8. Is Our Love Gone?
"Don't touch it."
Mina's small slender fingers retracted from the medium sized cream seashell that lay on the table next to Jungkook's car keys and wallet. She swallowed silently, her round eyes glancing up to meet Jungkook's glare over his laptop across from her.
She moved her eyes from him and down to the plate in front of her, too intimidated with her husband's strong stare.
She played with the scrambled eggs on her plate, barely touching her food as she tried to muster up every bit of courage she could to ask the one question that had been on her mind since the night before. She wished to ask a lot sooner, but seeing as Jungkook and her didn't have the best relationship, and that his temper had doubled since the events of last night, she didn't dare to say a word.
"Who... was that girl?" she finally let the question slip and interrupt the cloud of uncomfortable silence that filled the room. She overheard who the woman that appeared at dinner was, but she wanted to hear it from him; who she really was to him.
"That's none of your business." he answered, not even sparing her a glance.
Mina bit her bottom lip, disagreeing with his statement. She was now his wife. She had the right to know who that woman was, and why she came claiming that she had his child.
"I'm your wife, I deserve to know."
Jungkook's eyes flickered from the screen of his laptop to Mina, his eyes piercing into hers.
"You're not my wife." he spoke, his voice low.
He watched as her hard expression from moments ago broke.
"I was forced into this marriage. I have no feelings for you, and never will. Don't expect to have the happily-married-couple dream come true, because it won't."
Jungkook stood up, pushing his chair back, taking his laptop, keys, wallet, and seashell as Mina only stared with hurt, her eyes watering as he walked away.

"Mr.Kim, Mr.Jeon is waiting outside."
Your attention turned to the maid who had joined you outside, where you were out eating breakfast under the bright sun.
"Oh, thank you Aera," Taehyung spoke, putting his fork down as his eyes drifted to you. You locked eyes for a moment before you looked to your side to see Eun still munching on her piece of toast.
"I guess it's time to go." you said dryly as Taehyung gave you an apologetic smile.
Letting out a breath of air, you stood up, telling Eun that it was time to go. She followed you obediently to the front of the house where you spotted a black Mercedes parked on the large driveway.
Once you made sure that you had everything, you forced yourself to step out the door, Eun's small hand holding yours as you both walked towards the car, Taehyung following you from behind.
You nervously opened the back door, spotting Jungkook in the driver's seat with his back turned to you as if it were casual for you to get into his car, like he didn't care at all.
It hurt more than it should.
You wondered what made him change his mind and give your daughter a chance, even though there could be a chance that he isn't his. But it was too obvious that it was. Eun couldn't be someone else's. It couldn't be his. She had to be Jungkook's.
It was an internal conflict that you had been dealing with ever since you found out that you were pregnant. But, apparently it was time that you found out the truth.
"What are you doing?" Jungkook's voice caught your attention, making you look up from the seat in front of you.
"I'm coming with you."
You watched Taehyung take a seat next to Jungkook, the younger looking at him with furrowed brows, yet kept his mouth shut and started the car.
The drive to the hospital was completely silent. Yet, your heart pounded in your ears, making you take a few moments to take deep breaths to calm it down.
It didn't work.
How could it when he was so close? Was it wrong that even through the events of the previous night that your heart still yearned for him? For him to look into your eyes with his soft gaze that he would once stare at you with while he would peck a random spot on your face in hopes of making you smile and giggle. And you would watch him smile and chuckle with you before finding another spot to kiss.
Some memories were hard to reminisce because of the pain that they brought with them, especially since they no longer exist. You were like strangers now. Strangers that once shared a wonderful past. A past that was torn from its beauty.
You found it difficult to look back without remembering the events of that night. The night that you were left on the streets. The one you would never forgive him for.
The car came to a full stop, the engine being turned off by the same man that ran through your mind. He opened his car door and stepped out, Taehyung following, and you as well as you held your daughters hand tightly.
You all neared the doors of the hospital silently as Jungkook walked ahead of you, Taehyung trying to keep a steady pace to walk alongside you.
Jungkook spoke to the receptionist for a moment before heading towards the left side of the hospital and you could do nothing but follow.
Eventually you arrived at the lab, where they would take the DNA samples, your nerves only becoming all the more frantic. You prayed that everything would turn out the way you wished it would.

"What do you mean the results will come in tomorrow?"
Jungkook stood with his arms crossed, his brows narrowed as he stared at the doctor.
"I'm sorry Mr.Jeon, but that's the earliest possible. We have to wait for the process of the test to take its course before we can give the results out. There's nothing I can do." the doctor spoke calmly, explaining the situation as Jungkook's tongue poked his inner cheek. His eyes flickered to you for a moment before returning back to the doctor.
"Okay. I will be back tomorrow."
