Too Much Pain

Ruechari felt Jujube's pain.

She wished she could help

But she was too drained.

Jacob said, "Don't worry Rue

Let me help you."

He helped Jujube stand on his good leg

WhatsHisFace also came to their aide

"Let's get him to Rue's office, there's

a sofa in there. It'll be a hell of a lot more

comfortable than the bottom of this stair."

WhatsHisFace nodded in agreement

While Rue stayed behind

Once again making apologizes

For the men in her life that have lost their minds.

Soon she joined them in the room.

Jacob said, "Sorry Rue, it's definitely broken."

She knelt down next to Jujube.

"What caused this? What words were spoken?"

"Ronan wanted to talk to you.

I wanted him to think things through.

He's not right for you, Rue."

"That's not for you to decided!"

"Strop is no longer in his way.

I know you'll never turn him away.

Rue, how many times has he hurt you already."

Doc finally arrived.

"The bone will need to be reset.

Can you leave the big guy with me?

I may need him yet.

I'm out of chloroform

After treating Bella and the injuries

Caused by that freak storm.

This is going to be painful to do.

I would prefer if you left Rue.

Ruechari was about to protest.

But she knew it was for the best.

Even Jacob pressed.

"Come with me, Rue.

I doubt you even had breakfast."

"No food, I need to find Ronan."

She was on the move again.

Jacob stormed behind her not far.

He grabbed her arm

"Let me go!"

"No."

"No?"

"Really? Are you seriously going to run after a man

That injured Jujube because he can

Is that what you're into

Some jerk that can abuse you?"

Ruechari pulled her arm free.

"You know nothing about me!

Or Ronan for that matter.

All you do is tell lies and flatter.

So don't pretend now that you care

Don't you dare!

You just see this as an opportunity.

Jacob grabbed both her arms.

"Maybe you're right. I don't know what I feel

Or if any of this is real

but I know I want to find out

What this feeling is about.

So yes Rue I'm taking this opportunity

You've gotten in my head

It's more than wanting you in my bed.

You're more than just a conquest Rue.

I would have moved on already

If that weren't true."

Rue stood astounded.

Completely dumbfounded.

She really thought for him this was just a game.

"Jacob, I..."

Jujube screamed out in pain

Suddenly Rue felt the same

She buckled to her knees.

"Rue what's wrong?"

"Jacob get me out of here...please."

He picked her up in his arms

Wondering how she's come to harm.

He carried her out the back door.

Rue stifled a scream against his chest, Jacob swore.

"Rue tell me what to do?

What's happening to you?"

None of this made sense.

Rue blacked out, the pain too intense.

"Rue! Rue!"

What should he do?

Suddenly there was a man by his side.

With two horses, hitched to ride.

"We need to get her away from here.

The pain. It's too much, and she's too weak I fear."

"Who the hell are you?"

"Now's not the time. Do what I tell you to do! Hand her up to me."

Rue's eyes fluttered open. "Shh! Rest now. I got you, Ruechari."

Jacob got on the other horse. 

Following them both of course.

No way he was letting Rue out of his sight. 

Not until he knew she was alright.
