. Snow fell softly from the sky but I didn't move to brush any of it away from my face.

Evan stood next to me, holding a few white lilies in his hand. Silent tears slowly fell down his face.
The dark marble of the tombstone stood out against the snow. A dead bush surrounding the tombstone. A few flowers laid on top of it.
I was too afraid to stand over the freshly buried grave. No grass would grow over it until spring came back around.
If felt like I'd disturb him if I stood over the grave. He suffered too much to die this young in such a gruesome and terrifying death.
I should've gotten him to the hospital sooner. I should've gone after him earlier. I should've done something so that he didn't die.
This is my fault.
No, it's Jackson's. Fucking tying him to a fucking tree in the middle of a fucking snow storm leaving him all fucking alone to fucking freeze to death.
I hate Jackson.
But I can't help but blame myself. I know Evan does too. We both should've been there for him. He should've have died like this.
Quinn didn't deserve this. He should've lived longer to finally heal and live a happy life. Preferably married to Evan and I.
It felt wrong now. Just Evan and I. There was a part of us missing now. A part that nobody could ever replace.
I miss him. I miss him so fucking much.
Evan gently let go of the flowers before falling to the ground. He starting sobbing, shaking horribly and staring at the grave with wide eyes.
Slowly, I knelt down next to Evan and pulled him into my arms. I gently turned his head away from the tombstone and into my chest.
He wrapped his arms around me and held to me tightly. I tried my best to comfort Evan, but I was falling apart just as much as he was.
"Why'd he have to die?" Evan sobbed.
I didn't know how to answer a question like that, especially to Evan. This is a fucked up world we live in. Where a kid gets tied to a tree in a snowstorm for being gay. Where he freezes to death and the person who did it revives no punishment.
"It's a messed up world," Was all I could say. I whispered it so softly, I barely even registered saying it.
"Why? This isn't fair. Why does Quinn have to die? Why doesn't Jackson get in trouble for it," He cried, his hands digging into my chest.
I yet again had no response. Everything is wrong. Everything is going horribly wrong. We went to Jackson's trial. He got released on a really large bail.
Apparently a picture of Quinn tied to the tree wasn't enough evidence to convict Jackson. Even with tons of evidence of other times where Jackson had attacked us, the judge still let him go.
It's not fucking fair. Quinn's buried under the ground and rotting in a casket. While Jackson gets to keep living his normal life after fucking murdering him.
"I miss him," Evan mumbled, looking back at the grave.
"I miss him too," I said.
I couldn't take it anymore. I leaned over and rested my head on Evan's shoulder. I started sobbing.
I couldn't hold the tears back anymore. I held it together enough during the funeral and the burial but I can't take it anymore.
Quinn's fucking gone. He's dead and gone. He's not going to come to us. I won't get to see him again.
I won't get to hold him anymore. I won't get to kiss him anymore. I won't get to cuddle him. I won't get to see him drawing or painting. I won't get to see him and Evan writing and performing songs together. I won't get to see him in all his adorable oversized sweaters. I won't get to see his beautiful silver eyes or his soft curly black hair or the soft littering of freckles on his cheeks.
Quinn's gone.
Even if we're only seniors in high school and we've only been dating a month of so. I miss him so much.
I always imagined this perfect life for the three of us. We'd get married and find a nice house and live happily ever after. Things would be perfect.
But of course, Jackson fucking ruined that. Now it's just Evan and I. It was supposed to be the three of us.
I'm glad I still have Evan. It's better than being alone. But it still should've been the three of us.
"This isn't right," Evan whispered. "He should be here with us."
"I know," I cried, still sobbing into Evan's shoulder.
"I want him back," He continued. I just nodded. I don't like crying in front of other people.
Evan moved from me and hugged the tombstone. He just wrapped his arms around it and laid his head on the top. He kept sobbing, tracing Quinn's name in the stone.
I moved next to him and rested my hand on the tombstone. Than I looked back down at the disturbed ground.
"Come back to us Quinn," I cried. "We need you."
~•~
I slowly woke up to the sound of a continuous slow beeping. I opened my eyes, slightly disoriented as I gathered my surroundings.
Another fucking nightmare.
Evan was curled up in my arms, still fast asleep. Virgil and Roman were asleep in Virgil's hospital bed. Everyone else was scattered around the room, asleep in chairs.
Quinn was asleep in his hospital bed. Right after the doctor said 'I'm sorry for your loss.', Quinn's heart monitor started slowly beeping again.
The doctor said it's a miracle. Even having other doctors come by to confirm that Quinn was indeed alive.
He's been in a coma since because of how incredibly low his body temperature was. They don't think they'll have to amputate any limbs due to frostbite, but they also have to wait till he wakes up.
Quinn for sure has hypothermia. The doctor said Quinn might have heat problems because the hypothermia sent him into cardiac arrest.
They don't think he received brain damage from it, but his heart seems to be in a weaker state of sorts.
I looked over at the clock to see it was almost four in the morning. The lights were dimmed a little so that they weren't too bright.
Now it's just time to play the waiting game until Quinn wakes up. Than he'll be able to tell us how he got tied to the tree.
But I think we all know that Jackson did this to him. However it could've been Evan and his bullies that I got in a fight with when I first met Evan.
I let out a sigh and gently slipped my hand into Quinn's. He didn't react at all. Evan moved a bit in his sleep before stilling again.
But than Quinn did react. He let out a little whimper and moved his head a bit. I sat up quickly and shook Evan awake. Evan looked up at me in confusion before I turned his head towards Quinn.
Quinn's head moved slowly again and his eyelids fluttered a bit. I wanted to say something but I was terrified that if I disturbed him, he wouldn't wake up.
Slowly, Quinn opened his eyes.
