TRIGGER WARNINGS : talks about abusive relationship, implied self harm and anorexic

Logan POV
"We have two weeks until midterms,"  I reminded everyone.  I turned the page of my notes, looking up a bit to see everyone's reactions.

"Fuck me,"  Remy sighed, slamming his head down on the cafeteria table.

"Kill me now,"  Virgil grumbled, mimicking Remy's action.

"Welp, we're all going to fail,"  Roman said with a laugh.  "So at least we're failing together."

"You could always try studying,"  Emile laughed, looking up from the binder resting against his knees.

"I don't got time for that bullshit,"  Remy complained.

"Yes you do,"  Emile said, giving him a stern look.

"What are exams like here?"  Damien asked, looking up from his own notes.

"Only three days of exams, first one starts at 8:30 and only lasts an hour.  You can leave during the break but you have to be back by noon.  Then another hour of exams and you can go home."  Virgil explained.

"Who else will spend those hours crying about their future instead of studying?"  Roman asked, taking a bite of his sandwich.

"Me,"  Virgil, Quinn, Remy, and Damien all said at the same time.

"Do any of you know how to study?"  I asked.  "If you do it the right way-"

"Shut it nerd,"  Remy grumbled.  "We aren't smart like you and Damien."

"Remy be nice,"  Patton chastised, resting his head on my shoulder. I glanced over at Patton in worry, making sure to give him a quick kiss.

Ever since the incident with Patton's parents, Patton hasn't stopped wearing his cat hoodie or some sort of long sleeves. I think I know why he's wearing only long sleeves and the extremely possible explanation is terrifying to me.

"Speaking of Damien," Roman said, looking over to him. "How are you two doing?"

Quinn looked up from his phone with a blush. He was wearing Damien's jacket. Also leaning against him, Damien's arm around Quinn's shoulders.

Damien has rarely left Quinn's side since school starts.  Only for classes they didn't have together.  Ever since Quinn's Dad escaped, everyone's been treating Quinn even worse.  They were screaming horrible things at him earlier and Jackson already tried to attack him.

"We're doing okay," Damien said. Quinn nodded along, a blush still dusting his cheeks.

"How's Evan?" Virgil asked.

"He was doing okay yesterday," Damien answered.

"I'm texting him," Quinn said.

"How's he doing?" Emile asked with a smile.

"I thought he couldn't talk during school, they don't allow phones there and I know Evan doesn't break rules," Damien said, confusion evident on his face.

"He has a seizure so he went home," Quinn mumbled.

"A seizure?" Patton gasped, worry filling his voice.

"Evan has epilepsy," Quinn explained. "Just some assholes at school messing with the lights to set him off." Damien didn't say anything but his face twisted with anger.

"Is he okay?" Damien finally said.

"Yeah, it's nothing he's not used to.  He said his mom, Ophelia, is going off about how the three of us are soulmates and we have another one that's going to join this year," Quinn mumbled with a shrug. "Evan's believing all of it."

"Seriously?" Damien asked with a laugh. Quinn just nodded.

"Oh my goodness that's so cute," Roman exclaimed with excitement.

"Soulmates is so romantic!" Patton squealed, holding his hands to his heart.

"As long as it's a healthy relationship," Emile added.

"How would a soulmate relationship not be healthy?"  Remy asked, holding his hand out in confusion.

"Do you think we're soulmates Lo?"  Patton asked me.

"Soulmates aren't real,"  I told him.  Patton frowned with a sad look in his eyes.

"But you two are simply meant to be~"  Roman sang in a cheesy Disney voice.

I just sighed and looked back down to my notes.  Even if everyone else excepted failure on their midterms, I will not.

"Evan's going to meet Remus for coffee now," Quinn said with a sigh. Something flashed in Damien's eye and it wasn't anything good.

"Why does Remus spend so much time with Evan all the sudden?" I asked. "Evan is underage, is he not?"

"He is," Damien answered. "We don't know why they spend so much time together."

"Oh my god what is Remus is the one that...uh what's her name?" Roman started.

"Ophelia, Evan's Mom," Damien sighed. Roman just sighed with a shrug.

"What if Remus is the fourth soulmate that's going to join?" Roman asked excitedly.

"No," Both Damien and Quinn said.

"What, why not?" Roman asked, quick to defend his brother who he seemed to hate last time they interacted.

"He's scary," Quinn mumbled, shrinking under everyone's gazes.

"He's an idiot," Damien said, easily pulling the attention to himself.

"He's just...difficult sometimes," Roman defended.

"Difficult all the time," Damien sighed.

"He's trying to make amends," Roman argued. "He's back home and I'm sorry it offends you that he's trying to make friends with better influences."

"We just don't want Evan getting hurt," Damien said lowly.

"Remus already has a boyfriend so calm your jealous asses down," Roman said angrily, glaring at the two.

"He does?" Virgil asked in confusion.

"Yeah, his name's Issac," Roman mumbled. "He's an asshole and I don't like him. He treats Remus like shit but Remus won't fucking see it. Issac made Remus drop out of college and encouraged horrible behavior that got them in trouble and even now that he's home, he's still seeing that douche."

Roman paused, seeming to realize that he just ranted about Remus's boyfriend to us. Virgil looked surprised, this obviously being new information to them. Quinn has a worried look but Damien remained indifferent.

"Apologies," Roman mumbled, looking down in shame. "I just want Remus out that relationship and in one as wholesome and safe and good as yours."

He turned to Damien and Quinn with a strange expression. Emotions will never make sense to me.

"Thank you for the compliment but considering the extremely small amount of time we've spent with Remus and how Evan is still underage," Damien said. "We're fine just the three of us

Roman sighed and dropped the subject. Lunch was uncomfortable now. I looked back to my notes with Emile, most everyone else went back to their lunches.

But Patton didn't even bring a lunch with him. Only increasing my worry for him. I slipped my hand into his, but stayed looking at my notes.

Patton leaned his head on my shoulder again, silent. Virgil doing the same to Roman, but in a more comforting manner.

Finally the bell rang, allowing us to go to next period. Luckily this is my life science class with Patton, Remy and Emile.

Patton and I headed to class while Remy and Emile disappeared into the bathrooms first.

Before Patton could walk into the classroom, I gently nudged him next to the wall and away from the door.

"Patton I'm worried about you," I said gently. "You aren't eating and you refuse to wear anything that doesn't hide your wrists."

"I...I don't know what you're talking about," Patton mumbled, his face paling. He looked down at the floor and crossed his arms over his chest.

"I won't press it here considering that we're in school," I said gently. "But this is something you either need to talk to me, Emile or an adult about."

"I know," Patton whispered, barely louder than a breath.

"I care deeply for you Patton," I told him, accenting it with a quick kiss. "I don't want to loose you."

"Love you Logie," Patton mumbled but then instantly froze up.

We've never said those words to each other. We don't say 'I love you'. I thought we weren't there yet. Patton tells everyone he loves them, especially his close friends, but it meant something more now considering that we're dating.

I froze up, dealing with what I've heard Remy to call a 'gay panic'. Patton looked adorable. He looked utterly embarrassed with himself, his cheeks dusted bright pink and his eyes wide with worry.

"I love you too Patton," I told him with a soft smile.
