A Past Revealed (silenttomorrows)
A Past Revealed
Sue reveals her past to Frank
Frank mulled over what he'd heard Sue say
She divulged her worst fears to him,
In Alice Springs,
this very day.
Her tale was sad but full of courage
Poor Sue had been forced into
unwanted marriage
Earl Montague Grey's stately manor
Stood in the Yorkshire Dales
Built of cold stone and grandure
He was a bad man self made
Owner of mines, mining black ore
He paid little,
became rich
On the backs of the wretched poor
Deciding he wanted a wife for his needs
Wanted an heir, a woman to breed
He scoured his lands till he saw a maid
And sought to gain her with devious plans made
Approaching Sue's father who turned Earl away
He threatened her dad much to Sue's great dismay
Terribly frightened of Earl and his thugs
Sue said that she'd marry, to spare pain 'n' blood
The service was solemn with tears from the bride
Sue hardly could speak, always seeming tongue tied
The Earl was so smug with his beautiful trophy
In virginal white, lilies made up her posey
Her father was so sad to see his girl wed
His poor heart gave way
He was later found dead
Then was the feast with the wine and the ale
Earl Montague boasted with guests he regaled
Sue soon retired back up to her room
All she could sense was her impending doom
Drunk and a staggering Earl burst through the door
'Now I will have you, this is what you're for'
But Sue was so furious she wouldn't give in
And swung at his head with long handled bed pan
'CRUNK' hit the bed pan, on Montague's head
Rocking him back against the bedstead
Montague roared as he stuttered his words
BB BB BB BB BB BB BB BB
BEDPAN
BEDPAN
BEDPAN
'BIFF' then Sue hit him a crack on his nose
and 'SPLAT' came her foot down on Montague's toes
hopping and swearing the Earl stumbled back
he fell against armour went down like a sack
Clanking and clinging the helmet fell down
POW' on his head it cracked hard on his crown
It lodged itself over the Earls swollen face
For someone so regal he looked a disgrace
Earl was unconscious, Sue emptied the vase
Down front of Earls trousers now he looked absurd
When servants arrived they'd think at first glance
The Earl was incontinent cause he'd wet his pants
Sue opened a window then climbed to the side
An abundance of foliage was gripped by the bride
Whilst still came the sounds of the revelers roars
Feeling at least she had settled some scores
Down she climbed into dark of the night
Mounting a horse then brave Sue soon took flight!
'So Sue you went from England and changed your name
Homeless and anonymous is what you became'
'Had to Frank, he's wicked and powerful too
He'd come after me here if he only knew
He'll want revenge, he has plenty of money
He'll pay a reward and punish me soundly'
Startled by sound of shuffling stones
Frank and Sue realised there were not alone
A horse galloped off, rider unknown.
