5. Eun

Jungkook's heart was beating fast, his breath caught in his throat as he held you in his arms. Panic and worry rushed through him as he stood up, not giving a care about the shocked eyes that stared after him and instead carried your weak body while rushing inside the large house. He didn’t even notice the seashell that slipped out of your hand.

Eun picked up the shell before running after him as fast as her small legs could take her, everyone else watching them in shock.

Finally finding an empty guest room, Jungkook pushed the door open with his shoulder, laying you on the bed. He turned to lock the door and watched as Eun ran in before he could, quickly making her way to her mother's side, clearly afraid without her.

Once locking the door, he turned to the younger girl.

"Is your mother sick?"

Eun shook her head, holding tightly onto your hand.

"Who's your real father?" he continued to ask, anger was laced in his voice.

"Y-you are."

"I don't have a daughter."

“My mom said that you are.”

“Your mother is a liar.” he took a step towards her and your unconscious figure, a dark look in his eyes. "She always has been."

“My mom never lies!” Eun exclaimed, finding the courage to respond to him, even with his threatening glares, she knew that she had to protect you.

Jungkook just chuckled and tilted his head back, veins popping out on the side of his neck as he tried to calm his nerves.

This couldn't be happening, you appeared out of nowhere eight years after abandoning him, and with his so-called daughter. He was convinced  that you were lying—no— he knew you were, because that's all that you had done to him. You betrayed him and left him to deal with his own heart break all alone, with no clue of where you were.

The sound of a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts, and soon he was opening the door to come face to face with his sister.

"Mother is calling you, you should come." she whispered the last part, trying to show how urgent it is.

Nodding his head, he ran his fingers through his hair stressfully.

“You stay here, I’ll be back.” he spoke to Eun before leaving the room.

"Jeon Jungkook, what is the meaning of this!" Mrs.Jeon yelled as soon as he stepped foot back outside with his family staring at him. "What is that girl doing here, and what does she mean that you have a daughter!"

"I don't know!" he argued.

"You better fix this and get her out of here. You're a married man, don't bring shame to our family name." his mother hissed, her gaze strong and authoritative.

Jungkook could do nothing but remain silent along with everyone else as they watched Mrs.Jeon walk away.

"I thought she died." someone whispered.

"Some people say that she threw herself off a cliff."

Jungkook raised his head to look at his two cousins that were whispering to each other. Sending them a glare, he turned his back on them in the direction of the house. Even Taehyung was left speechless over everything that had just happened within the few moments.

Slumping onto a chair, he stared off into space.

"I can't believe this, his Y/n is the same as my Y/n, no way."  he muttered. "Oh god, this is not good, this is not good at all."

You woke up only minutes ago and found Eun clutching onto you tightly. Sitting up, you observed the room that you were in, pulling Eun into your arms.

"I don't want to go with him." Eun said, clearly on the verge of crying. "He's mean and doesn't like me." you knew she was referring to Jungkook.

"You don't know that baby, he's just surprised. And you know that you have to go with him. It's not safe for you otherwise." you spoke as you stroked her hair. The room's door opening startled you both as Jungkook walked in with a serious face, noticing that you woke up.

"Baby, can you go outside for a moment? We're going to have some adult talk, okay?" Eun gave you a sad face as she pulled away from you. As she was about to leave, she ran back to you.

"You dropped this" she said as she placed the white seashell in the palm of your hand. You thanked her before watching her walk out the door.

Jungkook closed the door behind her, his gaze on you the entire time.

"Why are you here." his voice was deep. You stood up from the bed and stood across from him.

"As I said before, I came to bring you your–"

"I don't have a daughter!" he suddenly exclaimed, startling you. "I know you're lying. Who knows whose daughter she actually is, but she is definitely not mine."

"I'm not lying." you stayed calm as you stared deeply into his dark orbs.

"Oh really?" he took a step towards you, towering over your smaller figure. "Then why, after eight full years, do you appear out of nowhere. If she really is my daughter, then why didn't you come to me before? Why Y/n—why are you suddenly here? During the exact time that I decided to get my life back together after you left me?! Just as I'm trying to fix my broken heart that you abandoned me with, you reappear!"

"You think that you were the only one that was left with a broken heart?!" you finally yelled, tears forming in your eyes. You couldn’t keep your calm facade any longer, the true colours of your emotions began seeping through "If there is one person who is the cause of all this, it's you! You—Jeon Jungkook—you didn’t believe me, you kicked me out! You left me in the dark on the streets when all I did was tell you the truth!”

“You lied to me then and you’re lying to me now. Take your daughter and leave” you could see the tears that he was trying to hold back from his glossy eyes as he pointed at the door.

"Eun is going nowhere." you said firmly, not moving an inch as you held the shell in your hand tightly. You weren't going to give up on your daughter's safety that easily.

"Eun…?" Jungkook's voice grew soft "You named her Eun?"

You nodded as he searched your eyes, finally revealing the shell you held in your hands to him.

He glanced at you and then at the shell, his lips parting. His hands trembling, he slowly reached for the seashell.

"You kept it." he muttered, running his thumb over the smooth surface.

"I did." you responded "I know you think I'm lying, but I'm telling the truth. If you want you can get a DNA test done." you spoke carefully while trying to get him to look at you, but he just shut his eyes.

"No" he said.

"What do you mean no?"

"You're lying" his eyes opened, and his fire filled eyes replaced his soft ones from before.

"I'm not lying—"

He grabbed your hand and opened the door, dragging you with him.

"What are you doing?!" you exclaimed as you  struggled to catch up with him, catching Eun following the both of you.

He pushed open the front door of the large house and threw you out.

"I'm done with your sick lies, take your daughter and leave!" he yelled. "I don't want anything to do with you in my life anymore, just go back to whatever hell hole you came from." Jungkook's eyes had practically turned red by then, smoke coming out of his ears. You wondered what happened to the old caring Jungkook that you fell in love with so long ago.

Eun clutched onto your leg, tears of fear rolling down her cheeks at the man who kept screaming and threw her mom out.

Unable to respond to him, he slammed the front door, leaving you both out and alone in the dark, just like he had done once before.

Your own tears run down your cheeks until you wiped them away to hug Eun.

"Everything is going to be fine baby" you said as you held her tightly, but the seven year old's cries wouldn't die down.

"Y/n" you lifted your head up to see Taehyung approaching you both. "Did he hurt you?" he asked softly.

You shook your head and wiped yet another tear.

"Let me take you both home."

"No it's okay, I don't want to be a burden." you answered as you stroked your daughter's hair, noticing that her cries had slowly died down. "Anyways, I don't think Jungkook would be happy to hear about it."

"I don't care if he is or not, I'm not letting you both stay on the streets. Please."

You took a glance towards him and then your daughter in your arms, and finally gave in for the sake of her.

"Thank you Taehyung."
