Stray Dog

At 8 o'clock, the train stopped at BG station.

And Crooked Smile got off, behind him was Stray Dog.

He put a hand on the barkeeper's shoulder, whisperin':

"Your pal is lookin' eager." The other's silence confirmed his

thought, he let go. "Boy or horse?"

In a loud voice, he spoke: "Ah, Alister!" Stray Dog wrinkled his nose and

grabbed his handkerchief, "My partner to- be. Dear me!"

"What's your name, pal?" Stray Dog asked the black- haired boy, their guide. But he got ignored!

"Alister, please! Just one sec!" Crooked Smile's fellow begged."Read the Pillars!" Alister quickened his pace.

"Wait!" The boy began to run- and nearly hit Alister's back as he spun. Finally, Alister took the issue to scrunch it up and throw it into the dirt.

"Woof! Woof!"
