Gerald version
We arrived to the hospital. Dylan was in a critical condition. Her eyes were still open. I main her to keep them open. Her light brown eyes shined as the light hit them. "We're here baby. Okay. Everything will be just okay." She raises her hand to my cheek and wipes of the tear. "It's okay baby. I'm not crying." I kissed her one last time.
"Sir, we have to take her for an emergency surgery to save her life." One of the doctor said.
"Okay." They entered to the double doors. I felt I was never going to see her again. I went down to my knees. At that time I cried because I was afraid to lose her. I got up and sat down in one chair the waiting room. I didn't call anyone because I didn't want them to come or be worried. I have one of my girls safe and sound but i have the other one fighting for her life.

My clothes were covered in my wife's blood. Everyone else were staring at me if I just came out from a crime scene or save from a serial killer in a movie. I felt my eyes watery from crying. I sniffed my nose every time i cried quietly. I was seeing the photo in my lock screen of us, in our wedding day. Me, Suz and me happily. I just want everything to be back to normal like before.

"Gerald?" I heard a voice. "Gerald wake up." Then i woke up. I seen my mom with another set of clothes and blanket. The first thing I did when I seen her, I gave her a hug and cried in her shoulder. She hugged me. "It's okay, Gerald. Dylan is a strong person. She will get through this." She sees me and she wiped my tears "Suz is back at my house with Mia, Anthony and James. She's safe."
"I know ma. I have one of my daughter back and i have my wife in the hospital because she took a bullet for me."
"She did because she loves you and she would risk her life for you." She hugs me "everything will be okay Gerald. Have they told you anything about Dylan?"
"No. How's Suz?"
"She's a happy to be home."
"Doesn't she know?"
"No. They guys are distracting her and playing with her." She sat down and hands me the clothes "here I brought you another set of clothes to change."
"Thanks ma." I got up and walked to the restroom. She knows me so well just like Dylan. I came out with the set of a gray hoodie and gray sweat pants and black shoes. The clothes that had blood on I put it on the black bag I asked for. Then my mom seen me "I got you some food and water while you were changing."
"Thanks ma." I sat down. She gave me a subway sandwich and the water bottle. My ma took the trash of my food and went to throw it to the trash. She walks back to the chair next to me. She gives me the blanket to cover me. She seen the blanket was not long for my legs. She laughed a little then I did. I lean to her. She hugs me to get comfortable. "My baby boy. You rest okay Gerald. I'll wake you up when the doctor calls us." She kisses me in the forehead.

"Gerald" Ma moves me to wake up "Gerald wake up."
"Yeah? What's up ma?" I wake up. I see my mom "is everything okay?" Then I see the doctor. "Yes Doctor." I prepared myself for the worse. I stand up.
"Mr Gillum, we finished the operation and your wife.. she made. The bullet didn't hit the heart, it was about two inches away. She is a strong person. She can take anything and she's still alive."
I smiled. She is the strongest women I ever met. "Can I see her? Right now?"
"We're transferring her to a room but of course." I looked at my mom. "Go, I'll see her later." My mom told me. I walked with the doctor to room 26. She was asleep. The last time I saw her asleep was the night before we were in the danger of the salvation.
"How long is she going to be asleep? Or it's the medication?"
"Maybe for a couple days maybe three weeks. I'll leave you two some privacy." He leaves the room and closes the door.

I got the chair and brought it next to her. I sat down. I grabbed her hand. "Hey, babygirl. I love you so much and I will never stop loving you till the day I die. Like how the song we sang during the tour. In the end it's him and I. I will wait here till you wake up. And Suz is back home, home with our family." I kissed her hand. My mom came in the room. "Hey, I was just checking in before i leave. How are you?"
"Better since I'm with Dylan again."
"I told you. Well imma go. I'll be back tomorrow morning to check in. Or you can go home and see Suz."
"Yeah I'm miss also Suz." She kissed me. "Night ma."
"Night Gerald." She leaves. I stare at Dylan. Wondering how she didn't think about anything not even getting shot by that bullet. I told the officers that we were just giving a testimony of the incident and not attending for the trail. They respect on what we want.

I woke up the next morning. I fell asleep, holding Dylan's hand. It felt like I was protecting her. "Morning babygirl." I kissed her forehead "yeah I stayed here with you last night. I know it's not a comfortable place to sleep. Ma is coming right now. She's going be here with you while I see Suz. I haven't seen her after she was rescued." Anthony and my ma came to the room. "Morning G." Anthony said "your mom needed a ride to come and I wanted to see how's Dylan." He gave me a fist bump
"Thank Anthony." Then my mom hugs me "Morning ma."
"Morning Gerald. Did you sleep?"
"Yeah." I got up and stretched "but it was very uncomfortable to sleep in those tiny chairs. So you're going to stay here for a while?"
"Yes. While you go home and spend some time with Suz and get some rest. Me and Anthony will be here with her and call you if Anthony."
"Thanks ma, Thanks Anthony." I both gave them a hug "hey Anthony can you do me the favor and drive me..."
"Sure I'll drive you." I take a last look to Dylan. My ma stares at me "she will be okay. Go and rest with Suz." I hug my mom again then leave with Anthony.

The car ride was awfully quiet. I didn't want to talk. Not just because I didn't like Anthony. I'm not going to lie but he has got me to my good side lately since I had a chance to know him in the wedding. And he's the good influence to Suz. I just had stuff in my mind and I was worrying about Dylan. I couldn't be away from her.

We arrived to my ma's house. "Somebody will be happy to see you." I smiled knowing I had my daughter back. Mia opened the door. James was next to her, carrying Suz in his arms. "Guess who was the little princess missing a lot lately." My brother said
"Welcome back Gerald." Mia hugged me. Anthony and I walked inside, Mia closed the door. We walked in to the living. James hands me Suz. "Hey princess. It's good to have you back with us home." I gave her kisses in her cheek. I stare at her eyes and see the light brown eyes that she got from Dylan. She looks just like Dylan. I didn't want to start crying again. It just remembers me how I want to go back with her. "I love you so much Suz." I hugged her.

I spend a good hour with James, Anthony, Mia and Suz. Catching up. They tell me that they seen Lauren with Officer Michael and how they made out. They must be a thing. Honestly I don't feel any anger against her because she helped us at one point to get back my daughter. But she at first was a little to bitchy about till Dylan slapped her. I really wanted to take Suz with me so she can see Dylan. But they tell me not to cause she's a baby. So I told Anthony if he can try me back to the hospital. He said he will.

I put Suz to bed then i kissed her before I left to the hospital. She was fast asleep "dadda will be back will with mama. Sweet dreams my princess." I left my old room and the door open. I went downstairs to the living room. "Mia, James I left the door open in my old room...."
"Yeah. Will take care of her." Mia got up and hugged me again "tell her I love her and miss her."
"Okay." Then James hugged me.
"Tell Dylan that I miss her."
"Will do brother." Anthony told them they would be back. He left to his car then he seen someone. Lauren was outside of the driveway of my ma's house. "Gerald she wants to talk to you."
"Tell her I will talk to her." He walks to her and tells her what I told her. He walks to his car in gets in. She walks to me "How is she?"
"She's in recovery well healing."
"It's all my fault that this ever happened...." I cut her off
"Hey, it's not your fault. I forgive you and I'm sure Dylan will."
"You do? You both will forgive me?"
"Yeah. You helped us with getting back Suz." Then I remember to give her the money. I take out my checkbook "wait I almost forgot."
"No, you don't need to do that."
"That was part of the deal."
"I know but the only thing I wanted was not going to jail if I helped you guys. That's all I wanted."
"What about the fines and...."
"I have someone who will be helping me." Then Officer Michael came out of the police car
"Oh. I see you and...."
"Michael, he is helping me."
"You two are a thing?"
"Yeah if you say so." She giggled "well I must leave. Sorry again."
"It's fine. Take care Lauren." She nods and leaves with him.

We arrived to the hospital. We walked in to the room and we seen my ma sleeping in the couch. I told Anthony to not wake her up since knowing her she didn't get that much sleep cause she was worrying of us. Then my ma wakes up. "You're back Gerald?"
"Yeah, i got some rest. And you should to. I'll be here tonight."
"Sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure." Then she gets up. "Night ma. I love you."
"Love you to Gerald." She leave the room. Then Anthony comes to me "I'll come tomorrow morning."
"Okay, night Anthony." He leaves. The same chair I left was still there like how I left it. I sat down in the same chair to be next to Dylan. I began to fall asleep then Dylan begins to call my name "Gerald, Gerald."
"I'm right here baby. I'm here." I get up from the chair. "It's okay I'm here with you." Then she opens her eyes. "hey baby." I smiled
"Gerald...."
"Shhh, it's okay."
"W-W-what am I doing here? Why does my chest hurt so badly?"
"You're at the hospital. You took a bullet for me."
"W-W-who shoot me?"
"Ashley did." She was quiet for a minute. "But you're okay."
"Where's Suz?! Where's my baby?!"
"She's with ma, James, Anthony and Mia. She's back home with us. Safe and sound. She misses you a lot, and waiting for you to get better. Relax baby." She stares at me "What wrong?" Then a tear appeared in her eye. "Why are you crying?" I wipe it off.
"I thought she would never be back with us."
"And she is back with us where she belongs. And now you will heal quick so you can see her soon." I lean down to her then kiss her soft lips. Then I felt her lips kiss mine "I thought I lost you."
"You didn't. And you never will baby." I looked at her in the eyes "I love you Gerald." Then she carefully gets up and hugs me. I hug her.
"I love you so so much Dylan."  Then she lays back down. The medicine affected her to fall asleep. "Get some rest babygirl." She nods. I sat down back to the chair. I put my hand next to her body. She lays her hand where mine was and she grabs it. I held her hand and kiss it. She smiled at me and closed her eyes. She was asleep. "Night babygirl. I'll be here with you the whole night. Sweet dreams."

I knew she is the the strongest woman. Even the day when I met her.
