A Trip to Lover's Hill

Brody worried about Bella

Working all the time.

She mentioned being concerned

About Alec, that slime.

She talks in her sleep

She looks worn out and weak.

He just knew

There must be something he could do.

Earlier in the week

When they had lunch

She nonchalantly said, "I love you."

And it felt like a punch.

He liked Bella,

He found her blushes endearing.

It sparked that hope in his heart again

Upon hearing

But he knew it was too soon.

She couldn't possibly be ready

He, however, set his course with her

To slow and steady.

As they shared some

Muffins and lemonade

Bella seemed dimmed as if

Before his eyes, he watched her fade.

So tired she could barely hold up her head

Mumbling about giving up on his world

As if she'd be better off dead.

This was too much to be borne

She was too tired and emotionally worn

He held hand, led her outside

"I think you and I should go for a ride."

Bella called out 

soon Knight and Lady were by her side

The race was on

Bella kept a good pace

It was a good feeling

The wind on her face.

She had no idea where Brody was leading her

So intent on winning she passed him in a blur

He caught up and kept the pace

Until they reached Lover's Hill to end the race.

The Horses wandered happy to graze.

Brody took Bella's hand they reached the top

In time to watch the sun's setting rays.

He knew she felt connected to nature

The city was no place for her.

She needed to be among the green

He smiled, as she appeared serene.

She laid down upon the grass

The sky darkened the stars shone

"This view really is world-class."

She looked up at Brody who she caught staring.

"Thank you so much for caring.

Can I ask you a question?"

she had a cautious look.

"Ask away, I'm an open a book."

"What is your life's dream?"

She went right for the hard answer it would seem.

"My dream is simple, a family of my own.

Someone to love, grow old with, have a true home."

*Bella shrugs*

"That's just the thing,

I guess that's everyone's dream."

"Except in my dream

I don't think it can possibly

Come true... that is without you."

He whispered in her ear

The words he hoped she wished to hear.

She watched as that famous grin

Begin to grow.

Her smile grew, she whispered back

I love you too!

He gathered up, they watched the stars

Pushed from her mind the thoughts

Of Alec and scars.

Brody turned her face, he claimed her lips.

"I just can't see how life gets better than this."

She smiled at his simple ways

His loving gaze.

Bella soaked the nature in

Letting the healing begin.
