Lost and Found

Early in the day...

We found a hat

And wanted to play

We danced around it

Every which way.

Playtime had never

Been so much fun

Until we played

Wild West Guns.

Whoever wore the hat

Was the bad guy

"I want the hat," Johnny said

But we can't say why.

The look on his face was rather strange

And the moment he placed it on his head

He became deranged.

We really thought he was out to kill us all

He knocked over Jenny

And she began to bawl.

He stuck out his foot

Causing Christopher to fall.

He held up his fingers like a pair of guns.

And told me to drawl.

He backed me up against a wall.

He laughed in my face in a really weird way.

"What's the matter,

Didn't expect Tex Mex

to come and play?"

I thought that a really weird thing to say,

But frightened, I swung out anyway.

I missed his face by a mile.

And he gave me a wicked smile.

Christopher hit his hat

Knocking it off

with a baseball bat.

Suddenly our friend dropped to the ground

Scared and confused he looked around

"What is going on out here?!"

Ms. Folio quieted Jenny

All the kid's faces held fear.

I stepped forward,

"We found a hat and

Johnny put it on but

That..."

"It made me see terrible things."

Johnny said with a shudder.

"But I didn't know what I was

doing...." He muttered.

"Of all the silly excuses for being bad,"

It was obvious to us Ms. Folio was mad.

Just then Ms. Folio saw walking by... CS

"For Raven's Lost and Found Box."

She handed our hat to him.

"Now clean up this mess.

We have lessons to begin."

She looked at us all

in her no nonsense way.

We didn't argue

It was fine with us...

We had enough "fun" for one day.
