Where Eagles Dream
This is a poem for the pic prompt (see above) of week 2 of The Poets Pub 2nd Annual Biggest Competition Ever 2017
I had a dream I was flying
Above a glistening blue lagoon
Eyes focused and searching for my prey
Until the sun was replaced by the moon
I flew over flowering meadows
And through beautiful forests of green
I soared way up high on the thermals
Where the land lay below me serene
The world all around was my oyster
Nowhere that I could not roam
Hunting the waterfalls and valleys
Of this place that I knew as my home
I woke up and ruffled my feathers
Slowly stretched and cleared my head
Then realised by my surroundings
I was still a prisoner of this shed
