Enzo quietly sat in his room after work,

His shopping list has grown very long

Delivering groceries proved its worth

He took a deep breath and relived the day

Remembering every minute and odd detail,

He attached faces to the items in his list,

Taking note of alleys and exits

He knew he must finalize his list,

Which to leave, which to lift

He laughed as he remembered Lou,

She must think him very dull to believe her hullabaloo.

Black diamonds were too good to be true,

And that funny look she was giving her partner Bruce,

And expert in jewelry, she says?

He was trying so hard not to laugh in her face.

He made a decision on what he's going for:

Mrs. Ger's diamond brooch encrusted with pearls

The Brown's heirloom of sterling silver cutlery

and Pastor Stein's pair of antique silver candlesticks

He then toyed with an idea of a challenge,

And see if he could do it, just because he can,

He saw that boy Ray with a solid gold locket,

And Loren Order wearing a jade bracelet

Add to that what he saw that morning,

The Mayor, in the cafe, playing with rings.

Enzo knew its time to set things in motion
