"So you're leaving me all alone while you'll be spending time with your little family?" Nikki asked as I had just come down after a shower.

"Oh don't give me that face! You're driving out to meet John!" She smiled .

"You have a point there! What time is Jenna dropping Lucy off?"

"Well..." I heard the doorbell and stood up.

"I guess now "

I opened the door and Lucy immediately wrapped her arms around me.

I was so happy to be spending the day with her and Roman, it was just what I needed. I ignored the pain in my ribs as she held me tightly.

"Aunty Mi!" She squealed.

I laughed and hugged her back that's when I noticed Seth holding crutches and the knee brace .

"What happened to you?" I asked as Lucy ran into the house to find Nikki.

"Landed incorrectly on Thursday during a live event.. Rookie fucking mistake" he sighed.

"Oh my word! Do you wanna come in?" I asked, I couldn't believe it happened to him.

He was the face of the company, every man wanted to be him right now and here he stood in front of me like that.

"No its fine Mi...I had to call a car service since I can't drive so they're waiting" he pointed behind him.

"Where's Jenna?" I asked as I remembered Roman had said that she would drop Lucy off.

"She had to work so here I am" he smiled.

"I'm so sorry about your injury. I guess I'll see you tomorrow then!" I leaned against the door wishing he would take the offer to come inside but he didn't.

I could tell he was hurting in more ways than one and probably had to put on a brave face for Lucy all morning.

I stepped forward and hugged him, he returned it as best he could.

"Yeah don't be late though!" He said as he turned away from me.

"I won't" I smiled as I closed the door after watching him get into the SUV.

"Roman just called ...his flight got delayed" Nikki told me as I entered the kitchen and I saw Lucy playing a game on the phone.

"seriously?" I sighed and she nodded.

"He said you guys should go though, he'll meet you there as soon as he can"

"He thinks he'll make it?" I asked as I sat down next to Lucy.

"Yeah he'll be a few hours late but he said he would and you know with his concern over your incident. He definitely won't."

"Okay then Lucy, its going to be a girls day while we wait for your dad to get home" I smiled.

"Yay! Now we can go visit the Princesses without daddy getting tired" she smiled.

I laughed as I recalled how Roman would roll his eyes each time we were dragged from one princess to the next..

"Come on, we might as well get going now Luc, so we can get in line for some good rides. When last have you been there?" I asked as I fixed the straps of her backpack so I could carry it for her.

"Okay Aunty Mi... with you, daddy, Aunty Coco and Uncle John.."

"Okay that was way too long ago! Maybe you'll be tall enough to go on some other rides this year"

"I hope so..." I saw her eyes fill with excitement at the thought. She set Nikki's phone down and hopped off the stool and hugged Nikki.

"Bye Aunty Coco .."

"Bye cutie! See you tomorrow" she kissed her forehead.

" Can you pass me the Range Rover's keys please?" I begged.

"You are so lucky Lucy is here, you know I was planning on taking it!" She rolled her eyes but handed it to me.

"Love you too!" I laughed as I took Lucy's hand.

"I love ice-cream!" Lucy giggled as we sat down on a bench.

We had gone on about three rides and I am pretty sure we had met every princess in the place .

"Me too! Its almost your birthday !" I remembered even though mine was actually sooner.

She immediately smiled brightly, unlike me she loved hers, "what should I get you?"

"Chocolate cake" she smiled and licked some of the ice-cream off her top lip.

"That's your request every year Luc, what else?"

I smiled as the first time I attended her birthday party three years ago I had made the cake and she insisted on it every year since then...

"You can marry my daddy" I nearly choked on my ice-cream as she said it.

"Aunty Mi, are you okay?" She stood in front of me and I nodded.

"So are you going to Aunty?" She asked.

"Uhm not now love, but I will soon if you want me to.."

I smiled as I didn't think she had realized but that's the thing about kids they notice everything.

Nikki and I hadn't done much planning but I guess that was my fault as each time we saw each other we argued over something.

"I want to throw flowers at your wedding, my friend said that's what she did at her Aunty's wedding" she rambled on and I shook my head and smiled as I listened.

"So you want me to have a cake as big as you?" I tried to hide my smile at all the requests she had made so far.

She wanted to wear a white dress, she didn't want her hair straight as she wanted her hair to look like her Mommy's when we attended events. She also wanted Viper to walk with her in a white suit jacket and the list went on .

I actually liked her ideas and I had to remember to mention it to Nikki so she could stop being concerned about me and we could move forward.

"Yes! Then there will be enough for everyone and it will be very pretty!"

I was about to respond when I heard that voice. I wished I was wrong but deep down I knew I wasn't so lucky.

"You know what's prettier than the wedding cake?"

Lucy shook her head as he sat next to her.

"The bride which is your beautiful Aunty Mi over there" he smiled brightly.

"Aunty Mi, whose this?" She leaned closer to me and whispered. I saw him smirk as he could hear her.

"A friend of my family love, but I'm sure he has somewhere to go to... " I quickly stood up and gripped her hand.

Threatening and hurting me was one thing, but bringing Lucy into it was a whole different story.

"Hey, Dear family friend I wanted to spend some time with you its been so long!" He faked.

He then gripped my wrist and I winced but immediately stopped as I remembered Lucy.

"Aaron please.." I whispered, he smirked and let go.

"Come on girls let's go have some fun! Do you wanna have some fun?" He asked overly excited and Lucy laughed and nodded.

We had just gotten off our second ride with Aaron and all I wanted was for him to disappear.

"I kinda get why you like this whole step mom thing, she's a cute little kid" he whispered.

I looked at my watch and realized Roman would be here soon or he was probably here somewhere and I needed to get rid of Aaron.

"Lucy why don't you try to get us a teddy bear!" I smiled as I pointed to the stall which had water guns where you had to knock over some stuff.

"Okay" she smiled and ran over and. I watched her as Aaron stood in front of me.

"Roman's going to be here soon, you need to leave!" I couldn't hide the anxiousness in my voice.

"Actually I should stay.. Spend some quality time with these people you love so much.. " he smiled as he was clearly enjoying seeing me on edge.

"Aaron please just go now or I'll..."

"Or you'll what huh?" He gripped my arm as he asked through gritted teeth and I was grateful for my cardigan I wore.

"I'll scream.." I looked down.

"Oh we both know you wouldn't do that.. You can't afford to risk it, if you scream there could be a commotion that precious little Lucy could be ripped away. I mean like I said she's a cute kid and cute kids get taken all the time"

"You wouldn't ..." I shook my head as he had basically threatened her life.

"I actually feel honoured that you still think I have a heart but yes. I definitely would and then what would you do? What would you tell dear fiance Roman then? "

I could feel tears welling in my eyes at the thought of anything happening to her.

"I'm sorry.." I whispered and looked down again and as I did he pulled me close and punched me hard against my arm.

"Next time you think you can order me around I'll fucking break it! Now fucking smile!"

I immediately smiled even though there were tears streaming down my face. To anyone it would most likely be a normal couple having an argument but also, this place was so full no one even noticed things happening.

"Since you do not have a phone I am forced to come in person. I want 50k in my bank account by Monday sweetie or else" he smiled.

I nodded and he kissed my cheek and disappeared in the crowd as I looked over, Lucy was still playing and I slowly walked over to her.

"Are you winning Luc.."

She nodded and then I saw the guy hand her a big fluffy bunny.

"Uhm Lucy when dad comes don't tell him about Aunty's friend okay?" I crouched down to her level.

"Why not?" She held a confused expression as she was still focused on the bunny.

"Because daddy will be sad cause he didn't get to see Aunty's friend cause he was late"

"Okay I won't, I don't want daddy to be sad" she nodded.

"Pinky promise?"

"Pinky promise!" She smiled as we did it and I hugged her tightly.

Maybe a little too tight but I just needed to hold her as the thought of her being gone tore me apart inside, if anything happened to her I would never be able to live with myself.

As I let her go, I saw her face scrunch up as she looked at me and then she looked at the bunny and then gave it to me, "he can make you happy Aunty..."

I frowned in confusion and she reached out and wiped my cheeks. I realized I had been so concerned about getting to her I forgot about it. I immediately stood up straight and wiped my tears.

"I'm not sad sweetie, its just allergies.."

"But you can still have him, he'll make you feel better Aunty Mi.." She smiled.

"Thank you Luc!" I pulled her into a hug again as I held the bunny close to me.

This little girl meant as much to me as the man I loved and I would die before I let anything happen to her. Even though the pain of my arm was unbearable I wouldn't mind suffering as long as she was here .
