Message Received

A hooded figure came to the bar

Dust covering his cloak like he's traveled far.

Demi cautiously asked, "So what will it be?"

"I have a message for Brandy."

"Brandy? I'm sorry

there is no one here by that name."

Colton threw his hood back.

"I don't have time for this game."

"Colton!" Demi said in surprise

Then lowered her voice upon

Noticing prying eyes.

"She's not in a good way.

She's having a particularly bad day."

"Tell her I have a message from Ruechari

I know that will get her to see me."

Demi nodded and took the stairs to their stores

Whiskey, vodka, you name it, they had the liquor.

Demi cringed when she saw Brandy

Wiping the blood from her lip.

The body of the man she was holding

Fell from her grip.

"I can see you've managed

To take care of the guys who

Threatened our territory."

"Most expediently."

Brandy said stepping over the body.

There were three more.

Sprawled out on the floor.

"Get someone to dispose of them

Before they stink up the place."

Brandy grabbed a rag

to wipe the blood off her face

"Brandy? Colton is here."

The flash in Brandy's eyes

had Demi step back in fear.

"I thought I was clear.

He is not to set foot in here."

"He said he has a message, from Ruechari."

That could only mean trouble for Jake or Josie.

Brandy growled and stormed up the stairs.

She couldn't believe he was standing there.

Brandy gripped up Colton by his shirt

Oh, how she wished she could make him hurt.

"Come with me."

Brandy said pulling Colton away.

"Just know the only reason

you are still alive

Is because I want to hear

what you have to say."

Colton came willingly.

"I have received a telegram

from Ruechari."

"Not here!" reprimanded Brandy.

She took Colton back to her place.

She so wished she never had

to see his face.

Once inside, behind locked doors.

Brandy couldn't take anymore.

Her fist flew hitting Colton square in the jaw.

She rubbed her hand out of habit

as it did not hurt at all.

Colton rubbed his face, he had it coming.

If he had any sense he'd leave here running.

Yet he couldn't regret what he'd done anymore,

Then he could bring himself to walk out that door.

"Who is it Jake or Josie?"

"Jake. He's been taken into custody.

Possible murder of a woman named Mary Sue

But he's believed innocent. At least by Rue."

Brandy swore.

She couldn't lay low anymore.

Josie must be so scared.

For none of this is she prepared.

"I am going back to BG.

I need you to stay and hold my territory.

Before you even think to disagree.

Remember you owe me."

"I owe you? For saving your life?"

Brandy stormed up to him

So many emotions, where to begin.

"You owe me for turning me

into the monster I always thought I'd be

Dying for Jake, I could have been redeemed.

Now I'm stuck in hell it seems."

Colton took hold of Brandy's face.

"This is your redemption. Your second chance,

Although it may not seem so at first glance."

Brandy pushed Colton away.

"That's a hell of a thing to say.

"I love you. I'm sorry.

I couldn't let you die."

"You're dead to me. You needn't ask me why."

"All I've done is made you no longer weak.

You can still have the redemption you seek.

Just ask her, I know she will."

"I'd only traded one owner for another.

No matter what Brandy said.

He still couldn't wish her dead.

Too in love with her still.

Even though she bears him ill will.

"I'll stay here and take your place,

And keep my brother off your back.

Now go, hurry. You have to pack."

Brandy grabbed her knives and guns

"Looks like I'm all done."

"You don't know what's waiting for you in BG?

This may take you being a little more stealthy."

"I don't plan on revealing my hand just yet.

But to BG I must get.

I have to make certain Josie is okay.

And if things go south. I'll break Jake out

And steal them both away."
