Starting the Day Off Right

The sun woke him up.

The Virginian begrudgingly opened his eyes to begin the day.

He was instantly confused.

He was lying behind a barn curled up with a horse who head laid on The Virginians chest.

"Oh yeah, " the Virginia said, after a moment waking up the horse.

"I won you from Billy. Good morning, NoName."

NoName stared back at him, the horse not moving anything other than his eyes.

The Virginia rubbed the horse's neck "Yeah, I don't wanna get up either but we got things to do."

NoName lifted his head freeing The Virginian. "I'm sure there's gonna be a nice mare for you to meet don't worry boy."

NoName groggily stood up as The Virginian looked around, "So, where are we?"

It was then The Virginian noticed the bottle half full of brown liquid that was sitting next to NoName.

Inspecting it The Virginian read "Rat Water Whiskey" on the bottles label. "Well, that explains a lot," said the man.

"Now where do we find breakfast?" The Virginian asked NoName.

To his surprise NoName replied. The horse motioned his head to a window in the barn that was in front of them.

"Smart horse," answered The Virginian. "Give me a boost?"

NoName aligned his body with the barn and The Virginian climbed into the window.

Stepping into the barns upper loft, The Virginian stumbled around the darkness until he found a sack.

The Virginian couldn't help but smile when he saw the sack overflowing with apples.

Tossing the sack out of the window, The Virginian yelled, "NoName, I am proud of you!"

Stumbling as he landed The Virginian grabbed one of the apples from the ground NoName had already eaten one.

"A little bruised but still good," The Virginian said, looking at the apple. "Breakfast now and lunch with Kae later, two birds one stone."

"We do this right," The Virginian continued, "You and I get a real place to lay our heads and then maybe some real paying work for all this debt I'm racking up."

The Virginian picked the bottle of whiskey from the ground. "These apples are at least twenty dollars.

Taking a pull from the bottle, The Virginian couldn't help but make a disgusted face and yell, "This is bottom shelf, I don't owe Raven anymore than five dollars for this garbage."

The two ate one more apple each before The Virginian tied the sack closed and climbed atop NoName.

"I hope you remember the way back to town," said The Virginian, taking NoNames reins.

"Let's get to town, we can probably find a trough for you there and I can meet with Kae then Galina."
