Secret Santa - Chechi

Little bird flew

window sill it sat

quite literally giving me

a message

A smile on my face

I changed and rushed

the stables I went

Saddled Lady

leaving Knight

in his stall

a sadden look crossed

his features

allowing him to see through

he understood, nodding his head

no words needed

Galloping at full speed

passing the newspaper

a curious look from Ron

but I kept racing through

going to the train station

past that, to the city

Hopped off

Lady following

my own protector

but protection I didn't need

no harm though

place never been

Went to the shop

an old Indian fellow

"What can I do for

you ma'am?"

Beamed a smile

at the fella

and told him

about my predicament

he smiled

with "I'll be right back"

and off he went

Looked around the shop

couple things caught my eye

but I was here for one thing only

Few minutes later

he came back out

with just that

Admired its beauty

made of the finest wood

nice and slender it was too

Paid and said "Happy Holidays"

before going back out

hopped on Lady

and went back to town

would have to wait till

night time

Nighttime came around

dead silence in the town

waited till Brody fell asleep

before tiptoeing to the hiding

spot where it was kept

grabbing it

I left the room

Catching another glance

at his sleeping figure

asked hotel staff where

I could find the certain someone

was pointed in the right direction

left the bow and arrows outside

Chechi's door with a simple note

"Merry Christmas"

Deed is done

I smiled

went back to my room

and crawled back into bed

Brody stirred and groaned

"Go back to sleep

all is well"

I whispered and

he hummed a response

a peaceful sleep I fell into

with a smile on my face
