Down With Done and Dusted

Rue and Jasper took the coach to Rickety

WhipCracker told her how deplorable

The new owners could be.

How much greed and death seemed

To follow in their wake.

Rue had heard enough

It was more than she could take.

Jasper sat quietly

He had other things on his mind

His feelings for Rue were growing

The right words he couldn't find.

He watched her take the news in stride

Her feelings she could not hide.

Rue's one weakness would be

She ever took him seriously.

If she felt for him the way he saw

Even if he was a momentary fling

He held her close while she cried.

The tears she shed, never for him

Rue's eyes connected and suddenly

Jasper realized she could see.

Right through him to his heart

Her look caused his to stop and start.

"Rue?"

Rue closed the distance, sat by his side

He knew there was something she would confide.

"Why has it taken this long for me to see,

The one who was always right beside me?"

Jasper closed his eyes as she touched his face.

Her fingers along his jaw did trace.

Jasper whispered, "You are too kind to toy with me,

But you know I'm bound to you for all eternity.

Not because I have to be

but because of what you mean to me."

His eyes opened to see her smile

As she sat and stared at him awhile.

"I'm broken Jasper, a whole-blown wide

I don't know how often I have cried.

But you have always been by my side."

"You know you have my loyalty."

On that count, Rue did agree.

"But is that all?" she wished to know

As the wagon bumped along slow

Jasper knew he should take the leap

Fear reminded him, love does not come cheap.

He wasn't sure this was a price he could pay

He looked at Rue with love but didn't say.

Her smile sad, but she understood.

He was giving her all he could.

Jasper too was damaged goods.

Rue rose to go back to her seat

Jasper pulled her off her feet

Into his lap, she did fall

She seemed surprised by it all

Jasper couldn't say but he could do

He poured himself into Rue

And with that kiss she now knew

All he wanted her too.

The wagon came to a sudden stop.

Jasper held on tight or

to the floor 

Rue would drop.

Whipcracker opened the door to offer a hand

Rue suede boots pounded sand.

Jasper came out wearing his cocky grin.

"Time for Done and Dusted

to pay for their sins."

They walked hand and hand across the floor.

Jasper kicked open the door.

Both rose surprised to see

The injun girl called, Ruechari.

"You made a huge mistake

When you chose to mess with me."

"I'll make you an offer

Repent for your sins,

if you do, then

this is where your life begins.

If you refuse it where it ends.

The choice is yours to make amends."

Both men laughed, at the cheekiness of this girl

Who wished them to believe

They were somehow in peril.

Jasper looked at Rue and said

"That looks like a no."

"Come then Jasper we should go."

"Imagine her threatening us.

The Hangman will turn them into dust."

"She really has guts to show up here.

A waste of time, I fear."

"Pay them no mind," Dusted said to Done.

"Yes, we are the way the west is won."

They were expanding soon to County

A trip tonight they planned to oversee

Only the Wagon never made it to its destiny.

Reports were that Done and Dusted

Were no more.

Their wagon attacked by 2 jaguar.

With their death went their plans

No more would they expand.

Finally, the west was free

For now,
