Loren sang 'Amazing Grace',

As the morning sun rose;

Peace fell upon the countryside,

And the river softly flows.

The men carried the casket up,

And placed it beside the grave.

Aunt Sue stood solemn,

Softly weeping yet brave...

Time's movin' slow,

As if a snail;

My Uncle Bubba,

Has passed beyond the veil.

Aunt Sue seems numb,

Her only love, now gone.

We will lay him to rest,

This morning at dawn.

He loved to fish at sunrise,

With the water calm and still.

We'll put it in the dirt,

Overlookin' the river on the hill.

3 Gun got with Unger,

And ordered a mighty fine box.

We laid him with his favorite cane pole,

And his wicker tackle box.

Lorne is at my side,

I'm grateful for his shoulder to lean on.

Pastor Stein is speaking some lovely words...

It's hard to accept that he's gone!

I have my memories,

To keep Uncle Bubba alive;

I'll teach the babies about him,

His legacy will survive.

I want to be mad at you,

For leaving me alone;

But you were brave and saved our girl,

So, I'll be brave and continue on my own.

You look so handsome,

In your Sunday best,

But don't worry my darling,

Under your coat is your fishing vest.

Our Myna is worried about me,

I can see it in her eyes.

I will calm her fears,

After we say our good-byes.

I am so glad she has Lorne,

She has made herself a wonderful life.

We did right by her, Bubba,

She is a strong woman, mother, and wife.

Oh, my dear sweet Bubba,

I leave you with one final kiss...

Until I see you again,

My darling you will be missed.

The pearly gates,

Are just as we are told,

And by gollies,

The streets are made of gold.

I wander on in,

Michael says "Come right this way."

There sits the Big Man...

Jus' clear as day!

"Welcome home Bubba,

I am glad to have you here.

Stand before Me,

There are some things you need to hear."

I take a knee,

And bow my head.

His voice was like music,

And this is what He said...

"I've watched you My son,

Throughout your life.

Watched how you walked,

Through triumph and strife."

"Father I hope...

You'll forgive me this day.

I know my sins are many,

But I tried to follow Your way"

"You are forgiven, my son.

Here is my judgment,

Well done...

My good and faithful servant."

On top of the hill,

Friends and family stood.

We all reminisced,

About the bad and the good.

The men lowered the coffin,

As a whippoorwill sang soft and sweet.

Good-bye Uncle Bubba...

Until in heaven, again we meet.
