Roman POV
I ran my hands through my hair, once again checking my appearance in the mirror. My date with Virgil is tonight!

I'm so excited. And also incredibly nervous. I've been on many dates with girls, so I'm experienced.

But not with guys.

This will be my first date with a guy. And with Virgil of all people. I really thought he was going to reject me.

And while all those dates with those girls didn't feel to special to me, there's just something about Virgil that genuinely draws me to him.  Something tells me tonight is going to be amazing.

I looked at myself in the mirror again. The Spaghetti Warehouse isn't really a fancy restaurant. Well it is expensive with really nice Italian food, but it's not like formal wear fancy.

I was wearing a nice pair of light blue jeans. I had a red T-shirt that had a gold crown on the right corner. I had on my letterman jacket, which completed the look if I do say so myself.

It's getting really cold out, so I hope I won't freeze to death. But I am one hundred percent ready to give Virgil my jacket and let myself freeze if he gets cold.

I checked my breath before grabbing my phone off my bed. I sent Virgil a text telling him I'd be over soon to pick him up.

I practically skipped down the steps to the front door. Mom was waiting there, giving me a knowing look.

"Hey Mom," I said awkwardly. She is unaware of my date with Virgil tonight. Or so I thought...

"Finally taking that Virgil boy out?" She asked with a smirk.

"Maybe," I said with an awkward laugh.

"Go get the boy then," Dad said, putting a hand on my shoulder. I jumped a bit in shock, completely unaware he was here. "It's rude to make your date wait for you."

"How did you two find out?" I asked them.

"You weren't exactly subtle when you were screaming about it to Patton," Mom teased. I blushed a bright red.

"Go!" Dad said, shoving me towards the door. "I'm glad you've finally figure yourself out."

I smiled widely, my heart warmed by my parents support.

"Thank you two so much," I thanked them. "This means so much to me." Dad laughed.

"Don't go getting to sentimental on me now," He laughed. "Now what did I say about keeping that date of yours waiting. What's his name again?"

"Virgil," Mom answered before I could. "He's the one that was over for a few days because...well because his father is not...well..."

"He's abusive and treats Virgil like garbage," I finished for her. Mom nodded slowly, her eyes full of sympathy.

"You'll take good care of him," Dad told him. "I know you will."

"Thanks Dad," I said with a smile. "And you were the one on me about getting there on time and now you've made me late with all this talking."

"Sorry," They both said with laughs. "Stay out as long as you need, feel free to bring Virgil back home with you. The farther he is from his dad the better."

I nodded in agreement, thanking them again. I turned and headed out the front door to my car.

I pulled the door open and sat down. I rubbed my hands a bit, waiting for the heat to kick on. I started driving over to Virgil's house.

I was cautious about parking in the driveway but I don't want Virgil walking though the cold. I waited a few moments, waiting for Virgil to come out of the house.

And then it happened. Virgil came running out of the door, a beer can following him. It landed harmlessly in the yard but Virgil was obviously panicked.

I reached over and opened the door for him. Virgil jumped in quickly, slamming the door shut behind him. I heard yelling so I quickly backed out of the driveway and started driving away.

"Sorry," Virgil chocked out when he calmed down.

"It's okay," I told him, slipping one hand into his hand. "What happened?"

"It was like setting a bomb off in the house when you pulled into the driveway," He explained, his grip tightening on my hand.

"Shit I'm so sorry," I told him.

"It's fine," He mumbled. "I've never been to this restaurant before. I hope it's not like formal wear but I guess not based on your outfit."

"Yeah you look amaz-FINE. You look fine." I rambled, my face flushed bright red. I looked over what Virgil was wearing.

A deep purple shirt, a black zip up hoodie, a beanie with a few pins on it, black converse, black skinny jeans. A little bit of smudged eyeliner.

"Thanks Princey," Virgil laughed at my embarrassment. We drove in comfortable silence until we reached the restaurant.

I stopped the car and hopped out before Virgil could even react. I raced over to his side of the car and opened the door for him in an overdramatic manor.

"You're sure a romantic dork," Virgil teased in a playful manor.

"Well it's easy when my date is an adorable flustered mess," I teased right back, watching in amusement as a blush tinged Virgil's cheek.

"Shut it," He grumbled in embarrassment. I laughed and intertwined our fingers. We headed towards the restaurant.

I held the door open for Virgil. We walked over to the greeter. I held up to fingers, making sure to leave my other hand in Virgil's. I can tell he gets more anxious in crowded places.

A waiter led us to a table for two in a corner of the restaurant. Virgil and I sat down and started going through the menu.

He just got a glass of water, while I asked for a Diet Coke. Virgil looked anxiously at the menu.

"Don't worry about price," I told him. "I'm paying tonight."

"It's not the money I'm worried about," He mumbled, not looking up at me. It took a while for it to click in my mind.

I kept looking over the menu until I noticed how high in calories a lot of these foods were. Then I took into notice how skinny Virgil is, how his clothes hang off his frame.

"Order whatever you want, eat what you can and then you'll get leftovers too," I told him gently. Virgil smiled weakly up at me.

Eventually the waiter came back to take our orders.  I ordered the specialty here, fifteen layer lasagna.  Best stuff around.  Virgil opted for something smaller, getting the cheese ravioli.

"I think I've officially burst my stomach open,"  I grumbled, shoveling the last bite of lasagna into my mouth.

Virgil laughed at me.  Him laughing and actually eating made me feel better though.  He was actually happy tonight.

Sure he had mostly picked at the ravioli, but he did eat some of it.  I'm hoping whatever he is struggling with when it comes to food is something from living in a home with virtually no food and not something he does voluntarily.

"I told you to slow down,"  Virgil reminded me.

"I'll be fine,"  I told him, trying to act tough.

"Sure, whatever you want to tell yourself Princey,"  Virgil snickered.

Eventually we were given the check.  I payed quickly, not letting Virgil see the price even though he tried too.

I don't care if this place is expensive.  I have the money and Virgil is happy.  I plan on spoiling Virgil a lot in the future if we start dating.

I stood up slowly, feeling a little better.  I don't feel sick, but I am definitely stuffed.  Virgil laughed at me again as he stood up.

We left the restaurant and headed towards my car.  The sun had set, making it even colder out.

"How the hell do you eat so much but stay in such good shape?"  Virgil asked.

"You saying you like my body?"  I teased, flexing a bit.  Virgil blushed bright red and looked at his shoes.

"No,"  He stammered out.

"It's just football practice and I work out something and by that I mean a lot,"  I told him.  "And musical is a lot more work then people think."

"Well I will not being doing either of those,"  Virgil said while rolling his eyes.  "Way too social for me."

I laughed at his comment, starting the car.  We were both shaking a bit from the cold.

"Do you went to stay the weekend at my house, my parents said it's okay,"  I suggested.  "Or do you want me to take you home."

"I don't want to burden you and your family,"  Virgil started but I cut him off.

"You won't, promise,"  I told him.

"I guess your house would be better then mine,"  He mumbled, a blush on his cheeks again.

I smiled and started driving home.  We drove in silence, Virgil deep in thought as he stared out the window.

I pulled into my driveway, getting out of the car slowly this time.  Virgil followed me out of the car but shuddered as a particularly cold, strong gust of wind passed through.

I will uphold my promise I made before the date.  I quickly shrugged off my letterman jacket and wrapped it around Virgil.

He flushed and looked up at me in shock.  I smirked at him, enjoying how adorable he looked.  It was a good two or three sizes to big on him.

"Keep it,"  I told him.  "You look a lot better in it then I do."

"Roman I can't take your letterman jacket,"  He told me.  I paused from unlocking the door and turned back to him.

"Why not?"  I asked.  "You looked positively precious in it."

"Sorry I'm not trying to look like that,"  Virgil scoffed.  "But you worked hard to get this jacket, I can't just take it from you."

We were standing only a few inches apart.  Another gust of wind blew through, pushing Virgil's bangs away from his face.  It gave a few brief moments of seeing his entire beautiful face.

"Would you feel better about it we were more then friends?"  I asked softly, honestly afraid of what he might answer.

But Virgil had no answer.  He seemed honestly shocked by the idea.  I looked down at his lips, enjoying how much shorter he was to me.

I towered over him, giving me the advantage.  Virgil moved a bit, turning his head up.  His lips were parted slightly, as if silently begging me to kiss him.

I slowly leaned down.
