Setting Things Right

The wedding delayed.

But this was a good thing

As Lorne needed time

to replace the rings

No way he wanted the old ones back

Let them be buried on boot hill

Along with Enzo in his digestive track.

He decided instead to upgrade.

And enlisted Petra to have new rings

Especially made.

Petra smiled when she was done

Two rings with ½ hearts that turn into one.

She made them rose gold for an added special touch.

The Mayor was thrilled. "Thank you Petra, so very much."

He headed to the Doc to get the report.

"The boys are doing fine,

I expect them return home in no time."

Myna had been working on the bridesmaid's gowns.

The gingham fabric had arrived in pink and brown.

That gave him an idea, he asked Hugh if it could be done.

And ordered 3 pairs of pink socks from the PHA

for his groomsmen and him to wear just for fun.

He knew it would make Myna giggle 

and that was enough for him.

He walked to the engraver wearing a silly grin.

Inside the rings he wanted it to say...

Two souls, one heart, always together, never apart.

He waited until they were complete.

The saying was etched perfect and neat.

His last stop was to see 3Gun

He found him in his hammock.

"I need you to guard these with your life

Until I make Myna my wife

After all you are my Best Man,"

3Gun looked up in a panic.

"I'm what?"

"My Best Man," Lorne said.

Putting the rings in 3Gun's hand

"Can't wait to see what you got planned.

We only got a few more days."

Lorne couldn't stop smiling as he walked away

If only he'd seen 3Gun's look of dismay.
