Anthony version
Back in the bay. Kinda feels good being back especially for the new year. Dylan and Gerald are throwing a new year party so I said why not we fly out there. And it'll be good to see James, Mia; now we're in good terms as friends like before; Jess, Gerald's mom and good old Matt even though sometimes he gets in my nerves. The kids were happy since were traveling to meet their cousins. Monroe was thrilled to be back in the bay. Especially moving back here in a couple months.

You know the usually thing. So let's fast forward to the night. Arrived in Oakland, get our bags, get a taxi to Dylan's and Gerald's house, arrives and say hi to them, unpack in the guest room, help out to the party, kids in the play room. It's too much detail not wanting to bore anyone out. So this is what we do traditionally in my family.

We say the most embarrassing things about each other well saying the deepest secrets. "So are we doing positive stuff or you're going to tell us juicy things about Dylan's past?" Gerald asked me as everyone sat in the couch. Dylan was rolling her eyes knowing it was time and knowing Gerald doesn't know everything of her.
"Well I got some. I got some tea of my sister that no one knows. I got some tea Dylan." I laughed "it's nothing negative but it's something juicy. So it was one time where we use to go to this place when our mom would leave us for work. We were both eight, you wanted to do a prank to ms lee. You told me 'hey tony why don't we hid this' it was a wallet of her cat that died but now it's resting in peace and you had this smile on your face and just giggled." My sister was laughing knowing it was true "so we did do it. We dig a hole and put the wallet. Then days later ms lee comes out with her garden gloves, one hand she hand her wallet and the other one with her thing to dig her new flowers. She says 'what did i find?!' But mad at us. And we looked at each other like we didn't know what happened but yeah that's one thing of Dylan you don't know. But that's one of her deepest darkest secrets is that she has bad intentions of steeling."
"So Dylan my wife steels?" Gerald asked "what? How could she?"
"Okay we were like eight okay, we're we obviously bored and just kids. Basically the same age as our kids ger." Dylan made an explanation "the good old days of us getting into some trouble."
"Dylan you think it's done there? No there's more. Gerald you don't know anything of her." Gerald was dying of laughter but couldn't believe it. "So my sister Dylan was always a good kid, you know since elementary through high school before she left with Mia to LA, good grades, perfect attendance. This was sophomore year. Two years before she left well Mia and Dylan left. She never went to partying. But it was one night during a school night her best friend Mia told her about this party of the senior class. She never knew I knew about this party. They were planning to go so she lied to our mom saying she was spending the night with Mia and study. Mom finds out she and Mia weren't at her house and studying but left to that senior party, so what mom does was she tracks her down, I didn't say anything about it or your plan, walks in to the party while music goes on loud, senior dancing, Dylan was sitting there with Mia around hot guys well fuck boys, they both were giggling, laughing, having the time of their lives. She sees mom and me at the door and her face just went like 'oh shit I'm in trouble' mom comes in and all the seniors boys think that she was their age. Mom was literally walking past by them ignoring all of them, flipping them off, she goes 'Dylan, Mia come with me' in front of everyone."
"No, no, no, this is what happened." Dylan explained as she was laughing "so I saw her and you and I just turned away thinking she didn't see me or Mia."
"I got scared when Sage saw us just having the best time." Mia comment "but it was embarrassing."
"You were like 'oh shit.' And turned the other way."
"I thought you told her. I was so pissed at you." Dylan told me "that's why I didn't talked to you for almost a week."
"Yeah but before you were like 'look away and hopefully she doesn't see me.' But that was embarrassing of mom telling you and Mia 'come here, we're going home' in front of the whole senior class."
"But why was Dylan there in the first place?" Gerald asked "did you get an invitation somehow or just lied you were a senior?"
"So Dylan she was basically the most beautiful girl in the sophomore class. Literally, no joke and they knew me since they said we looked a lot alike. And some guy of the football team invited her."
"Wasn't his name Kyle, with the buffed up muscles and how all the seniors girls wanted to date him but he had eyes for me?" Dylan knew who it was "He was literally the dumbest guys in the whole senior class and he wasn't my type."
"How do you know him?!" Gerald was worried "he is the guy that used to bully the nerds cause that's what I remember."
"Basically everyone knew who he was." Then I wonder "wait Gerald how do you know about that? What school did you go to?"
"Berkeley high school." He answers me "why?"
"No, but back to the story. I got a good one. One day, umm Kyle went to moms house, he asked me if Dylan was home I said no. At school everyone knew me of how I scared all the guys in high school."
"How long was this?" Gerald asked "I just want to know, and thank you Anthony for say this."
"No problem and this was when we were both in sophomore year." He nods his head "and he invited her to the beach. She said yes because she wanted to experience the moment but nothing happened since he was a big jerk to her. Mom was like 'listen Dylan you're not going without Anthony.' So I said 'okay were going to the beach' Cause I had to go. Where Dylan is going I'm going with her. Especially when it was Kyle cause I didn't trust anyone with Dylan. Mia eh not to much. So we went to the beach. Kyle has a problem of me going. So he told me 'yo wait for us here and we'll just walk out in the sand and in ten minutes will be back' so I did since seen them both. Ten minutes past, they left somewhere else. Thirty minutes they haven't came back and I began to worry. I walked around, right and left. I didn't see Dylan around. My first instinct 'I'm telling mom' my second instinct 'okay where is she?! This is no joke' so Dylan comes running to me sobbing in tears crying how Kyle tried to take advantage of her. And her shirt was ripped. I literally got pissed. He was running and yelling at her, calling her names in front of everyone. I had to beat the shit out of him like never disrespect her like that. Me and Dylan left the beach, I gave her my jacket to cover herself."
"It was the worse day of my life." Dylan said. Gerald hugged her "I didn't know why he would do that to me"
"I know Dylan. That fucker was just a jerk who doesn't know how to respect women." Gerald told her.
"We left. We didn't tell mom. Cause Dylan didn't want her to know. So after that Kyle never looked at me or Dylan. After that day I had to protect my sister and her friend, Mia. That's why I scared off those fuck boys from them especially the nerds, we were chill but they knew the deal."
"Wait, we went to the same high school, I heard about both of you, and Kyle, but we never met until later in life." Gerald was saying "you both were in sophomore year, and I was in junior year."
"Wait." Dylan was following up with Gerald "so we went to the same high school... so when you were telling me 'I wish I could've been your everything in the past'.... wait I get where you're going. I knew about you since you did shows during lunch but at that time with another name. We never met or had any communication what's so ever till we were like in our twenties."
"Anthony was know as the overprotective dad of the most beautiful girl in the whole school. He didn't let you go to prom." Gerald said "never mind you left during junior year like in the mid year."
"Yeah I had you both separate during high school but surprisingly out both did end up getting married and having four adorable kids. So you're welcome. And thank god you weren't together during high school cause he was known as the second Kyle, being a player with all the girls in school even the freshman class."
"Weird how life has this planned out and your brother was the scary father figure in high school." Gerald commented "but wow after what ten, nine years later look at us. If we would met during high school, us would've been the rocky, roller coaster of the century."
"And again you're welcome." I chuckled "Dylan knows stuff about me that no one knows and she knows stuff about me that no one knows. Thats twin connection we have. Soon Ashton and Hayden will have that."
"The only thing you gotta know is you should be careful about it." Dylan warned me.
"But the point of a daughter to a dad mind is different. And like us as parents we have a daughter that later these fathers will be overprotective like Anthony was with Dylan since they didn't have a father figure." Monroe said "it's how I seen it with my father with me and my sister when we were both growing up."
"Why are you looking at me in that way baby?" Dylan asked Gerald and he got scared
"you have one daughter Gerald and you want another baby daughter." Dylan respond
"Oh no, no, no." Suz went with Gerald "no, no, no, no, no, I'm scared now." He picks up Suz and sits her in his lap "don't grow up, stay little forever." Dylan laughs and kisses him on his cheek.
I look at Monroe "you should worry too. I know how you get over protective with Alice." She got me there.
"James I don't wanna scare you like Dylan did with your brother but it's the truth, my dad didn't let me date till I was nineteen." Mia told James "but I started dating before behind my mothers and fathers back until they found out."
"I'm not worrying of Milan that's why we have Jace and hopefully we work on our baby boy so they can protect her."
Jess looks at Matt "don't worry Jess, Audrey won't be doing those things since me as her dad will be tracking her and giving her all the good life advices but especially no dating in my house."
"Oh boy." Jess said "I don't know how will Audrey survive with Matt."
"I was just saying but since it's going to happen, Gerald, James, Matt, we know what to do in those moments when it comes."

As we talked we didn't know it was now the new year. Yeah now I should be more overprotective with Alice.
