The gay prince with an ego bigger than disney world

SORRY I MISSED TWO UPDATES, I HAVE NO EXCUSE EXCEPT IM A LAZY BITCH

Roman POV
"But Damien and Virgil seem to have some history together!"  I ranted to Logan.  "They must obviously like each other."

"Just because they know each other does not mean that they are dating in any sense,"  Logan tried to tell me, but I ignored him.

"But Virgil deserves better, someone like me!"  I yelled.  Logan let out a sign, momentarily looking up from his school work to look at me with an annoyed glare.

"If you could please refrain from gushing about Virgil to me,"  Logan said.  "I'm trying to help you get your work done."

Why did I go to Logan for relationship advice?  He knows nothing of emotions.  Wait-

No I asked him to meet me at the library to help me with calculus.  But my mind focused more on Virgil than my math homework.

"Logan it is true love,"  I tried to tell him.

"Maybe for you," Logan grumbled. "It might not be for Virgil."

"Oh be quiet calculator watch," I said, earning yet another sigh from Logan.

"Have you completely fried the limited brain cells that you possess by thinking about Virgil?" Logan asked me.

"Absolutely," I answered with a laugh.

"Aren't you supposed to be meeting Virgil and Damien for coffee soon?"

"I am," I mumbled, for once not excited to be around Virgil. I don't want Damien there with us.

"Why are you not excited?"  He questioned.

"I don't like Damien,"  I grumbled.

"Would you like to say anything else that is obvious to everyone but yourself?"  Logan asked, seeming to be actually pissed off.

"Why are you so salty today?"  I whined.  Logan looked at me in confusion.

"I'm not covered in salt...or anything similar to that word you used,"

"It's...It's a meme you nerd,"  I said with a sigh.  "But serious what's got your tie in such a twist?"

"Please stop using whatever these odd slang words are that I do not understand,"  Logan told me.

"I don't think I've ever heard you admit to not understanding something,"  I laughed.  "I'm gonna need that in writing."

Logan sighed and mumbled 'going to' to himself.

"But seriously, what is bothering you so much?"  I asked him, poking his cheek with my pencil. He shoved my hand away and gave me another glare.

"You asked me here to assist you with schoolwork, not for you to go meddling in my personal life and love life,"  Logan mumbled, only half aware of what he was saying.  When he realized it though, he flushed bright red.

"Ooooo~"  I teased, smirking at him.  "So the robot does have feelings."

"I don't appreciate that nickname, nor you knowing about my love life,"

"And why's that?"

"Roman, you are extremely popular.  As much as I personally don't care for the high school social hierarchy, I don't want anyone else to receive any backlash for it."  Logan explained.

"It's Patton isn't it,"  I asked.  Logan flushed bright red, answering my question without saying anything.

"Awww the nerd has a crush!"  I said in a sing-song voice.

"Please stop,"  Logan said forcefully.

"Did something happen?"  I asked him.  Logan's silence was answer enough.

"Did he reject you or something?"

"Quite the opposite,"  He corrected.

"You rejected him!"  I yelled, earning some angry shushes from other people at the library.

"I did not mean to."  Logan defended himself.  "When the power went out, we were talking, things got heated and we almost kissed.  I pulled away before we could and I left and told him to forget it happened."

I sat in shocked silence for a bit.  I would be so happy if something like that happened to me.

"Logan I thought you were the smart one,"  I chastised him.

"I am, I don't understand what-"

"Then why did you do something so dumb?!"  I yelled, getting shushed again.

"I panicked."  Logan stated, his calm face not masking the swirl of emotions dancing behind his eyes.

"You need to apologize to Patton,"  I told him.

"You need to stay uninvolved in my love life,"  Logan said lowly, glaring at me.  I put my hands up in mock surrender and dropped the topic.

~•~

I sat at Coffee and Cream, waiting for Virgil and Damien to show up.  I was the first here because Logan all but kicked me out of the library after our discussion about Patton.

I already ordered myself a pumpkin spice latte, more than happy that it was fall so I can finally have my favorite Starbucks drink.

I sipped on it, eyeing the door.  It's getting kind of boring just sitting here.  I'm already on my second coffee.  Remy would be proud, but it's a Sunday so I need sleep to maintain my perfection.

But I just wanted to ram my head into a wall when Damien walked into the coffee shop.

I sighed, rolling my eyes.  He looked around a bit before seeing me.  He walked over and sat down in the booth across from me.

We glared at each other, sizing each other up.  We both liked Virgil, and we both knew that.  Maybe Damien didn't like Virgil romantically anymore, but I could still tell that he wants to be a close friend of Virgil.

Wait...where the hell did that scar on his face come from?  That was definitely not their the last time I saw him.

"Why happened to your face?"  I blurted out.

I didn't miss how Damien's eye twitched in anger.  It's a sore spot for him.

"I don't think that's any of your business,"  He said lowly.

"You'd tell Virgil,"  I scoffed.

"Well Virgil was there when it happened so I would hope he knew how I got this scar,"  He said with a smirk.  I just glared back at him.

"It wasn't there on Friday when we met,"  I said lowly.

"I usually try to wear makeup to cover it up,"  He explained.  "But today is not one of those days."

"Why are you here?"  I asked, switching conversations.

"I do believe that this was supposed to be Virgil and I hanging out, but you invited yourself along,"  Damien said, crossing his arms.

It's cause I completely don't trust you around Virgil and you're hella suspicious.  I had to bite my tongue to keep from snapping that at him.

We returned to just glaring at each other.  Damien ordered a black coffee, but otherwise, nothing else was said.

"Look Roman,"  Damien said, shifting in his seat.  "I can tell that you like Virgil but you're too egotistical to do anything."

I almost spit out my coffee.  I glared at him.

"I do not like Virgil like that."  I told him.

"Liar,"

"Yeah, says the guy no one knows anything about,"  I said while rolling my eyes.

"I have every right to keep my past a secret if I want to,"  He said lowly.

"Whatever,"  I breathed out.  We yet again returned to silence, just glaring at each other.

But I jumped when my phone went off, notifying me to a new text.  Damien laughed at me in a not so nice manor.  He got a very nice gesture with my hand in return.

Virgil 🖤🕸 - hey, I'm outside, some shit happened and I kinda don't wanna walk into the coffee shop rn just come outside with Damien please

I quickly got up, reading the text to Damien.  The way his face paled confirmed for me that he knew that Virgil's Dad is abusive.

We both headed outside, abandoning our coffees at our table.  I looked for Virgil not spotting him anywhere outside the coffee shop.

I rounded the corner into the alleyway, spotting a purple and black shape that could only be Virgil.

I motioned to Damien and than walked to Virgil.  I crouched down next to him and reached out for him.

Virgil looked up at me with a tear stricken face.  His eye was black and bruised.  Blood pouring from his nose and a cut on his cheek.
