10. Don't Leave me
“Eun,” Jungkook spoke out of the blue. “If we have a daughter, I want to name her Eun.”
Your fingers grazed over the soft strands of hair that fell over his forehead, brushing them back to reveal your lover’s galaxy eyes.
“Why Eun?” you asked, his stare falling on you as he smiled.
“I mean, why not? It has a nice ring to it. It’s easy to remember too. I don’t know, I always just had the thought of naming my daughter Eun.”
You hummed in response, admiring the glimmer in his eyes as he talked about the possibilities of the future while resting his head on your lap amongst the cherry trees.
“And if we have a boy?” you asked, watching as his lips twisted in deep thought.
“I haven’t really thought about that one.” he answered after some moments, his eyes finding your own as your brow raised. “Probably ‘cause I want a daughter first, then maybe a son.”
His lips spread out into a smile as he caught sight of a cherry blossom in your hair. He raised his hand and reached for the flower, tucking it near your ear instead.
“There’s something about having a mini you that I love.”
You giggled after his confession, mirroring the loving gaze he gave you.
“You know, girls tend to look more like their fathers. So it would be a mini you, instead of a mini me.” you spoke as he shrugged with a grin along his lips.
“As long as I get to have a mini us, I don’t care who they look like.” He sat up, brushing your hair back with a soft look in his eyes. “Ten days,” he continued, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Ten days left until we can make it all come true.”

“These are your test results, sir.” the nurse handed Jungkook a white envelope from over the front desk with a kind smile. Jungkook returned a small smile of his own and thanked the nurse before turning to you, Eun, and Taehyung.
"How about we do this outside?" Taehyung suggested, and you all complied.
The walk to reach the exit felt far too long. Jungkook could feel the envelope burning into his skin, reminding him that it existed, and so did the test results which it held within it.
As soon as the four of you had stepped outside, you formed a mini circle a few metres away from the entrance of the hospital.
Taking a deep breath, Jungkook turned over the envelope. Your eyes met for a brief moment before he returned his gaze back to the paper and began tearing it open.
He could feel the way that his heart began to hammer, a slight tremble in his actions. He couldn’t push down his fears this time as they only grew stronger. He was seconds away from finding out if he had a daughter. One he was clueless of until just two days ago.
Unconsciously, you squeezed your daughter’s hand, your eyes on the letter that he pulled out. The small circle that you had formed along the side of the hospital wall was completely silent, as if everyone was holding their breath. And you were.
Jungkook’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he unfolded the letter, scanning over the sheet full of terms he couldn’t define. He then reached the very bottom.
Positive.
Their DNA match was positive. He had a daughter.
A slight smile crept up his lips as he looked up from the letter and to you. Clearing his throat, he finally spoke.
“It’s positive.”
You let out the breath of air you were holding, a sense of relief washing over your body. He handed you the sheet to observe.
He was right, it was positive.
Eun went onto her tippy toes, peering over your arm to try and understand what was going on.
"Mommy?" She asked, looking up at you with confused eyes. You gave her a smile, and ran your hair through her silky hair, handing the letter to Taehyung. You then shared glances with Jungkook for a moment before looking back at your daughter.
"Honey, Jungkook is your father." You spoke softly, stroking her hair. You watched her attention draw to the man that stood tall across from her with a soft smile. "You'll be leaving with him."
This time, it was Jungkook's turn to be puzzled. His brows had furrowed while trying to understand.
Did you just say that she was leaving with him? But why?
"I'll take her stuff out of the car." Taehyung spoke, knowing that it was best if he left you both alone to talk. "Eun, want to help me?" He turned to the younger who continued to clutch onto your hand. She glanced up at you, receiving a nod in return.
You watched them walk away towards the car.
"She's staying with me?" Jungkook broke the short moment of silence, making you look his way.
"Yes." You nodded an answer, avoiding his eyes.
"Why?" He asked, "What about you?"
"I'm leaving." You respond, pursing your lips, "You'll have full custody of her. She doesn't need me."
Jungkook's face hardened, his tongue poking his inner cheek.
"Have you lost your mind? You're just going to leave her with me and disappear, just like you did with me?"
He was fuming at the thought of you dropping your own child and leaving her without a single word like you had done years before. He couldn't stand her going through the same emotions - the same heart break. He just couldn't understand the reason behind the actions you were taking.
"Yes." Your face remained emotionless as you looked away from your past lover. "But just like last time, I have a reason to do so." You found some courage to stare up at him, noticing the way that the muscles of his flexed with narrow eyes.
"If you ever tried to put yourself in my shoes you'd understand, but you never did, and I don't expect you to now." You add, looking away once more and taking a small step back. All you wanted to do was be back in Taehyung's car where his strong glares weren't boring into you.
"If I were you, I'd never leave the people who love me, yet you did. And you did it so easily, one would think you never loved them in the first place." He spoke up, noticing how you were trying to escape with small steps. But he had had enough of it. He wanted to know the reason behind the pain you caused him for so many years.
"Well," you began, glancing up at him one more time. "only some will know the truths behind who was pained the most." You didn't break eye contact, and continued to stare into his hardened ebony eyes. "But out of the two of us, it definitely wasn't you." You finally broke the gaze and swallowed the lump in your throat.
"Take good care of her. She deserves to have the love of a father. She definitely won't give you a hard time, as she's always been understanding." You tried to blink back your tears as you spoke, finding it almost impossible to do so. "Just please, make her happy, and don't let her forget me."
You sniffed and wiped your tears, avoiding his eyes before turning your back and making your way towards the car.
